711344 tn?1230760038 If you get no help I would try another web site for migraines I received a lot of help from a different site which enabled me to understand more about my difficulties and get properly diagnosed and treated. Try migrainepage, hope this helps, mine is severe concussion related, take care.
Avatar n tn I have a teenager who got a concussion while snowboarding, He lost significant memory at the time. The Catscan was normal. This morning I also noticed his hands shaking slightly. The doctor told me he would have symptoms for a week or two, are the shakey hands a sign of something more severe, we have a follow up appointment on Monday.
Avatar f tn I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
Avatar f tn While I don't have the answers to all of your son's symptoms, I feel you need to aggressively find out what is causing his situation. You mention that he "has been going to his Dr. for months now without any real answers", so I would be inclined to try someone else. His concussion most concerns me and I wonder if his has had any head scans and other tests to see the extent of his head trauma.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have had close to the whole chart in symptoms of a concussion 7 months post impact. I was recovering at a fairly normal pace until about 3/4 weeks into recovery when pain worse than when I had the initial headache from trauma. Keep in mind at that point I was a healthy 15 year old boy that was extremely active. Well anyway the pain that had returned from nowhere was increasing gradually for about one and a half months until the pain was so intense I had to go to the ER at 1am.
Avatar f tn Last Aug (09) I had a concussion/neck injury which left me with post concussion symptoms that subsided in Nov. The neck injury has been an ongoing problem with pain. With it has been the rocking sensation that is in sync with my heart beat. Had MRIs of head and neck (shows DDD bulging discs in neck, pinched nerve), Audiology exams (clear), Neurologist exam and Steroid Injs in neck.
Avatar n tn There is no scientific data proving Chiari can or can't be caused by head trauma. Most dr's will tell you it's congenital. A concussion could worsen your symptoms - although I'm not sure if it could worsen the herniation size.. But that can happen anytime. It could be coincidental that all this is happening following a concussion. Your best bet is to see a Chiari specialist. I've seen- well read- alot of people suffer from "migraines" and then BAM!
Avatar m tn (it was hanging our neck and bringing counting on up and down to the edge of sthg like a big table ) But it was few days before, probably 2-3 days prior to the symptoms. The symptoms had disappeared after few days and came again after 25 days and is persistant. To my greater surprise, performing the same exercise once again, made me feel better. I will go through the research you had kindly mentioned. Thank you so much once again and god bless you.
Avatar m tn My son is healing from post concussion syndrome from multiple concussions. It's been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago. Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. There are chances of getting a stroke. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards !
1365033 tn?1277905940 I am formally diagnosed with praosmia, althought I have totally different symptoms. There is a group on Yahoo about this that can be very helpful.
Avatar m tn Can a person who is concussed and reports no LOC actually be experiencing a LOC at that time? I was concussed and was diagnosed with a Moderate Concussion in the ER and have no recollection of anything during that time. Is all this possible?
Avatar f tn re supposed to take it easy after a concussion and orgasm raises your BP and all. Most of my symptoms of the concussion have gone away, aside from double vision. Thoughts?
1602878 tn?1304336016 I am also implanted with a spinal cord stimulator . Now the Doctor says I have a concussion . My neurological symptoms are getting much worse. Ringing ears, sensitive to light, nauseous , thinking causes worse headaches, hot and cold sweats, fingers go numb. My question is how long will I need to stay down and quiet? They say to have total rest both mentally and physically. I shouldn't be writing now but need some input. The answer I am getting is until the symptoms go away and stay away!
Avatar m tn A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
Avatar n tn In 2005 I got a concussion and shortly after I broke my nose. Ever since than I am always gettin sick. Some doctors thinks its my allergies but its all the time. 1614777 tn?1298483489 I did have a bad concussion in 1982 due to a bad car wreck. I jsy want to feel better and not live my life like this.
Avatar f tn I walked to the library without stopping and back (with a bathroom break and grabbed a couple of books inbetween) with the walker. I wasn't able to do it without stopping a lot 2 weeks ago. Yahoo. Oh and I started PT exercises on Thursday. It went well. I'm still working on getting off the walker.
5154541 tn?1366808691 So I usually ask yahoo answers for help...which this time I was not thankful for. I needed help with this one question that I CAN'T find in my textbook. I got to responses saying I was lying, that I won't succeed in life, that I'm pathetic for asking a homework question like this. I feel terrible and now can't even study because of what they said...can someone just...idk cheer me up? I try so hard in college and now I'm so stressed with finals I can't take it anymore.
Avatar n tn Lots of research will often get you the answers you need when your doctor fails to validate your symptoms. Also, WHIPLASH is what happens to your neck during an accident, it is NOT what is wrong with your neck and back, contrary to what Insurance companies want us to think. The term "Whiplash" has taken on a negative persona, as a malingering way to get money in a settlement.
Avatar f tn My Daughter is 17 and got a concussion almost a year ago. She starting passing out 5 days later. She passes about 5 days a week with no warning or symptoms beforehand. She also has lots of nausea, dizzyness, fatigue, headaches, loss of appetite, and sometimes shaky hands. We have had multiple MRI's, MRA, CT scans, full cardio work ups several times including tilt table tests, heart monitor, stress test, ultra sounds of kidneys, bladder and ovaries, blood work. All coming back normal.

Avatar f tn Loss of consciousness isn’t required for a diagnosis of concussion or post concussion syndrome. Post concussion syndrome occurs within first 7 to 10 days and until 3 months. Symptoms are variable including dizziness, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, loss of concentration and memory, light and noise sensitivity, headache varying from a tension type to cluster headaches. You need to consult a neurologist immediately.
Avatar f tn s experiences with concussions with got me worried sick because at the time I was trying to use those to declare it I had a concussion or not. I also read concussion related articles from sites like CognitiveFx, but the information from there just fear mongering me because it would say stuff like "even minor concussions can cause long term memory loss", which really scared me.
