Avatar n tn I take antivert for symptoms but am regularly taking estrogen, pepsid and other gerd medications. Anyone have experience with vertigo lasting months? however mild, this still is quite bothersome.
Avatar m tn Hi! Your mother needs to get examined to rule out a few things such as low blood pressure, postural hypotension, cervical spinal nerve compression, hypoglycemia, severe anemia, an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), GERD, and internal ear infections. FSH, LH, estrogen and progesterone should also be tested. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Avatar f tn Well, my gyno says she would like me to be on estrogen only if my labs come back showing it's needed because she says she worries about osteoperosis. I do not have a uterus so I don't need progesterone she says. I have no idea about any of this because I had my uterus removed 10 years ago and I pretty much forgot about it. But her concern is that I'm only 43 and I"m very thin with all of these thyroid issues along with the whole GERD and taking prilosec everyday.
Avatar f tn ve been reading, everything in our endocrine system is very interrelated, I was reading the other day about how our estrogen levels can affect our serotonin levels, for instance, and the serotonin not only effects our moods, but even our appetite and digestion, which might explain why so many women complain of GERD and other digestive issues during menopause.
Avatar n tn i have headaches everyother day and sometimes with very sharp pains and its so bad i just have to stop what am doing and hold my head and i take pain medications and i dont help and after a while it stop and this is every other day please help what could this be
Avatar n tn Gerd causes my heart to beat fast. (It affects my breathing and causes my food to get stuck when it gets really bad.) My cardiologist told me (after many heart tests turned out normal and I was finally diagnosed with gerd) that you have nodes in your esophagus and when your esophagus gets inflamed it can trigger your heart to beat faster. Have you stayed on the Prilosec for a while? The first time I took it it took about 2 months for all my symptoms to go away.
Avatar f tn Could I have something wrong with my adrenals/cortisol? hormone prob- estrogen/progesterone? or are they right and I should treat the symptom of depression (not the source) and I should suck it up and take anti-depressents? Where do I turn to when I am being blown off? Should I be taking certain vit and supplements? Currently: -Sedating Exhaustion all day- debilitating- feel a little better at night- biggest issue! -Constipation -Vision- dry eye?
175890 tn?1253729525 Hi there I have just started on Estrogel one pump a day and a 2% Natural progesterone cream one pump a day, I have had my blood checked and my Estrogen is low and the tests showed I was in Menopause. I am 53 years old I had a partial Hysterectomy 18 years ago. I have been also diagnosed with Gerd and take prevacid for that twice a day. I have several Menopause symptoms and this is why the doctor put me on BHRT after a lengthy discussion about the ins and outs.

Avatar m tn I also get acne as a result of my thyroid issues (as it messes with estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels). The bloating and intestinal issues definitely could be related. I recently had a colonoscopy and the biopsy of my small intestine was "abnormal probably due to celiac disease". However, blood tests came back negative for celiac.
Avatar m tn I take Siberian Eleuthero (Ginseng) and Magnesium glycinate to help me make estrogen and build my bones. I have osteopenia also. For her stomach problems, I think she should be taking acidophilus and enzymes. I stopped taking PPIs and started taking Gluten Cutter from Walmart as it contains over 10 different enzymes. (I recently had surgery on my esophagus because of GERD) but find that these enzymes help me so much more than anti acids. I hope this information is helpful.
Avatar f tn I have been seeing a Gastroenterologist and have numerous test done and have been diagnosed with GERD and Barretts Esophagus and IBS. I take medication and watch what I eat but nothing helps. I had a CT Scan for these problems and it showed a cystic mass on my ovary so I had to go to my Gyn and had a Pelvic Sonogram. I have read that sometimes Ovarian Cancer can have the same symptoms as these other problems. Is that true?
405855 tn?1217100767 What is the correlation of estrogen and follicles? What should the estrogen number be before ovulation. Can this number be affected if you are taking Femara. On CD11, I had 5 follis - 20, 15, 18, 17, 16, 12 but my estrogen was only 23, is it possible? My lining was so think 4 mm only.
Avatar f tn I remember that prior to starting treatment in Sept 09, I read somewhere that being post menopause would be a negative strike against me but I still opted to NOT take estrogen. I have been in surgical menopause since 1996, I took estrogen for 10 years and then quit because of the increased chance of breast cancer after taking estrogen so many years. I finished treatment (without taking estrogen since 2006) and I achieved SVR.
Avatar m tn I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving. My hair thinned, I started getting fat round my waste and on my chest giving me the dreaded man boobs look. The stress and lack of sleep got so bad at times that I often forgot what day it was and could not sleep or stop my hands from shaking. Now the problem remains and I can't get rid of it. My DHEA is fine and so is my testosterone.
Avatar m tn three months ago I had Pnemonia and even with using bi -est, I am having hot flashes and night sweats which has never happened to me on a constant basis. My husband thinks the pnemunia/fever rearranged my hormones and it will take awhile for them to settle down. I am 57 and was pretty stable on the bi-est. has this ever happened to anyone else?? Thx!
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
Avatar f tn I am new to this forum, and new to the world of menopause. I recently had my last ovary removed due to cysts and endometreosis. I did not want to go through menopause or life with no estrogen at age 35, so I opted for the estrogen hormone therapy. I chose to go with the Estradiol patches. I think that it regulates the estrogen more efficiently and you can't forget to take a pill! Let me give you my two cents on your issues...know that I am not a dr., but am going through this myself.
587083 tn?1327120262 Soy and estrogen: I've read much conflicting information about this, but what I believe we can say for sure is that soy products (soy milk, tofu, edamame) supply a weak form of estrogen from plant sources, called phytoestrogens. With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
