my 5 year old daughter lies down at night, she cannot stop coughing.. she naps in the same bed that day, no cough, but as soon as night comes, and bed time, she coughs all night long.. we have had no sleep in three months.. the drs say it is nothing -- allergies, or a sinus infection, and put us on zurteck and a z-pac.. but it has done nothing..
she has a severe history of upper respitory infections .. from 2 on, 2-3 almost died.. from it..we are at a loss! .. HELP!!!!!!

I've gotten sick /flu/fever 3 weeks ago..Usually my coughing and body aches last about a week..but my coughing has not gone away. I am a smoker for 9 years..but never experienced coughing like this. I cough severley only at night while I'm sleeping..but then the coughing gets better during the day. This coughing has been lasting 3 weeks..and the severe coughing at night which wakes me up has been about 4 days. Is this a sign of HIV or STD?

For the past week i have had this dry cough which starts about 5 o'clock and keeps me coughing till morning Sometimes I cough so much i cant breathe and i feel as if I am going to pass out.There is no mucus and it seems to start with a tickle in my throat and i can feel it in my chest . How can i get relief so i can sleep ?
he isnt allergic to anything and the only symptom he has is the cough..he isnt on any medications and is generally very healthy..cough supprerssants help in that i think they knock him out..but he still wakes up with bouts of the coughing, sometimes until he throws up...during the day he's fine..no coughing at all....
I told him that I was not coughing up blood nor had I been coughing up blood. My family doctor then stated to me that I would cough up blood and then it would be too late for me. I have trusted my family doctor for some years, but I felt this was a very negative statement by him to me. m a 23 year old male, who takes Singuliar, 10mg, daily for asthma symptoms. However for the past few nights, I have been wheezing and coughing in bed at night to the point it disrupts my sleep, leaving me dragging the next day. During the day I do not wheeze and cough, just laying down at night in bed. Should I go see my doctor, or is this something due to change in weather (it has become noticably cooler in this area the past couple days), or something the medication will correct in time?
s difficult to sleep, but when I do, I have night sweats pretty much every night. The cough lingers on weeks and weeks after the rest of my symptoms subside. However, the night sweats started about four or five months ago and have not stopped, even when the other symptoms are not present.
Doctors and family have continually dismissed all of these symptoms. My friends tell me to stop being a baby about a minor cold, but if it's so minor then why does it come back every couple of weeks?
You can try an experiment to see if this is what it is - try feeding your dog a small snack late at night or, if you wake up during the night, give her a cookie or two. If it stops happening when she eats something during the night, then all you have to do to control it is make sure she doesn't go longer than a couple of hours without something in her stomach to absorb the acid.
Is this normal or has someone else experienced this? It keeps me up.

it all started when he has a severe throat and chest infection... which cleared up with antibiotics, but the cough stayed.. this was 6 MONTHS AGO.. and he has not had one night since where he hasnt coughed. I have taken him to the doctors more times then i can remember..
I have had this for almost a year where I have been coughing almost spasm like and I feel my throat closing up, my lungs hurt, I wake up in a sweat at night. I have been to the doctor and have done various tests done but it all seems to come out clear. I am currently on steriods "predisolone". Can someone please tell me if they have had the same symptoms and suggest what might be causing it?

Does anybody else have trouble sleeping at night ? No matter what I eat I wake up in the middle of the night with upset stomach. It keeps me up all night. I'm 14 weeks. Any suggestions?
Thank you for your answer. Doctors do not do anything for me. I have coughing at night and in the morning. I have dyspnea, and today I got diarrhea, possibly due to an antibiotic which ended on last week. I am using lactic acid bacteria all the time. Today my INR rose to 3,3 (should be 3-3), I don't know why. It is not yet caused byt the diarrhea. I have sweeting now but no fever.
I am waiting for electric cardioversion. I don't know when it can be done, there is a queue.
