Can you take zantac and nexium together

Common Questions and Answers about Can you take zantac and nexium together

zantac

Avatar m tn Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
Avatar n tn I went to a GI and she prescribed me with nexium in the morning (I usually take nexium everytime my gerd acts up) and zantac in the evening before bedtime. The next day, we went to my pulmonologist for my routine checkup, since I had primary spontaneous pneumothorax last november.
Avatar n tn gov/pubmed/19911354 I hope that I reach out to people who can benefit by my post. I know how you are suffering with afib and this could be the cause for many people (although not all). I am going to have an endoscopy done soon to see if there is anything else causing problems. Best of luck to all those suffering from the dreaded afib - it is truly a nightmare.
Avatar m tn Hi...I am on Nexium and synthroid....can I take them together in the morning and hour before breakfast? I am supposed to take them both in AM. Thanks....
Avatar f tn I was put on prilosec with no difference then zantac 300 mg and now nexium. The zantac showed improvement. Then went to a gastro and he changed me to 40 mg Nexium with marked improvement. I had an ultrasound, hyda scan both normal. I then had an endoscopy that showed stomach was irritated and and a raw spot in my esophagus. It appeared to be healing. I have changed what I eat and how with little difference.
Avatar n tn Nope, Xanax. I was just saying how I'm trying to avoid heartburn, being off Nexium and all. But, nevermind, I looked it up and found out Xanax does wear away the area where the stomach meets the esophagus.
Avatar f tn Not sure about Zante but pepcid and nexium is ok.
Avatar m tn It's far more likely the result of your getting up out of a reclining position and walking to the bathroom allowing gravity and some coughing and swallowing to help you drain the fluid from your throat and esophagus away from your airway. Can't imagine any specific connection of coughing to the bladder.
Avatar f tn I've had occassional PVC's for 20 plus years. I also have Mitral Valve Prolaps. About 2 months ago I started taking Prilosec for reflux. I then began to have a huge increase in the number of PVC's. Sometimes lasting all day. I've been on an event monitor for the past 2 weeks. I didn't even think that to relate this increase in PVC's to the Prilosec until about a week ago.
Avatar f tn Can I take esomeprazole, diazepam, antihistamine( Given by doc to help sleep ). Green tea capsules, cranberry pills, multivitamins and kanna together please? And on days I don't take my diazepam can i take valerian instead with these other supplements? Please advise. Thanks.
10678677 tn?1413254266 I've had to tale rolaids and or tums due to heartburn.....I did it with my daughters pregnancy and had no issues with her......pregnant with another girl and I've had to take them to help again.....
Avatar f tn I have had heartburn forever and I tried the prescription meds, but I feel the Zantac works the best. But 75 is not enough, make sure you take 150 mg. twice a day. Also, you can supplement it with Mylanta or Maalox liquid if it's really bad. I'm not saying this will be a miracle cure, but it's worth a try. Unless you tried Zantac already, I don't know. Let me know.
Avatar f tn m so used to avoiding heartburn trigger foods that acid reflux is seldom an issue for me anymore. You can also get the same type of tablets (basically the same formulation and low price) at several other stores, such as Shopko and K-Mart. At least I've been able to do so. Hope this helps you. By the way, it's apparently not just the PPIs like Prevacid that can cause heart issues (palpitations or arrhythmias), but also the H2 blockers like Zantac or it's generic form ranitidine.
Avatar n tn You can take over the counter Zantac before eating. How often do you eat spicy food? Because if it bugs your stomach, I'd really suggest not eating it often. That can lead to stomach problems. If the Zantac doesn't help, try seeing a doctor. I take Nexium and Zantac (Ranitdine) and that doesn't always help, but I don't have the greatest stomach.
Avatar m tn I have tried a lot of medications (Pepicd, Zantac, Prilosec, Aciphex and now Nexium). None have really helped that much. I have been on Nexium for about 3 weeks and over the first week I started feeling better, but I guess I leveled off because I am at a point that is a little better than 3 weeks ago but still not very good. I have had pretty much every test, blood work, Upper GI, ultrasound and an endoscopy and they have found nothing. I have never been a big spicy or fatty food eater.
Avatar f tn I take Nexium 40mg which is class b. I took it with my first 9 years ago and taking it now and im 37 weeks. Zantac, and tums didnt work for me either. ask your dr.
Avatar m tn Hi there, The binge drinking and eating could have triggered a bad reflux and you may have to take your Nexium/Zantac or even Gaviscon plus for a while again as you may have Esophagitis. I had the Nissen fundo in 2012 and have always been bothered by constipation to. I take "Norvacol" granules for this and it really helps for the bloatedness/constipation and often stomach pains that is typical of IBS. Maybe try this and see how you go?
1580703 tn?1651904887 ve started to take gaviscon and zantac too, GI recommended zantac before bed and ENT said 80mg of nexium/day, but in divided dose I also have a 3+ or level 4 dust mite allergy, could that cause my sleep breathing problems which have crippled my life??
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Gerd in 2013 since then i have taken omperazole, nexium, zantac basically anything i could afford since the insurance stopped covering it. Ive had issues here an there with dysphia but lately it has gotten worse. I always cut my food in tiny bites i take my time in fact my kids pick on me cause i take so long to eat. But in the past 2 days i have had the issue 3 times. My new dr only wants me to try omperazole for another 3 months then she's sending me back to the gi dr.
2101847 tn?1333564794 My Dr prescribed me Nexium the purple pill and it helps 100% i never get acids and i am able to eat whatever.
Avatar f tn You can take really anything over the counter for heartburn. My midwife even told me that after a while some quit working so switch to something else.
Avatar n tn That stuff scares me because of the rep it has for harming bones. It blocks magnesium absorption or something? I used to take Zantac but I was doing great for nearly a year now, even without taking it, so I didn't bother. But I think I was drinking too much coffee lately and set it off. Do other people here get head pressure and ear pressure with GERD/chest gas? What are the risks with Nexium? Are there other options to try?
Avatar f tn That's exactly what I do. You can safely take 40 mg of Nexium & I take Gaviscon for temporary relief & drink milk at night. The worst is when the hb actually does make me sick b/c it's like throwing up fire!
Avatar f tn s not covered by insurance, but only costs about $100. You order the tests online, they e-mail you a lab order and tell you which local lab to go to (usually LabCorp), you get the blood drawn, then in a couple days, the web site from which you ordered will notify you that your results are ready. Your doctor has nothing to do with that part of it, but some doctors will take notice if you take them the results. If you'd be interested in this, I can send you the information.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me over the counter Zantac 75 (not the stronger version) and you can take it up to twice a day based on the severity of your heartburn
Avatar f tn I suppose Nexium 40mg and Zantac 150mg each day that I was taking are considered either PPI and/or H2RA? Those are what I was instructed to stop 5-7 days prior to the test. Thank you!
