Some babies just spit up no matter what. My second and third are big spitters but they are perfectly healthy. As long as baby is gaining weight and doesn't seem to be in discomfort I wouldn't worry about it. Also I don't like soy baby formula because it has a form of estrogen in it from the soy itself and I don't think its good for babies.
If baby seems like there is pain when spitting up it could be that he has reflux and needs to be put on a med like zantac.
So I just got back from my sons pediatrician appt and basically she was saying what everyone has said its kinda making me upset I love my son more then anything in the world nd they keep saying just breastfeed every 2 hours no formula now she is saying the formula is notdigisting in his stomach if his poop smells has anyone heard of that?
I think that we all need to be careful with some of the herbal products in so far as we often don't know where our levels are of hormones.
For instance, we can load up on products that stimulate estrogen (such as soy and other herbal preps) which can upset a balance needed between estrogen and progesterone. During menopause, both levels drop but, progesterone drops the most. So, while our estrogen levels fall by a certain percentage, our progesterone may drop far more.
Babies will eat until they're full and then they stop. But, sometimes a baby will eat to be soothed. It sounds like the cool milk must feel good on her tummy but then she ends up paying for it with pain because she's so full. I would have to research this because it's been awhile but a month old baby usually drinks about 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours. That would be at most 24 ounces in 24 hours. Yes, I agree. Your grand daughter is getting too much formula.
Hey ladies, I have a quick question... I was wondering is it okay to bring your own formula to the hospital when u go in to deliver? Because when my first daughter was born I didn't bring any formula I just used what the hospital had n they gave me good start formula, I didn't care for it as much but since that is what my daughter started on I didn't want to switch. This time I want to use enfamil. So my question is.... Is it ok to bring your own formula to the hospital?
My milk came in right away with my first, my second it took over a week and I did have to give her a bit of formula. Typically though there is colostrum that comes in right away, like pre milk.
My daughter had an especially hard time digesting formula despite having breast milk in addition. I had to play around with a few different formulas to find one that my daughter could digest. The one I ended up using was Nestle Good Start with soy (of course one of the most expensive types) and though the constipation went away, this formula really made her poop green.
