Just from my experence I was on depo shot and you have signs of pregnancy and are not pregnant and there is no way possiable you could feel you baby kick so soon you don't start feeling any movement until your about 4months pregnant I had a baby about 5months ago tomorrow is 5months and well I didn't actually really feel him move until I was 4months along maybe a lil ferther and I had a m/c on the depo shot the shot was in my systom but the shot killed the baby well anyways I don't think a baby
I have never had a regular period, and have gone as long as a year without a period (on the Depo shot). I'm currently back on the Depo Provera (3 mo. kind), near the end of my third shot. Shortly after I started taking it again my period started flowing and has only stopped for breaks no longer than 3 days. I don't know if my birth control has anything to do with it at all, but I figured I would make sure I added that in there.
Can Depo cause me to go thru menopause early? And if so how can I reverse or prolong this from happening.
I called the doctor again and said that I was still bleeding, and they told me that I could either come and take the 2nd shot early or wait it out. I waited a week to see if the bleeding would hopefully stop, and it didn't. I went back at the end of February to get my second shot. The bleeding persisted for two weeks afterwards and then stopped. After three days of no bleeding, it started up again. I have been bleeding ever since.
Then I started having hot flashes, night sweats, come to find out at 23yrs old I was expericing early menopause due to the depo. The doctors wanted to put me on the estrogen pill to help but I decided to get off the depo and never get it again.
I was given a shot of depo-provera yesterday...and when I asked about side affects all I was told was nausea, headache, and dizziness. After reading quite a few articles online, it seems there are a lot more serious side affects than I was led to believe. I've been having lots of chest pain and shortness of breath, but the doctor doesn't seem to think it's related to the shot.
One thing I noticed during my internet search was a number of results discussing Depo Provera and how it has caused the onset of early menopause in women even in their 20’s. Has anyone else heard about this, and if so, are there other resources I can review to get more information on this correlation? Thanks, I just have to know what is causing this!
Well, had the first Depo-Provera shot today. Hopefully my body adjusts alright and this helps with keeping the endo at bay. Has anyone used the Depo for endometriosis? What kind of experiences did you have? I'm kinda curious, but also thinking that maybe I jumped into the waters before seeing if there were sharks. :) (To reiterate, I was given three choices: oral BC, Depo, or Lupron. Opted against the Lupron for the vast scary side effects.
You girls have to discontinue Depo Provera at once and I highly recommend never putting any hormones into your bodies ever again. I have experienced a living nightmare from Depo Prover for the past three years. After I got the Depo shot I went home and researched on the web about the drug. I cried for three hours in fear that that could happen to me. What happened was worse. Five days after the shot a menstrual cycle started that would not cease. It wasn't a normal cycle.
I joked w/friends that it was early menopause. I'm only 36 so am beginning to think that it may have been the depo. I was also 125 before the depo and am now 155. I'm concerned in reading everyone else's posts about the bleeding..and am hoping that the pill will help regulate that. Does anyone have any feedback on this matter?
I wonder what the difference between the two depo shots are and I wonder why my gyno recommended the other depo shot if the depo-subq provera 104 shot is specific for endo ?
I will never go on Depo Provera again. My daughter was on Depo Provera at college, and discontinued the shot and has lost that weight and is thin again. Fitday.com's free site has helped me keep up with my carb intake, and also tells me how many calories, how much fat etc. I use. It does this automatically when I put my food in for the day. Also Magic Bus has a forum where you can learn how to lose weight quick and even post on a challenge to keep you honest and responsible.
I am worried because my husband and I want to give our daughter some brothers and sisters and I have heard of women getting thrown into early menopause because of this condition. Could it be possible I am premenopausal at only 25? Or could I possibly have endometrial cancer? My anxiety levels are through the roof with this. My hubby and I have an appointment to go see a fertility doctor on the 7th, but that seems so long away. Please help!
I was on depo for about a month after my son was born, and I said never again. I'm now having alot of problems and I'm not sure if its from that or just other things. I would say go get checked out to be safe. I have my period that last me for 2 months straight but this time it lasted 2 months straight took 1 week off, started back up and now its still on an every other day routine.
I had two chocolate cysts that were around 6 cm x 6 cm x 6 cm, the size of a tennis ball. My gynecologist wants me to take depo provera until I am in menopause. I am only 41. I refuse to take it afraid of all the side effects. I agree we are almost made to feel like we HAVE to take it. My surgeon was very forceful about me having to take it. She does not know I never filled the prescription. Not even willing to take Alesse the birth control pill. I am just waiting and seeing.
hi took provera for 5 days and i have not had my period yet it's been 4 days since i took the pills and still no sign of my period any help?????? please!!!!!!!!!
I was on the DEPO-PROVERA shot for about 10 years, I have been off of the shot for 2 years now and have, at least I thought, were regular periods, except for being 5 days early. My question is; could this be early menopause? I plan to have my first child within the next couple of years. I would also like to know if alchohol could play a part in an early period if it is consumed everyday.
Serves as the primary ‘”reservoir” of estrogen, and dominant estrogen remaining AFTER menopause. It is produced primarily in the ovaries, body fat, and breast. E2, Estradiol; Serves as the primarily active estrogen BEFORE menopause and is LOST at menopause when follicles are gone. It is produced primarily in the ovaries with some made from testosterone in the brain, breast, and muscle. E3, Estriol; A weak estrogen made by the placenta during pregnancy.
I called my doctor and explained to her that It was working for the first week I took it and also explained to her about the black discharge (or old blood) And she said that the Provera is probably taking longer than usual to take effect and told me to continue taking it and keep my appointment with her February 16. I also read somewhere that if you have abnormal bleeding and the doctor cannot figure out why, NOT to take Provera??
Yes there is pain. I believe Depo started this. There is no history in my family of early menopause/ pre-menopause or Osteoporosis. I am now going through several test w/my OB GYN. I don't want to take any meds or do any treatment that would increase bone loss? Anyone experiencing this problem?
Does anyone know anything about Asherman's Syndrome or how early a baby can be taken out (and what chances they have to live?)! Please help answer my questions if you can!!! I'm scared and alone!
but im 23 yrs old and about 6/7 months ago i had an abortion, and got the depo provera shot. I only ever had the one shot and read to much bad stuff about it...For about a month now i have been getting my period every 2 weeks along with a bit of dark discharge, back aches and horrible hot flashes, which have cause me to leave work as felt like i was on fire.
thinks either adenomyosis or endo, but she told me if yaz doesnt help the next step might be the depo provera shot I dont know much about it but that may be a possibility for you, or possibly even lupron depo she suggested, even though I think you get many side effects from it. It's like a fake menopause! Well good luck lemme know how things works out!
I used to be such a good sleeper back in the day. I'd go to bed at 10pm and be able to wake up at 10am and feel refreshed. Now, I can't fall asleep until 7-8am and sleep until 4-5pm. It has ruined my life. I've been crying myself to sleep for the past 3 weeks now. This idea of giving endo patients Depo Lupron is a mistake. Who in their right mind would think it's normal to put a 23 year old in menopause?! So now I have to go through menopause not once but twice?
My doc mentioned nothing about PCOS - I was recently 2 weeks late with my period (not preg. and tests showed not peri menopause)...I'm really nervous taking this stuff...I'm 5'3" and weight 180 and most of my weight is on my thighs and stomach....any experience with this stuff as a non diabetic for weight loss I would love to hear more....
I am 38 yrs old and was just diagnosed as having stage of early menopause I am seeing the fertilitist had blood and sonograms, my insurance plan will not cover donnor eggs which I understand but they wont cover the ivf surgery because they dont consider my diagnosis infertility I think this is absurd how can they say that ? has anyone been threw this I am so sad and upset.
I will just add my history to the list and hope it helps. I have had recurrent yeast infections all of my life-since early childhood. I am 24 years old and in 2002 I noticed bumps on the formerly smooth skin, just inside my vulva, toward the vaginal walls. I went to the 8 different doctors about the issue. 5 of the 8 doctors thought I may have genital warts so they treated the warts (with a topical application of acid). But each time the bumps would come back and be more irritated and raw.
All of the women on my mums side of the family started puberty early and went through menopause at 30. It's in my genes, so im not going to be able to have children later on. How DARE you judge everyone to be the same. I was brought up to know that you cannot judge a person on anothers actions! In other words, just because im 18, doesnt mean im the same as every other 18 year old. I think you're a very rude and arrogant person and you should learn not to judge a book by it's cover.
The only thing I have seen that helps the pain is an herbal wrap that you heat up(you can get them @ walmart), and I lay that on my stomach. I have been on the depo shot for four years, I have asked if this is a contributing factor and have been told no. I have no kids. I hope someone comes up with an explanation, because I am too young to be giving up on my sex life!
I'm not having any more children and I have tried everything to stop the pain and bleeding I was told depo provera is only a quick fix for dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I have heavy cycles as well and I pass a lot of large clots. I go through a lot of pads the first 2-3 days. I went through all the tests as well and they came back fine. My gyn found out through my laparoscopy. Let me know how things are going for you. I know going through too many cycles can lead to more serious situations.
