Avatar n tn Then with that --- levels of progesterone and testosterone are unbalanced with the amount of estrogen and cortisol building. So now instead of a sluggish thyroid disorder holding you back - Almost your whole endocrine system is out of whack. Then insulin falls and spikes then organs start to be harmed. Symptoms can alert a person of these changes happening.
Avatar f tn You might start with a formula based on cramp bark, black cohosh (balances estrogen), and vitex, also known as chaste tree berry (balances progesterone). There are progesterone creams that also might help. Some find help with DHEA, a hormonal prescursor, but care has to be taken with this. Many combine this with pregnenalone, another hormone precursor, but again, this also increases testosterone, so watch for side effects if you go this route.
759027 tn?1234208801 I had my hormons checked my FSH, LH and Estrogen are fine also my Thyroid came back fine. I had a positive OPK on the 15th of March and that would mean I should have started on Monday but I had a temp dip on the 20th which if that was when I Ovulated I would have started Friday.
Avatar n tn 1 When absorbed, DIM promotes estrogen metabolism to produce healthy and cancer-protective 2-hydroxy estrogens,2 and minimizes the activity of pro-inflammatory enzymes,3 thereby reducing cellular inflammation. Activating these pathways encourages remarkable weight loss and hormonal balance and provides many other benefits towards healthy aging.
1553360 tn?1355848431 provera is a estrogen hormone pill the same thing we have during pms just curious did it work cause it didnt work for me
Avatar f tn s because my thyroid was working slowly and I also naturally produced too much estrogen. I would get pms at about 3 weeks in and pms symptoms are similar to early pregnancy symptoms. I would always think I was pregnant but was not. So, this very well could be going on. Again, blood work would tell you. You should see your doctor for determination.
Avatar f tn ve been reading about as I asked for progesterone and estrogen testing - thyroid was not something I considered. Thanks for any help or insight.
358971 tn?1330888975 I am sorry that you are not having luck right now, but I am sure it is just PMS.. Before I was pregnant when I was going through PMS I would get really bloated and look like I had gained weight.... I wish you the best.....
Avatar f tn I have to make sure I watch this and keep close tabs on it. No one needs to suffer my PMS wrath. and C. bloating. When I get my period, I crave meat as in red meat. I eat very little red meat but I will have a steak of hamburger at that time. And my bloating pretty much immediately goes away, along with the sweet cravings and easily irritated thing. but look for it the week before your period.
Avatar f tn ve read that estrogen dominance can lead to abdominal bloating, excess white discharge, and breast changes as well. I have never had bad PMS symptoms before this. My period has not come yet, I'm not sure when it will, and I started taking birth control pills today. I am not pregnant, and there is no possibility that I could be. What's causing the delay of my period, and is it the excess estrogen causing all of these changes? What can I do?
Avatar m tn t pregnant (and almost had a glass of wine I was so sure) b/c I was cramping and felt like I was having PMS symptoms. But I was actually pregnant. And I don't think you would have actual PMS symptoms before the embryo transfer. So, my advice is to try to focus on other things (I know, it seems impossible) and try to ignore any cramps or twinges. Good luck. I know the wait is truly awful...
Avatar n tn I have read that too much estrogen causes fibroids, and that hormones can contribute to anxiety. (PMS) I also started to have panic attacks a few months after starting the BC pill and have wondered if that was the cause.
Avatar f tn Maybe try a mood stabilizer, good for pms AND ibs. Works well for me for both of these.
Avatar n tn Kava kava has always helped me with PMS and now with menopausal type symptoms. Also, 3000 mg of Primrose Oil and a Flaxseed and Fish oil per day really seem to help me. I especially notice that I have more hot flashes and irritiblity when I run out of the Primrose Oil for a while. As I said, my feelings about natural or synthetic hormone replacement is a personal decision, but I think we sometimes try to force our bodies to do what it says it's time to stop doing.
Avatar f tn I had a slow working thyroid as well as I produced too much estrogen. And there is a huge link between a slow thyroid and depression as if one will so often cause the other. So, I worked on the depression only in terms of what I actually treated. Whether coincidence or not, my hormones went back to normal and my thyroid went back to normal. That's just my story. You need to see a doctor to figure out what your story is for why you have long, unpredictable cycles.
Avatar f tn 75 within 2 months) 6 weeks after stopping BCP because my TSH was at 3.98 - thought to be slightly hypo and the cause og my symptoms - and it stopped the crazy menstruation, but not the extremely heavy bleeding OR the pelvic pain. And it made me have hot flashes AND my hair to come out by the handful. After 6 months of suffering on Synthroid, I got off of it.
1904182 tn?1363253974 Reduce saturated fats from meat and dairy sources to below 10% of calories. 4 - 6 small meals can reduce cravings and ease mood swings. Alcohol and caffeine may worsen PMS. Try to get enough daily calcium (1200 mg) and magnesium (200 - 400 mg). Low levels of calcium for woman with PMS is solid, less for magnesium, You should be taking both of these for bone health. Vitamin B6 (50 mg / day) combined with Chaste Tree (Vitex Fruit) take Nature’s Way Vitex, 400 mg a day. Try for 3-months.
Avatar f tn t showing in public, and on top of the nipple sensitivity,My breast are VERY Tender and sore, the last couple of days, has seemed to lessen in pain, but definitely still sore and tender?? My cycle is 27 days,My next period due to start on 1/20,My husband and I have talked about TTC,but haven't really put much effort in to it, If anyone has experience this and if so what was their results?
Avatar f tn Sounds like your estrogen is low. Have your doc check your hormone levels. You might have a cyst or something else going on.
Avatar f tn Sticking to a low-salt regimen while increasing intake of fluids and potassium-rich foods is often effective in preventing bloating You may also experience relief by restricting your alcohol and caffeine consumption, since alcohol is a depressant and diuretic that can worsen PMS headaches and fatigue and can accentuate depression. Caffeine, on the other hand, is a stimulant, and can contribute to anxiety, irritability and painful breast tenderness.
Avatar f tn I am now on estrogen replacement, bioidentical estrogen and Im sooooo much better. It takes alittle while to tweak the dose but it is so much better. Fat cells do produce estrogen, but it is not the most effective estrogen so I would say you need some replacement. I hope this helps. We have all been through this.
1381173 tn?1279170306 Does anyone have any suggestions or guesses if it is PMS or Early Pregnancy? I am 28 days like clock work and tomorrow will be day 25.
Avatar f tn She was wary of trying more antidepressants as felt my body is too sensitive and i was glad of that. She decided to try Estrogen which is the gel and to apply once a day and to start to apply the 16th day after start of my period and to carry on until the 3rd day of my period then stop. The thing is i am wondering how i can benefit from stop starting it as how will my body get used to it?
1638247 tn?1300467050 I've always been heavier than everyone else, even though I ate less and exercised more. But from the age of eight onward, I began gaining a lot of weight for no reason. No matter how little I eat or rigorously I work out, my body won't respond to diet or exercise. At one point, I was living on 200 cals a day while strength training and arobics morning, noon, and night.
