Does anyone have experience with Celexa?

Sometimes you need to find which drug works best for you. What works for some, does not work for others. I think you will get well on the medication that suits you. You should not get too many side effects when you find the right one. Give it a bit more time, and see how you feel. If after 2 weeks, there is no difference, go back to the doctor. You may, or may not get out of this depression, but I think anti-depressants will help. Let us know how you are feeling now.

For the Celexa, if you are already on the Paxil, it will not be very dangerous to try it since your brain is already used to the extra serotonin level, you can switch from the Paxil to the Celexa without a washout period of time... you can try the Celexa for one day and see what happen? The Celexa and the Lexapro are apparently the easier SSRI's to take, they don't give a lot of side-effects.... BUT again everyone is different...

i started on celexa 20 mg almost a year ago for anxiety/postpardum. for the celexa to reach it's full max you have to give it up to three months. that's what my doctor/friend told me and it held true. i went to see my doctor today b/c of horrible aniexty lately and he choose to up the dose to 40 mg and said it would take about a month for me to feel any change - i've already been on it for about a year.

Celexa does not give me fatigue but I do take it at bedtime like I did with the Zoloft. The Celexa does not work as well as the zoloft did but it took many many months for the zoloft to kick in so hoping someday the celexa works just as well.

All I have heard from my fellow co workers who work in mental health is that celexa maybe isnt the drug for me and my anxiety and panic issues?... anyone have advice to how long I should give celexa before I try something else?...

Can anyone tell me how long it will take for the Celexa to begin to work on my anxiety. I wake up feeling anxious and nauseated. Does it really take 4-6 weeks for this medication to kick in? Would be great if anyone has any advice on this.

hi my doctor is putting my wife on celexa for her anxiety and panic attacks, i was wondering does anyone take it and how it makes you feel, she has been taking buspar for 3 days and i think it made her worse and help would be greatly aprreciated

Some will have less. Celexa is an ssri, the most used antidepressants for anxiety sufferers. While Celexa works on serotonin, Effexor works on both serotonin and norepinephrine, and the latter is one of the brain's stimulants.

He didn't really say much. Just upped my dosage of Celexa, gave me more ativan and ordered some blood work. I'm supposed to call my regular physician on Monday.

i am on t4 and t3 meds and frees are still under midrange..........and the ad does not work anymore and hasnt for 3 years...........i am scared for my brain after being like this so long and not getting the hashi diagnosis............all docs thought i was a nutcase.............have you been on ad's for a long time.............i was doing fine for 8 years and then it stopped working...........pdoc thinks i had hashi all this time..........

I seriously thought I was losing my mind. I went to the doctor and the prescribed klopolin and celexa 10mg. How long does it take for the celexa to kick in. I just want to feel like myself again.

i am looking into researching celexa for my depression. i am on wellbutrin sr and it isnt doing anything for me i have an eating disorder and am very concerned about the weight gain or increased appetite part of any medications. does this have an affect on anyone? please be honest.

I just figured am I taking this for no reason? When I stopped the klonopin for a few days I was having panic attacks then once i started taking klonopin again I felt so much better thank God! I started out on 10mgs of celexa and noe I'm up to 40 I'm still taking .5mgs Of clonazepam. It takes 4 weeks+ to get the full effects of celexa so I wouldnt stop the benzodiazepine until you've Been taking celexa for a while. I have experience no side effects on celexa.

major weight gain. The Celexa site states it does not cause weight gain. Ask a few million people. It is fast and impossible to get off. 35lbs in 3months. Be careful to watch your weight. I looked into it and found it is used to treat anorexia and bulimia. Maybe there is something in the chemical composition that reacts drastically different with some people. I hope it works for you.

i feel good taking the klonopin in the morning at the same time as my celexa. im just wondering is the celexa supposed to work on my anxiety? just confused i guess?

My question is if there is anyone that takes celexa and does well with it and has bipolar I? I feel great right now. I feel optimistic, I feel motivated and I don't feel guilty, depressed, like i was feeling just a few weeks ago, and now I'm afraid that now that I have a new diagnosis they will remove me from celexa.
