636891 tn?1365202536 love your Sunday breakfast. Are you on diabetes meds? I am on insulin and metformin. I don't know what your med/no med regime is. That meal would be okay for me minus the bagel :( I possibly could eat half of a small one, and take more insulin......... I often eat cheerio's too with skim milk. They just don't fill me up at all. I also can be an emotional eater, which I fight hard to change........thanks for your info!
Avatar m tn I think one of the biggest things we can do for prevention of developing type 2 diabetes is weight control. Keeping ourselves at an optimal weight really seems to be a direct impactful thing we can do. Is your BMI in the safe range? Do you exercise?
Avatar f tn Hi, I recently had my annual physical and my fasting blood sugar was 107. My Dr. said it was fine and I don't have diabetes but I read online that 107 is considered pre-diabetes That scared me because diabetes runs in my family. I have always been extremely thin. I am 5'4' and 98lbs. I'm trying to watch my carbs and have been exercising to hopefully prevent diabetes from developing. The problem is I'm losing weight..
Avatar f tn Just found out I have gestational diabetes. Does anyone have a meal plan or snack ideas?
Avatar f tn t believe I have it, with my bs readings they seem within the norm non diabetic range... My lowest first thing in morning is 4.9 before breakfast.. Going upto 7.3 2hrs after eating breakfast... Confused!
480448 tn?1426948538 Adopting lifestyle changes make a HUGE difference in the chance of developing pre-diabetes or diabetes. Also, if you have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, NOW is the time to make those changes, to prevent the disease from progressing. Basic Prevention Tips: 1. Weight management. If you are overweight, try to shed some of those pounds. Obviously, the more, the better. If you are at an ideal weight, maintain it and try to avoid weight gain.

Avatar m tn BUT I CHECK MY BLOOD SUGAR, BEFORE MY BREAKFAST RESULT IS 5.44mmol/L, 98mg/dl, I TOOK 4 SMALL HOME MADE BREAD AND VEGETABLES WITH SHRIMPS, AFTER BREAKFAST MY SUGAR LEVEL WAS 9.38mmol/L, 169mg/dl. Can u say, what is it?
Avatar f tn What do you ladies eat for breakfast? I can't really find anything that I like..or that sounds good. I hate eggs, so please don't say eggs lol. I want some healthy ideas that are also filling.
Avatar n tn The best approach to diabetes is, of course, prevention. You have to make a conscious effort towards making lifestyle changes. Making lifestyles changes to ones diet is not awful, not difficult. Instead of trying to figure out what not to eat focus on what you should eat. Avoid white foods [pasta, rice, breads, crackers, potatoes] as these quickly turn into sugar after digestion.
Avatar f tn I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, another snack, and dinner. I do cheat sometimes, but my goal is to keep insulin regulated. I don't drink soda or fruit juice, just water and the occasional coffee. Any advice on diabetes prevention? I definitely don't want to develop that, and I want my body to be at its fat burning peak. Thanks!
4658567 tn?1364142123 I was alternating pricking my fanger before then after breakfast the first day then before and after breakfast again but then an hr after lunch and dinner that same day. I was borderline and one doctor was even trying to put me on insulin cause of my blood sugar first thing in the morning was a little high but I changed my diet and exercised everyday and then my levels went down.
180395 tn?1287493997 First off let me start by saying I have never been diagnosed as having diabetes. So I hope you dont mind me posting here. I am a 26yo female, not over weight or anything like that. I have a family history of diabetes on both my mom and dads side. I have been having episodes lately that my doctor has not really been much help with telling me what has been causing them. It started with spell of feeling lightheaded and kinda foggy and feeling as though I were going to pass out.
Avatar f tn I have Gestational diabetes you want to limit your carbs..since carbs turn into surgar eat every meal and stay away from sugar that includes natural sugars like in fruits and juices.

5536886 tn?1455827346 I just heard about a program offered in a local hospital that is for the education of diabetes prevention- it looked really awesome! I'm thinking about checking it out further to see what information they have- do you have a program like this in your area? Have you checked it out and gotten any new information? Was it helpful for you?
