Common Questions and Answers about Concussion symptoms minor

concussion

Avatar f tn I am a little bit concerned that you may have had a minor stroke last year and may have impending symptoms of another one. When you are nineteen these events are unlikely, but I am painting a "worse-case" scenario. There is nothing really critical about this, but sometime in the next few days would do fine. Of course a consult with a neurologist is in order.
16465326 tn?1448202692 It was two and a half weeks ago that I slipped on the ice and fell directly on the top of my head. I never lost consciousness. I just saw stars and had that panicked feeling. Went back into my house and since I wasn't feeling myself, I went to the Emergency ward. The attending Physician said I checked out neurologically and did not order a CT scan of my brain. A concussion was her diagnosis. Since the fall I have had the following symptoms: 1.
Avatar f tn Everyone thought she was fine, and she kept practicing after her fall, but later she was diagnosed with a minor concussion. She felt fine afterwards, no headaches or anything. So I thought the same thing might have happened to me?
Avatar f tn HELLO. I SUFFERED A MINOR TBI/CONCUSSION MYSELF. THE HEADACHES HE IS EXPERIENCING ARE PAINFULL, TRUST ME. MY INJURY HAPPENED ON 3-2-2006 AND I HAVE HAD SOME LEVEL OF PAIN, MODERATE TO SEVERE, EVERY DAY SINCE. I AM CURRENTLY ON OXYCODONE 30 MG AND A ARRAY OF OTHER MEDS TO EITHER HELP PREVENT OR KILL THE PAIN OF THESE HEADACHES. THE ER DOCTOR I HAD ON THE DAY OF THE INJURY TOLD ME I WOULD BE FINE IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. MY INJURY HAPPENED AT WORK AND IN PART, I AM FORTUNATE FOR THAT.
Avatar f tn Do you think he had a concussion/minor traumatic brain damage? Can this kind of impact be enough to cause concussion? Thanks for reading!
Avatar f tn a few years back the same thing happened to me but i felt fine right after only a slight headache this was wen i was 12 im now 16 and have been okay although ive had migraines for awhile to and the heavy head but apart from that im fine however if it really does bother you see your doctors they can give u something to feel better.
Avatar n tn I suffered a minor head injury 2 days back. Hit my head against a cabinet( wooden) when I got up suddenly from underneath it. Hit the back part of my head pretty hard(or so it felt). It was a distance of 1-2 feet. I am 33 y/o healthy male. No LOC, no confusion, no amnesia of the event or immediately before. I had no symptoms whatso ever for 2 hours. On day-1, I had a mild headache and some lightheadedness. On day-2, for a few hours the headache and lightheadedness (not vertigo) continued.
Avatar f tn Anyone with a severe concussion that took a long time to not get dizzy if they got a jolt or super minor head hitting.
Avatar n tn My 15 year old son recently had minor head bump on side of pool. He has had headaches every day but thinks they started before the bump. Since the bump, he has had double vision and blurry vision. Optometrist says he has bilateral optic nerve swelling and has sent him to ophthalmologist today. He has had no previous symptoms and the eye changes and on and off dizziness started after the head bump. Would a concussion be the most likely cause of the optic nerve swelling and vision changes?
Avatar f tn A few hours ago, I tripped and fell on uneven concrete. My knees and hands hit the ground, and my head whipped forward and my chin hit the concrete pretty hard. My chin didn't get cut, but there is a bump on it now. I don't think I have any other symptoms, except I have a upset stomach (probably unrelated). Right away I got up and was a bit shaken up and embarrassed.
Avatar f tn I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
Avatar n tn it is possible to instantly lose two days of memory after having a minor concussion with nothing showing up on a CT scan?
Avatar f tn This is going to be a long story.. Back on the 9th of June, a small Roku remote landed on my head, later on that day I was in the shower and I patted my head with the bottom of my wrist in the same area the remote landed to straighten my hair out. I did experience nausea and a few headaches and even some memory loss here and there, but I'm not totally sure if that had anything to do with the remote landing on my head or my patting my head.
602261 tn?1252583158 I suffered a pretty serious concussion yesterday aside from that tonight is shot night and I only have five shots left. I do have a call into the Dr's office right now but I'm looking for some hint of what to do in the mean time. I know that sometimes when you have a cocussion you are not supposed to take medicine but last night I did take my trazadone to sleep and my riba before bed.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response Londres70, I appreciate it. I haven't seeked medical attention yet, because I've had some stuff going on the past few days and I don't think I can afford an ER bill right now... I'm still feeling off.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago. Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. There are chances of getting a stroke. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards !
Avatar f tn 2 years ago, I had a coup-concoup concussion (I think that was how to spell it). Ever since then, I've had a never ending headache. It's even in my dreams. I also get migraines where my brain smacked the other side of my skull. Then last Christmas, I hit my head on my temple and got a minor concussion then. But there didn't seem to be any lasting remarks from that. Anyways, yesterday I plopped down on my bed and hit the back of my head on my windowsill.
Avatar m tn Not sure whether its related but a month and a half before I smoked I suffered a minor concussion, and I was cleared from the concussion after 3 weeks. After 9 months I have not noticed any improvement. I am 18, healthy, with no other conditions. I plan on seeing a neurologist soon, but I would greatly appreciate any opinions from you guys in informing me of what is going on, whether my problem is curable, whether there is a light at the end of this depressing tunnel... Thank you.
Avatar m tn I have suffered from 2 concussions. My first one happened tubing behind a boat in summer 2011. Fell off the tube and immediately felt dizzy, almost as if it took me a few seconds to regain myself. I had never felt that feeling before, but assumed the jolt my head took when it hit the water that I had suffered a concussion. I didn't begin to feel that "pressure headache" until a couple of hours later that afternoon.
Avatar f tn re supposed to take it easy after a concussion and orgasm raises your BP and all. Most of my symptoms of the concussion have gone away, aside from double vision. Thoughts?
Avatar m tn A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
Avatar m tn I sustained a minor concussion three weeks ago, and though my logical and linguistic faculties seemed to return to normal within a couple days, I have had persistent feelings of pressure and weakness in my head, though these have markedly diminished within the past week. At present, I have recovered enough that I am able to use the computer (with the monitor at low brightness) for simple tasks like reading and writing emails.
1072295 tn?1255449536 I had a mild traumatic brain injury and has most of the symptoms you have plus more. Mine happened more than a year ago. I have been to many specialists in this area and did not get much help. Some said it is a post concussion syndrome, meniere's syndrome etc., and each one gave a different syndrome. all I can say is I have post concussion syndrome/tbi for sure and probably you have that too.
Avatar n tn t enough for her to still be having these symptoms the next day (provided she is of normal weight etc.) I think you should take her to the emergency room or at least consult a doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck and keep me posted.
Avatar n tn Hi, I think i sustained a minor concussion last night, i smacked the back of my head on the ground during a frisbee game, and immediately afterward this liquid starting coming out my nose, it was yellowish and kept coming out for about a minute. then today i had the same yellow water-like liquid come out of the same nostril. is this a cause for concern?
Avatar n tn t be a problem with Prozac, but as CJ said, it can be stimulating to some people, so be careful, but it is true with the Ativan. And to have post concussion syndrome, you have to first have a concussion. Be careful out there!
Avatar m tn It could be just a mild concussion or it could be something more serious. In any case, I would not fool around with the symptoms you are describing. Also, I would definitely lay off drinking so much, especially before bedtime. Alcohol close to bed time actually interferes with sleep. Drink a glass of wine with supper and no more.
