Avatar n tn I'm 18wks with my third. I have a 7 and 5 year old. I'm also very short tempered these days and lose my **** very easily. I've explained to both my Kids that being pregnant makes me tired and cranky excuse of all the changes my body is making. My 5 year old has a little bit of understanding and my 7 year old understands completely. I make sure I apologize if I know I blew something out of proportion because its important that thy know that I make mistakes also.
Avatar n tn I once put my foot down and snapped a tendon in the ball of my foot, and broke a small bone. I have diabetes and have noticed if I am not keeping my sugar under control that the ball of my feet will swell. Not sure if you are having that however I would imagine it could add to the pain. Are you having any numbness? It is a good idea (as a diabetic) to check your feet often to make sure you have not damaged any part. My doctor explained that we can hurt ourselves and not know.
Avatar n tn Yes, these are all symptoms of type I diabetes in children. My child was wetting the bed, extremely thirsty all the time and was vomiting; his vomiting, we think, was contributed to a stomach virus he had at the time. We took him to the ER due to dehydration -they did a blood chemistry and his blood sugar was 399-they immediately admitted him to ICU and he was put on IV insulin. He's been a diabetic now for 3 years-he's now 9. He's has handled it amazingly well!
Avatar n tn There are some studies that say if you breastfeed, there is something in the breast milk that protects the child from that higher predisposition to getting diabetes. That means breastfed kids who have diabetic moms have the same chance of getting diabetes as normal kids instead of that higher chance without the breast feeding. Good night and good luck.
Avatar n tn Both set of parents have come together and talk to both children at the same time and explained this type of behavior is not appropriate behavior. How would you handle this situation? and it this something we should be concern with?
Avatar n tn m glad to say that i dont think you have diabetes, i have suffered form diabetes type 1 for nearly 7 years. Normaly in the onset of diabetes you will be constantly thirsty, needing to urinate alot, have a lack of energy and feel sick, they are the common simptoms for diabetes. In the onset your sugar level will be high not lower and will normaly be the start if DKA (diabetes ketone acidocis). 7.7 is an good level.
15695260 tn?1549593113 The research followed participants for 15 years and tested children when they were very young. They believe this will help delay or prevent diabetes in those predisposed to develop it. https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=170637 Would you test your kids to find out if they are at high risk of developing Type 1 Diabetes?
Avatar f tn prediabetic range is 101-125 fasting and I believe 140-150 post prandial. Do you have a history in your family, child drink excessively or urinate frequently at night? Is there a reason you are checking blood sugars? Need to call pediatrician and might have an A1C test done.
Avatar f tn I'm a 15 yr old with diabetes type 2 and i'm in need of major support to get through all this! When i found out that i had diabetes at the age of 12 i thought it was just like a virus or something, but i never thought that it was gonna be like a battle field! i can't enjoy most of the things that other kids my age enjoy. Turns out that having diabetes type 2 is ALOT harder of getting rid of (if possible) than i thought.
Avatar n tn Give that kid some ice cream or something with carbs in it. Then see what happens some kids use a lot of energy pack that boy full of carbs.

920032 tn?1550680156 Your posted numbers imply readings measured in mmol/L. This standard is used in Europe not in the USA. When posting test numbers it's important to let us know which standard you are using. Makes a huge difference. Did your home test meter come with a User Guide? Most do which explains how to correctly use the meter. If not you can always Google the make and model number as most manufacturers post "How To" guides online.
Avatar f tn When they took your urine did they find sugar in it ? Like before a month before you took the test? they found traces of sugar in my urine and supposedly that doesn't happen unless you have something like gestational diabetes.. Thank you so much I'm feeling a lot better because I know a lot of people who have it now but yes I'd love to hear your meal plans !
Avatar f tn @ Kennimae- Thank you. I just hope the three hour one doesn't make me sick since its really early in the morning! I hope this one comes out better then.
Avatar n tn She was diagnosed with diabetes by a doctor in another state. She was taken off of diabetes medication due to concerns of kidney damage. Her nephrologist said her kidneys were fine a month or two ago. He requested blood work prior to her followup appointment. Her glucose levels were at 480. He thought it was strange that her primary care physician wasn't doing anything to control her glucose levels. He told her to contact her doctor immediately in regards to high blood glucose.

Avatar n tn I have been diabetic for 26 years and along with my diabetes I got graves disease(over-active thyroid) and my doctor told me this can go hand in hand with diabetes. So being cautious and informed is good.
Avatar f tn [My reference to the study you presented was only in respect to the association between HCV and diabetes, not between interferon and diabetes, therefore my use of the word "irony". Hopefully that was clear, but if not, I'll try and summarize what I said again.] I have to respond that I don't know how it could be clear because you never even mentioned HCV or hepatitis c and that was the point of the article I posted.
Avatar n tn little kids kiss all the time.....they see parents do it, therefore in their little minds, they "love" each other and kiss each other on the cheek....lordy, i wish my mammaw could recall how many "weddings" she attended, with curtains for veils, and sunday dresses for gowns.....and we were all under 7....children aren't really thinking 'sex', they're thinking...ok where's MINE and why is YOURS different? therefore, the other kid asks the same question...
