Avatar m tn Enlarged breasts are one of the first and most noticeable side effects to appear in men when estrogen levels are elevated. This is known as gynecomastia and a few other names in the gym too. Other side effects include loss of muscle tone, a decrease in body hair, shrinking testes, depression, fatigue, lower energy levels, poor memory, low stress tolerance, an ncrease in fat around the mid-section (belly fat) and erectile dysfunction.
Avatar f tn Hello, I was just reading about an older dog having a problem with urinary incontinence and the treatment she was given, particularly the possible side effects. My White Bearded Collie (13 years old) started being incontinent last year and my vet has prescribed INCURIN 1mg daily. This has been mostly effective (just the odd occurrence when she was asleep or distressed). I was just concerned that it may have some serious side effects such as those mentioned for the other treatment (PPA).
Avatar m tn My question is should I be taking this or something else to combat the effects of coming off testosterone injections? Some sites even stated I should have been on HCG during my therapy to reduce the side effects of shrinking testicles, which I have experienced. HCG is supposed to reverse this so I'm wondering if this is what I need, or just another supplement I can buy to help me feel better and energetic again.
Avatar f tn Estrogen-injected cattle, birth control pill residue in our rivers and lakes, rare side effects of steroid treatments, pseudo-estrogen from soy products, pseudo-estrogen from BPA in baby bottles and cans - nothing will ever be proven but there sure is a hormonal mess out there...
Avatar n tn Lack of lube sometimes happens. As was already said - it's not due to herpes and you should visit your doctor to make sure there's nothing else going on. Depending on the cause of the dryness - depends on if you can use the otc lubes or if you need a topical estrogen to do the trick for you. You can buy otc lubes. replens is one you can insert and it's good for 3 days. Most walmarts carry it.
1178023 tn?1293733628 All medications have side effects of some kind, it comes down to what is worse what the medicine is treating or the side effects. I would talk to your doctor and see what he says and his stats for progesterone.
Avatar f tn If you go to chemocare.com you can read all the side effects of Tamoxifen. What you mention are all listed there. The weight gain no doubt is due to fluid retention which is one of the side effects. You might discuss changing drugs with your Oncologist as there are others available but keep in mind that they all have similar side effecfts even though you mjight not experience them to the same degree. Regards .....
Avatar m tn Progesterone is needed to oppose oestrogen in men. If this goes on for long enough a man (yes, and a woman) can become oestrogen Dominant (too much oestrogen relative to Testosterone). By lowering stress and thus.. reducing cortisol, my progesterone levels should return to normal levels. If that is the case then why wouldn't it counter the extra oestrogen in my body automatically and remove the effects of oestrogen dominance?
216278 tn?1308861082 m on my third round of femara, and had no side effects the first month, but the second and third cycle, I did have a headache on and off for a couple of days. No tummy aches or breaking out, though. BUT, since you took such a high dose all at once, it wouldn't surprise me if the stimulation of the ovaries is causing some crampiness. Like dnikki said, you could always call your doctor and check. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn Hi! Can you guys help me out? I had a failed ivf cycle recently and am about to do a frozen cycle. The doctor put me on estrace to thicken my uterus. Today i got a phone call to up it to 6mg am and pm.>>>which seems like a lot! Anyone know the side effects of estrace or what you have experienced?
282955 tn?1394730951 Hey, tea_berries! I just took my very first clomid pill today (a.m.) and I haven't noticed any side effects so far. I don't think a lack of side effects means they're not working. It probably just depends on how your body reacts to the hormones. Good luck to you!
492898 tn?1222243598 1.Unfortunately, Prozac, Paxil, and "minimally Zoloft", are belived to interfere with the effectiveness of Tamoxifen. I know it's hard to consider switching from an antidepressant that is working for you, but if you want to go back to Tamoxifen, Lexapro, Celexa, Effexor, and "probably Wellbutrin" could be other choices to try. 2. As you probably already know, Tamoxifen and the aromatase inhibitors work in differerent ways.
Avatar m tn the good old DHEA, but you better read up about it first as it can have some funny side effects with the odd person, you could also back it up with some Tirbulus, will do the same thing but without any side effects, they will both boost your testosterone, your libido and your energy levels, you can google Tribulus for any more info.
486867 tn?1307139011 s taking one pill every other day. He was suppose to be on it for 3 months before they did another SA, but because of the side effect he's having a SA done next week to see if anything has changed before they keep him on it longer.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 17, I am on Depo Provera and am having side effects such as constant bleeding (1 month and half) and the common mood changes. I was told that if I take estrogen I can minimize the bleeding or even stop it...However I was informed by a nurse that due to breast cancer running in my family if I starting to take an estrogen pill so early it can potentially make my risk of breast cancer even higher for the future.
Avatar f tn They are full of it! Those are the side effects of Tamoxifen along with several others! take a look at this: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/therapy/tamoxifen What are some of the more common side effects of tamoxifen? The known, serious side effects of tamoxifen are blood clots, strokes, uterine cancer, and cataracts (see Questions 5–8). Other side effects of tamoxifen are similar to the symptoms of menopause. The most common side effects are hot flashes and vaginal discharge.
503702 tn?1276176714 Still bad side effects. My chiropractor suggested having my estrogen blood levels tested, and trying an experiment. Take Aromasin every other day for a few months, and see if it lowers my blood estrogen level enough. My blood estrogen level (estradiol) is now a *negative* 20! No nausea, just some neuropathy, swelling and stiffness, mostly in the morning. I can handle this. I plan on complaining about the side effects for the rest of my long, healthy life!
Avatar m tn An article in Scientific American (and many other articles on the Internet) says that castrated men live as much as 14 years longer than other men. Many castrated men have lived long, healthy, productive, and successful lives for thousands of years. For more than four years, I have been reading on the Internet about how to reduce androgens. I have fasted, prayed, and meditated seeking to reduce my androgens.
Avatar n tn I understand what you are saying. You are noticing behavior similar to what I have noticed in my husband. It is difficult to explain to anyone else, but you know what is normal for him. It can be difficult at times when you relied on him to take care of certain things and now you aren't sure whether you can. Six years ago my husband had a cancerous lump removed from under his right jawbone and underwent 8 weeks of radiation.
Avatar m tn Now I am 26 unmarried, Please let me know do mastarbuation have done any side effects to my is my sexual stamina.
Avatar n tn Have there been studies of women who had estrogen positive breast cancer while on HRT due to hysterectomy and stopped their source of estrogen. The only information that I can find talks the women who had ovaries, and I have not found any information that talks about the women who have had hysterectomies prior to breast cancer.
1129232 tn?1360800358 anyone taking progesterone suppositiories get side effects? i was fine the first couple of days but now i'm feeling lethargic, extreme fatigue, always hungry and a little bit of off and on nausea. Avatar f tn I think up to 12 weeks. Keep in mind that they have to disclose possible side effects. All these fertility drugs have crazy side effects......why is it that this is the only one noticed.??
Avatar n tn t know if this would cause long term side-effects, such as not being able to get it up on my own and becoming dependent on the drug for getting an erection. I know some people think it doesn't but I've also heard other stories and wanted to get an additional opinion. Thanks.
