Avatar m tn I was trying to learn more about if there was dangerous effects of eating to much dairy. Mainly butter and how much hormones like estrogen were in say a pound of butter. I only ask because I did something stupid last week and I ate a pound of butter in one sitting after seeing others do it on youtube.
Avatar n tn But giving up all dairy products is just smart. All dairy cows produce a lot of estrogen just to produce milk. Forget the fact that they are given de-wormers, antibiotics, growth hormones and such. And animal estrogen isn't a good thing. Then there comes the debate about phytoestrogens in plants. Soy for instance .... so many studies and so many different answers! Keep everything in moderation and you will do well. I actually take a drug called neurontin for hot flashes.
Avatar f tn t heard of a diet to help this but I do know that estrogen dominance can have a role in it. Google estrogen dominance and you will see some things you can do to help reduce that and some may be food related. Good luck with your recovery.
1575743 tn?1296055983 Acupuncture will greatly increase your chances. My doc also had me take DHEA vitamin supplement. I don't know about estradiol? A low-carb, non dairy, non caffeine diet as well will help. I'm hearing pineapple (fresh, no canned) is fabulous for implantation.
Avatar f tn One of the benefits of soy is that it breaks down to a type of estrogen substitute. I have never taken estrogen replacement and my levels have always been great. Try a few soy products (ice cream, appetizers, supplements) and see if you feel better. Also, have you MD test your glucose levels. Both higher and lower levels will make you sweat!!
Avatar n tn Stop drinking and smoking tobacco, make sure you're getting proper nutrition from real food with limited ingredients, cut down on dairy, try to get some exercise, and have sex every 1-2 days, especially when you're ovulating. After sex, try to lay with your hips elevated for 20 minutes. Also, make sure your partner isn't smoking tobacco or marijuana. Both of those are known to decrease the quality of sperm. Most importantly, don't stress about it. Good luck!
216278 tn?1308861082 before doing anything - I have heard that Soy, as well as **** Quai have estrogen in them, but I also know that **** Quai can have significant effects on any baby in the first trimester. I would be skeptical of any info you find on the web alone. Good luck!
Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
Avatar f tn The problem with dairy is that except for two ethnic groups, one in Scandinavia somewhere and one in India, humans lack the enzyme necessary to digest dairy. If your argument were true, mother's milk, coming from a female, would cause a male human to have hormonal problems, no? And if you are going to force feed dairy, cheese because it's cultured is actually much easier to handle than milk, which is not.
Avatar f tn talked to her pediatrician and since I have a lot of dairy in my diet, he said to cut it all.out for a couple weeks to see if that helps, if it doesn't to try soy based formula. I'm.using.gerber goodstart gentle when i do formula feed her, which is still milk based. But if it works, the cutting out dairy, would it be selfish of me to do the soy because I enjoy dairy and don't want to have to avoid it??
Avatar m tn re already dealing with thryoid issues, as the estrogen levels are still affected by the thryoid and vice versa, whether male or female. It is estrogen in particular that soy affects in a huge way. Dr. Mercola explains more thoroughly and better than I can even begin to repeat why the traditionally fermented soy products are the only soy products that are even safe to consume.
Avatar n tn I have also cut down on my dairy intake due to the excess estrogen levels in dairy which feed endo. I find my calcium in other foods instead.
541609 tn?1273879848 I never heard to cut out low fat dairy either. In fact, it's recommended to eat all dairy, except what Amanda said, nothing unpasturized (blue cheese, brie, soft cheeses, certain lunch meats, etc). If you are lactose intolerant, that's another story. Your OB/GYNs should provide you with a list of unsafe foods to avoid during pregnancy. Happy pregnancy!
1340383 tn?1309990914 my concern is that I do NOT want to get on birth control when Im TTC...and my Estrogen blood work came out in the normal range.. some people also suggest natural progesterone cream to balance out the excess Estrogen that might have caused the cyst..
Avatar f tn The first couple of months of my pregnancy I couldn't get enough dairy but then dairy would cause vomiting almost immediately after consumption. I am six months now and am very limited on dairy. I was at the doctors today and he said a lot of pregnant women go through this and to make sure to get calcium by other means.
492936 tn?1244651570 The most interesting thing to me was about the whole milk. Apparently hormones are in milk. Estrogen is in the fat - testosterone in the skim part. Drinking skim instead of whole gives you more testosterone and we women need estrogen for a healthy pregnancy - that is why you should eat whole milk, regular ice cream etc. Other than the milk part I didn't get much from it.
Avatar m tn The issue your daughter may be dealing with might be an intolerance to the protein - casein - in dairy. If that's the problem, you'll have to make sure that anything she consumes does not contain casein, sodium caseinate or any other derivative of casein which is found in ALL forms of dairy from any animal. You might consider adding some protein powder to the almond milk. And make sure the almond milk doesn't contain casein - some brands do.
10456541 tn?1427998737 Anyone else having a problem with things dairy? I drink 1% milk because I get it on wic. I LOVE milk and can drink it by glass fulls! The past couple of weeks though it has been making me very nauseous and makes my stomach hurt SO bad! I even ate some pizza the other day and the dairy from the cheese hurt my stomach. Is there any other way to get calcium?
Avatar f tn Is it weird that dairy products are the only thing I can seem to consume without feeling bloated, nauseous, and or groggy?
Avatar f tn the past 2 days i have eating dairy with dinner and i think this is setting it off. i feel fine all day until i eat dinner.
Avatar f tn I've never heard such a crazy thing about the formula. I've been changing diapers half my life and poop stinks. Granted breast fed baby poop doesn't stink as bad. I've never changed a diaper on a formula fed baby and their poop not stink. I'd consider a different Dr. There is nothing wrong with giving formula at night just know that it can cause your production to go down. I wouldn't switch to soy without consulting a different Dr.
Avatar f tn For some women this may mean too little or too much estrogen, for others too little progesterone. This type of cyclic breast pain occurs in both breasts, sometimes more one-sided than another. It is often felt more in the lateral aspect where there is more breast tissue. It may differ from month to month but always gets worse before a period and then lets up with menstruation. Cyclic breast pain can be made worse by some foods we eat or drink and some medications we take.
Avatar m tn Cervical mucus and vaginal secretions at other times of the month are thinner, and/or more milky, but when you are young you can have pretty lush cervical mucus at all times due to your great estrogen flows. (When I was on a lot of hormones for IVF, I had thick vaginal secretions all the time from the estrogen.) If it is thick like cottage cheese and not holding together like eggwhite, it is possible you have a yeast infection. (Especially likely if you take antibiotics for your skin.
Avatar m tn Elevated levels of estrogen in men cause them to take on more feminine characteristics. In fact, when estrogen levels in men are higher than they should be, it can bring about a whole slew of unwanted and potentially dangerous side effects. Enlarged breasts are one of the first and most noticeable side effects to appear in men when estrogen levels are elevated. This is known as gynecomastia and a few other names in the gym too.
Avatar f tn make sure you are getting enough fiber and that you cut down or out your dairy intake. Fiber helps cleanse your body of that extra estrogen that can make cramps more painful. Cut out greasy foods. 2. Exercise throughout the month. It will decrease cramps due to blood flow. 3. Heating pad. 4. Try supplements : Vitamin E, thiamine and Omega-3 5. Eat fish, the oils help 6. Reduce your stress levels, deep breathing "me" time 7.
429647 tn?1249753429 only to find out that her cancer is estrogen postive and probably caused or in some part aided in the growth of her masses. This is a very touchy subject on this forum, and as much as I love and adore Mary, she and I are on opposite sides on this one. Flashes are horrid, I will agree that I have had a really tough time with them as well as the other symptoms of menopause....but, you know what....I am alive. Gather all the facts you can....best of luck.
