Avatar f tn Also my doctors prescribed me orthocyclen, because he said that has more estrogen in it since I deal with low libido and vaginal dryness, he said this would help.. Is this true? I started my first birth control pill yesterday, will this stop my period from coming ? And will it come at the end of the pack? Is it okay to start yesterday? Also is it safe to skip periods while on birth control every once in a while? Purposefully? Meaning you start another pack immediately?
Avatar n tn I have been taking mononessa, but started my last pack a week late. I had sex when i was ovulating (a week after) thinking it would've kicked in by then. I was supposed to start my period yesterday and havent been late since i started taking the pills a year and a half ago.. How big is the chance that im pregnant?
Avatar f tn So I need to delay my period, but only for a week. I’m using mononessa and just finished my third week of active pills. Im skipping my inactive pills and taking a week of active pills from another pack. After the “fourth week” of active pills I should get my period. My question is what do I do after that? Do I have to get a whole new pack or continue the second pack a started for the two weeks that are left? What’s next?
Avatar f tn Hi. I am 17. I've been on birth control since I was 15 (mononessa). I've never missed a pill. I became sexually active at 16. My last period was roughly 5-6 days before Christmas. After my last period, my boyfriend I had unprotected sex (approx. 3 days after my period) and again (twice—on different days) this past week. He has never gotten off inside of me, although I am well aware of pre ***. I am terrified, because today I have discovered light brown/beige "discharge".
Avatar n tn I'm 18 and me and my boyfriend just did it but he pulled it out before he did it in me but he got a little on me on the out side and I'm on birth control called mononessa and we cleaned out right away and washed Will get pregnant or no please help me I don't want too be pregnant
Avatar m tn hi, I'm a 19 year old girl that has been taking Mononessa birthcontrol for about 6 months now. In the month of July I had unprotected intercourse but my partner pulled out. Two days after I got my period. it was pretty normal. In the month of July I did not take the inactive pills because they are not necessary or so I heard from my doctor and after that I missed a full 28days of BC.
Avatar f tn I'd wait. Sure you could have gotten pregnant but the pills make your period odd the first month. Technically it is supposed to start the week of placebos but mine always started around the first day of the missed pack. You can always test but I'd wait two weeks from the sex to test (as it typically takes two weeks from conception in order to show up on test) and you should get your period between there.
Avatar f tn m 21 now) I normally skip the last couple of pills in my pack so I will get my period in the middle of the week instead of the weekend. I then read today that that could cause pregnancy but since ive done that forever im not too worried about stopping. Well, due to circumstances beyond my control I could not pick up my birth control this weekend and will not be able to get it until at least Wednesday.
429647 tn?1249753429 only to find out that her cancer is estrogen postive and probably caused or in some part aided in the growth of her masses. This is a very touchy subject on this forum, and as much as I love and adore Mary, she and I are on opposite sides on this one. Flashes are horrid, I will agree that I have had a really tough time with them as well as the other symptoms of menopause....but, you know what....I am alive. Gather all the facts you can....best of luck.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar f tn Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic. Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn I've been taking the BC pills, Mononessa, since August 2016 and for the first 5 months I didn't have any major issues besides headaches. Back in the beginning of Feb. 2017, I lost my pack and my gyno told me to just wait until the next pack. When I was not on that BC, I realized I had a higher sex drive, less mood swings and overall I just felt happier.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar f tn I had IVF implantation on Sunday the 3rd. Today I had blood work done at the Dr's office and my Estrogen and Progesterone levels dropped "a smidgen" according to the nurse. They are having me increase my Progesterone shots from 1cc to 1.5ccs and get an Estrogen patch. The nurse says that this doesn't mean that the procedure didn't take but I am worried. It sounds like a bad sign. My question is for other people who have had IVF. Has this happened to you?
290867 tn?1333569278 I don't know if any of you remember I posted a few days ago about possibly being pregnant??? Well honestly I don't think I am! This is where my big BOOBOO comes in! Avatar f tn I have just finished dose dense chemo for 8 rounds, and will be doing radiation in a couple weeks. I feel that my estrogen is already not there, then how can I be sure that taking Aridimex will not hurt me even more and cancer will recur really aggressively. My Medical Onc. wants me to consider Aridimex/Zometa.
Avatar m tn There are some hereditary conditions in which males have elevated estradiol levels. Also some endocrine syndromes. MOST of the time, the excess estrogen is produced in excess adipose tissue. Usually estrogen is converted into testosterone, but in some cases, this fails to happen. This is the type of case in which something like Aromasin might help.
Avatar f tn I was told yesterday that I have dense breast tissue, and through ultrasound was told that I have a cluster of cysts in this area by an xray technician. I has told to come back in 6 months and they would check if anything had changed. Can you help me understand what these are? Is it normal? Is Fibrocystic the same as what I was told I have?
Avatar f tn Your symptoms may be due, at least in part, from not having enough estrogen. Women also lose about 50% of their testosterone when their ovaries are removed. Unfortunately, doctors fail to divulge this important information before surgery! 1mg of estrogen taken orally is a fairly low dose for a woman without ovaries. And some women do not absorb oral estrogen very well. Has your doctor ever checked your blood level of estrogen or estradiol?
Avatar f tn So I got back on it and staying on it or till me and my bf want another in like 3 years . Both my sons are close and I wanted it that way . Their 14 1/2 months apart (: wouldn't trade it for the world ! So they can grow up together . My oldest is 16 months today and my youngest is bout to turn 2 months .
Avatar f tn Also, just so you are aware, “natural” hormone replacement has the same risks of estrogen exposure as “clinical” HRT. Estrogen is estrogen, whether it is from soy or the lab. This is why we recommend that women with estrogen receptor positive breast cancer avoid HRT as well as soy and other “natural” estrogen products.
