So I've been on depo for 9.months now and got my renewal shot and antibiotics for 10 days on the same day, how long should I wait before having unprotected sex? How will they effect eachother????

My girlfriend started using the depo-provera shot about a month ago. We abstained from sex for a week after the injection just to be safe. Two weeks after the injection we had to make a visit to her family practice doctor because we had a hunch that she had a bladder infection. We were right. The doctor prescribed her to take 250 mg of Ciprofloxacin twice daily and of course Phenazopyridine for the pain.

m outside the normal range of time after stopping Depo Provera to have gotten my periods back. Could Depo be causing these problems or does it sound like something else could be a problem?

I get pregnant pretty easily and was on depo, like the other ladies that was my only form of birth control, and I never got pregnant while on it and got pregnant just as I had before after I stopped it!! Quick question... which Depo are you on? There are two kinds, that I'm aware of: Depo Provera or Depo Lupron. I had tried the Provera when I was about 16 for about a year. I had to stop because I could not handle the side effects any longer. I did spot for about 3 months. It usually takes a few months for your system to get used to it. The Lupron stops your period completely and basically puts your body into menopause, which is the one I am currently on.

i agree with gillianl depo is evil, i have been off depo for a year and it made me really ill and i only had two shots not even a full course. my knees are crumbled and my period pains are so bad i have to stay in bed and they come when they feel like it.

it dosent really happen alot i have alot of wierd things going on with me everysince i took the depo shot ive been to the er because of headachs and anxity they said im fine nothings wrong but i always feel wierd

H If you were my patient, i would advise you that the depo provera injection can be an excellent method of birth control. It is 99% effective and requires only that the patient have 4 injections per year. It is important to take a calcium supplement while using depo provera. Weight gain is probably the worst side effect. Hope this helps!

I missed a dose of Depo provera by 7 days now. I know that I am not pregnant due to no intercourse. My question is do I still have to wait until I get a cycle? What if I dont have a cycle for several months, in the past my cycle was abnornal to begin with. If I have the depo without being on my cycle will I still be protected? I started the depo Aug. 2008. And had never missed a dose until this time. My dose was due May 1, 2009. Can anyone help me with this???
