I had a blood test done and it shows my glucose level to be low at 68 (range 80-110). Is it normal for your glucose levels to be low at certain times during the day, i.e., if you haven't eaten for a couple hours, etc.? I have a couple auto-immune diseases and have had gestational diabetes. It runs in the family. I just don't know what is considered a red flag when tested. Thanks for any advice!

they do have guidelines to tell what number is high. if your glucose level came up to be a bit above normal then you might be considered prediabetic. prediabetes means you you have a chance of being diabetic if you didn't change your eating habits, exercise and so on. If you start to incorporate healthy lifestyles, then you would have a chance of being normal again. hope this helps!

Hi, i made up an OGTT test (75 gr) and my glucose level after 2 hours is 43 mg/dl which can be a hypoglycemia. If his blood sugar had been low, cereal is not the proper treatment as it will not raise glucose quickly enough. Glucose tablets are much more accurate and rapid. He needs to learn more about managing his blood sugar.

Hi, the American Diabetes Association recommends a post-meal glucose level less than 180 mg/dl and pre-meal plasma glucose of 90–130 mg/dl. Please note that the postmeal glucose level is taken two hours after the meal. You should also consistently check these levels as a single abnormal value doesn't mean diabetes. I hope this helps.
