Breast cancer in men shows itself in all the ways it does in women—usually as a lump—but it tends to be discovered later because men aren't usually very conscious of their breasts. Elevated estrogen levels really do cause men to look and somewhat act more like women and less like men. High estrogen levels in men can double the risk of stroke and increase the risk of
cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. Some research has also linked high estrogen levels to enlargement of the prostate and Prostate Cancer. When the rise in estrogen levels is accompanied by a decline in testosterone levels which is typically the case these risks are even greater.

Transdermal estrogen does not raise HDL and usually does not lower LDL cholesterol as much as oral estrogen, and it does not affect triglycerides, so it may be a better choice in women with elevated triglyceride levels. Progesterone is needed to oppose oestrogen in men. If this goes on for long enough a man (yes, and a woman) can become oestrogen Dominant (too much oestrogen relative to Testosterone). By lowering stress and thus.. reducing cortisol, my progesterone levels should return to normal levels. If that is the case then why wouldn't it counter the extra oestrogen in my body automatically and remove the effects of oestrogen dominance?
Plus remember tha there have been no studies looking at estrogen increasing ovarian cancer recurrence in women with a known ovarian cancer.
So you are left with the option of just not taking estrogen because of a theoretical risk versus taking it because of the known benefits of sexual function, strong bones, improved quality of life.
