I just got my results a few days ago for Herpes 1 and 2. My score from the blood tests say 0.90 on Herpes 1 and I received a 1.04 in 2. I understand that one is clear to be negative but the results for two have me worried. It just says equivocal, to test again. My partner's test came back negative for both 1 and 2. Also I had taken a 300mg of Clindamycin a few days prior to my blood test. This has me worried. What does the test results mean when it comes up equivocal?
First, I am a well controlled diabetic and at the time I think my sugar was low, but afterwards I treated it and while it is unusual for me it went quite high for several hours (beginning about two hours after the contact). Would this raise my risk for oral ghonnorea or herpes (based on your answers to other posts I know these are the two remotely possible std's with cunnilungus).
I was recently diagnosed with a UTI caused by strep type B, and was given Clindamycin for ten days. Shortly after, I noticed several small, wavy skin areas, and when I stretched the head of my penis, they were tiny, flesh or white colored bumps about the size of a pen point.
My anxiety has been through the roof because about two months ago my girlfriend had blisters come up on her vagina, and she was tested for herpes, but all three tests were negative.
I wouldn't even treat for "possible infection" with either. I'd wait for test results to come back to see if you even have either of them.
clindamycin isn't going to help for either if you should be infected with either of them. you are wasting your time and money by taking it.
Ok so I had sex with this girl on Saturday. Noticed a little redness of the penis a couple days later but thought nothing of it. My parotid gland connected to my jaw become swollen and in excruciating pain when I ate or yawned. The following say my penis became noticeable more red and itched really bad when I got out of the shower. So I went to the doctor and he basically told me If it gets better it's a fungus, if it gets worse it's herpes. No help there.
He said since i had the sore throat then these sores are from that and prescribed me ten days of clindamycin and then diflucan to take away the yeast infection the. Clindamycin has always given me. Whats your opinion on this?
Oh by the way the doc said even thou my hsv1 is genital it can still travel up to my mouth? What do you think?
I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa. Dentist prescribed Clindamycin 150 mg for 10 days for infection in my tooth. Got hives, rash, swollen lips and extreme itching and blotches from head to toe. Was on vacation so stopped medication after 3 days of taking it. It is now 5 days taking benadryl and the hives and itching have not stopped. What is in the clindamycin that I may be allergic to?
They gave me clindamycin through IV and both the redness and swelling went down dramatically within 45 minutes. But my culture came back positive for herpes--no typing. I developed a low fever and also a sore throat with a white ulcer in the back of my throat. I went to my primary care and he said it looked like cellulitis and I needed antibiotics through IV immediately as it was now on my right breast as well.
I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.

m not sure if the spots on the back of my throat are attributed to mild acid reflux, stress, antibiotics (I was taking Clindamycin vaginally for BV during the week i slept with the guy), or oral gonorrhea, or ARS.
Thank you so much for your response. May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.
Hoping that Clindamycin will work...If the Clindamycin does not work...is there another medicine that could do the trick?
Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
I am curious about the answer you will receive from the doctor on this forum regarding your question concerning Clindamycin; because, I had been prescribed two rounds of it for a tooth abcess. They were approx. 3 weeks apart. The tooth had since been pulled out a long time ago; but, I developed a sudden increase in PVC's 24/7 during the treatment time with this anitbiotic and have had PVC's since.
