Avatar m tn So, I think if I take both of these in the right proportions, the side effects would cancel and the antiandrogen effects combine. Another possibility is to use GNRH antagonist. I think GNRH antagonist would be better if not too expensive. The best and only permanent solution is orchiectomy. I know that this is irreversible, and will prevent me from ever having children. I think that I am not mature and responsible enough to be a good father, and believe the world is overpopulated with humans.
Avatar n tn It is not common to be resistant to those medications at your age, however, it may be that going to a high dose protocol, or a GnRh pump or some other IVF protocol would be in your best interests, and it may still be possible to conceive using your own eggs. One thing I often recommend to my fertility patients is to start adoption proceedings while they continue with fertility treatments. It often spreads your focus, and for some reason seems to reduce stress and improve fertility.
Avatar n tn Hello, For fibroids, Medications called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs (Lupron) are commonly used in the medical treatment of fibroids. Other than that surgical treatment myomectomy which is removal of the fibroid (by surgery, laparoscopic or hysteroscopic methods) may also be entertained. Last resort is hysterectomy. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn The bad news is that the cat has probably had some of its ovarian tissue (a portion of ovary or ovarian-type tissue) left behind and the remaining ovarian follicles (called ovarian remnants) are now cycling and producing estrogen, which accounts for the cat showing signs of being in heat. This is not a huge problem for the cat (it won't get pregnant), however, the signs of heat (calling, roaming etc.
Avatar f tn An ultrasound shows uterine volume of 1 cc and normal ovaries with no endometrium thickness, but a gnRh stimulation scared us the basal LH - 1.3 miu/ml and FSH - 40 miu/ml after the stimulation with gonadorelin 100 micrograms the values @ 30 mins were LH - 45.2 miu/ml and FSH - 149.1 miu/ml. An MRI without contrast was done and they say everything is fine .
Avatar f tn In premenopausal women, tamoxifen will not make the patient menopausal. The ovaries will still continue to produce estrogen. This is where the role ovarian ablation plays. Ovarian ablation can be accomplished by ovarian irradiation, surgery, or use of gonadotropin hormone-releasing hormone (GnRH) and leutenizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonists. This can decrease the risk of breast cancer recurrence and mortality.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your concern, iam one you answered before if you remember having atypical pco,no hairsutism&not obese, just inverted FSH&LH levels on day 3,idid HSG&was excellent&endometrium thickness is always perfect,my husband semen analysis is excellent, iwas on ovulatory stimulators,i do ovulate from a year passed, ovulation was late about cd20-23 then with puregon inj.
Avatar m tn tall and we are going to see a pediatric endo in a few weeks. Our ped had mentioned aromatase inhibitors or GNRH analogue(?). He had a bone age scan at 10.2 and the results were 12.6 years. We are all tall but he seems to be developing sooner and he's the oldest of 2 boys. My wife has an identical twin with adult sons that are 6'6", 6'5" and 6'3". I'm hesitant to have injections and such.
Avatar f tn Hi Ticked thank you for your reply, yes I have GnRh injection on Sept.25 my 4th and last injection before my laparoscopy on 3rd Oct. yes I'am endometriosis specialist UCLH here in London, I'am thinking maybe because of the side effect of GnRh injection but they don't mention it.. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi, If surgery is not being planned in the near future, then the endometriosis can be kept in control by medical means. This is done with the help of hormones like progestins and GnRH anologues. Consult your Doctor. Take care and good luck.
Avatar n tn Just bringing your prolactin down does not ensure ovulation; you may need to have your ovulation induced with GnRH (http://www.ivf.com/gnrh.html). I have a one year old son and just finished another cycle using that method (high prolactin due to a pituitary adenoma); 2WW right now, fingers crossed for baby #2! Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn These medications include GnRH analogs, oral contraceptive pills, and progestins. Surgery is the preferred treatment in situations with anatomic distortion of the pelvic organs or obstruction of the bowel or urinary tract. Endometriosis is often associated with infertility. The exact treatment of your condition can be suggested only after examining you. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. For more details and queries consult your gynecologist.
Avatar n tn GnRH Antagonist injection for 6 months or in the alternative, progesterone, also for 6 months. I'm tempted to go for the GnRH treatment because of the persistent pain, but upon research on the net, I found the GnRH treatment or even the progesterone treatment confusing as to its efficacy and appropiateness considering I don't have heavy bleeding but only knife like pain in the pelvic area and a specific spot below my appy surgery scar.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
