I am not aware of any reports of it coinciding with the menstrual cycle, indeed it occurs almost exclusively
in post-menopausal women. It can rarely cause
cardiac arrest, however the recurrence rate of the condition is low. There are few if any doctors who would describe themselves as experts in this condition, as it is uncommon, relatively recently recognized, and generally patients recover quickly and don't need long-term follow-up. I recognize that this can be a frustrating situation.
