Avatar f tn Do they even have over-the-counter estrogen? Mine (for IVF purposes) was all by prescription.
Avatar n tn I am on Arimidex and blood tests indicate that it is working, as my estrogen levels are low. But a 24-hour urine test prescribed by an M.D. with a holistic practice showed a problem in one of my estrogen pathways, and recommended a broccoli seed extract with SGS (sulforaphane glucosinolate). Might it enhance or interfere with Arimidex? My oncologist doesn't seem to know. Thanks.
Avatar n tn No, you don't. But giving up all dairy products is just smart. All dairy cows produce a lot of estrogen just to produce milk. Forget the fact that they are given de-wormers, antibiotics, growth hormones and such. And animal estrogen isn't a good thing. Then there comes the debate about phytoestrogens in plants. Soy for instance .... so many studies and so many different answers! Keep everything in moderation and you will do well. I actually take a drug called neurontin for hot flashes.
Avatar n tn It was about a week before I started premarin because my dr wanted me to take it. I took it for several years and then took myself off. I am now 45. I have not had estrogen since 2015. Insomnia is bad, anxiety is higher, and depression has been around more. Nothing in my life has changed. I don't know why I all of a sudden I don't feel like my old self. I am going to see my old Gyn on Monday. I am sure he will not be happy with me going off the premarin.
Avatar n tn She thinks Armour Thyroid is not meant for humans because it is pig thyroid. I pointed out that lots of medication comes from animal urine, tropical plants, etc.. She will not do any other testing as far as the thyroid is concerned. She does not see a purpose for all the other test. I would like to argue the point according to what I have read in your replies to other people who write into the forum but I do not believe I will change my endo's mind.

Avatar m tn For examle, it seems ellagic acid is the main component in phyllanthus plants for why these herbs have a reputation of helping people recover from HBV. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?
Avatar f tn Two Nuclear Power Plants in the plan for the future. To help us create jobs, go green etc, etc. The last power plant constructed was 30 years ago. So, is this a good idea? bad Idea? What say you?

594914 tn?1245263684 Hey what is the purpose for estrogen meds. My Doc put me on them and he said he wants me to start them next month if my cycle comes.... What good does this do for me?
Avatar n tn m not waiting for the results. It cuts estrogen production by 95%. All three of my cancers were estrogen-dependent. Gimme that Aromasin!
Avatar n tn Is it common for the cancers to be estrogen positive in one breast and estrogen negative in the other
1903798 tn?1333905288 Selma you are an amazing woman, and so talented. For indoor plants I have a cactus that was my great grandmothers that I treasure. Thanks for sharing your stories.
Avatar f tn How is your estrogen and your DHEA-S? When your doc tests your testosterone, does he test bio-available testosterone, and does the doc test sex binding hormones, LH, FSH, to get the entire pic of your androgens and how your body is using the testosterone? Estrogen and testosterone and very very closely related - so it could be that your testosterone is simply converting over to estrogen instead of staying as testosterone. This cannot be controlled really - it just happens.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
1245440 tn?1268603885 s doctor had done early training in Haiti and told me I had been cursed, but prepared a white paste in an eggcup. After applying it for two days, the lesion was gone. He and I became friends, and he told me of other voodoo cures he had witnessed that defied western medecine. Both involved leaves - one packed into the cavity of a recently removed tooth to grow a new tooth in its place, and the other wadded up and stuffed into the nostrils to cure migraine permanently.
Avatar f tn I've had man boobs for years now. I'm not overweight at all. I'm a little over 6 ft and about 180 lbs. I looked it up and it's supposed to go away after a while, but it's still there. I'm over 17 and I've had this problem since like the 6th grade. It's obviously not going away. I tried working out, but that only really built muscle and didn't do anything at all. Should I get my hormones tested or do I not have to worry?
Avatar f tn Hi all, would really appreciate help with this. I started developing a rash under my arms six weeks ago and it has since spread all over my chest stomach and thighs. The ratchet is not itchy and I've already done a weeks course of allergic reaction tablets and used a cream for fungal infections. It's really beginning to annoy me that I can not get rid of it ! Any info on this would be great!
1563533 tn?1345366296 That's an excellent idea, allmymarbles! Mimi, i have the same trouble with one of my young (7 mo old) cats. Catnip is a great diversion. Also I do now try to keep my plants up and away from his reach or the bigger plants in a room where he can't get to them. After a month or two I will re-introduce the plants, one at a time and hope the behavior has been re-directed... I think they do get better around plants as they get older.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
