Constant cycle brought on BCPs, Depo Provera, Depo Lupron, etc. and eventually, the fertilaty doc that administered the Depo Lupron told me I would not be able to have kids (at 17 I was told that). Had 2 Endometreiosis surgeries in addition to this. Nothing helped. At 21 I got pregnant (what a shock). Cycle was ok after that, but with gradual return of pain. At 27 had another child. Unable to breastfeed (which I was not entirely unhappy about) and had no leakage after cessation.

m outside the normal range of time after stopping Depo Provera to have gotten my periods back. Could Depo be causing these problems or does it sound like something else could be a problem?

So I started Depo provera 2 weeks and 2 days ago and I had unprotected sex 7 days after the shot and I was worried and called my docter to see if.it.was going to be effective they said yes cuz its been a week & I jus had unprotected sex again the second week after taking depo but dis time he cummed in me but im kind kind of worried should I be? Ive felt growls in tummy I feel naseus somtimes & the day before yesterday I ate once & didnt wana eat again...

I received my first depo provera shot in march 2010, my last shot was in april 2011. While I was on Depo I had a period every 3 months right before I was due for my next shot. I was due for my last shot in July but Decided I wanted to stop taking birth control. I got my period as expected and then didn't get the shot. A week later i got my period again, and then about 2 or 2 1/2 weeks i got my period again. Now it has been about 5 weeks without a period.

not sure about the breast feeding part but a lot of women on this site might agree with me to stay clear of depo-provera. I was on this bc for 2 and a half years and have been ttc for the same length of time with no joy. I am little confused by your question. The depo provera shot is given once every three months not for three months at some unspecified interval. If you mean that you received the depo shot 4 months ago, and hence, the last month, you did not get a repeat depo shot, then the answer to your question is, yes, you can get pregnant. I was on the depo shot for about 5 years before stopping to try to conceive. It took me 3 years to conceive my son who is 6 years old.

Hello, Irregular bleeding like you describe is a common side effect of Depo Provera. Your girlfriend should have been counseled about this possibility when initiated on the medication. Hi ladies. My last depo provera shot ran out in november and i never got it renewed as i was having bad side effects and i wanted to come off all contraceptives to let my body sort itself out. Its now nearly april and i havnt had any signs of a period apart from stomach cramps now andagain. Welcome to the side effects of Depo Provera! :) It takes A LOT of time to get used to the drug and yes, all that you're experiencing with the mood swings, lower abdominal pains, etc. are just normal side effects. Damaging to someone is a possibility. Did the doctor explain to you the side effects and what happens to your bones the longer you're on the stuff? I was on it for 3 years and had... somewhat problems at the end.

Quick question... which Depo are you on? There are two kinds, that I'm aware of: Depo Provera or Depo Lupron. I had tried the Provera when I was about 16 for about a year. I had to stop because I could not handle the side effects any longer. I did spot for about 3 months. It usually takes a few months for your system to get used to it. The Lupron stops your period completely and basically puts your body into menopause, which is the one I am currently on.
