About 3 days ago I got a real bad sore throat and its getting better, but for the last two days I wake up and I cough once and my mucus is thick with blood in it. As time has passed every time I blow my nose blood would come out in the mucus. Not a little, not in tiny streaks but alot. The mucus is clear, but with the blood is tinged pink or red. I sometimes have headaches but nothing unusual. Also recently I've been "spitting up" mucus with blood too. Lately I've been feeling really achy and super tired. And my chest hurts, it feels tight. And I've developed a little bit of a cough.
I have had a cold for about a week and for about 5 days I have lost all sense of taste and smell and in the last 3 days I have had quite a bit of blood in my mucus. When I blow my nose in the morning mucus comes out as light yellow, white and blood all mixed. Then as the day progresses the mucus turns more white and blood. Sometimes it is a little bit of blood and sometimes it is a good amount. My throat has also been hurting for over 2 weeks.

A week after my sore throat started, a common cold finally hit me.. Three days into my cold, I started feeling really exhausted, and its hard for me to describe, or put my finger on exactly what im feeling.. but it was a mix between fatigue, light headedness, dazed, lack of concentration, slight loss of balance..
It was about 5 minutes long and he diagnosed me with nothing more than a cold. I could not believe this! I've had the cold many times in the past, and while it has always affected me a little more than average due to my asthma it has never been anything like this. Now, I'm not usually one to question a doctor or physicians assistant, but every time in the past I've gone in for a sickness such as this I've had tests done, such as blood tests or a chest x-ray.
This past weekend when I spit out my mucus there's dime sized blood in it. Mucus is light brown caramel color. This morning I blew my nose and found blood in that as well.
I have the same symptoms. I have thick yellow mucus with blood in it... I looked at my throat with a flashlight and there is some small lesions... I don't cough, I have no fever, but I have the chills... I sweat a lot too - hot/cold feeling.. I'm very tired.. What is going on?
I had the mucus and blood thing with my Ulcerative Colitis. Before I got a diagnosis, my PCP thought it was internal hemorrhoids since I just had had my son. I had to submit to two separate manual exams to verify this... not fun. They prescribed hydrocortisone suppositories and they really seemed to help me. I also took on my own psyllium husks every morning mixed with Orange juice. That really helped me as well. I was having the really messy, hard to clean up poops as well.
The Cipro felt like it was tearing up my insides and I continued to pass even more blood along with suffering with the cramping each time. I can't seem to eat anything with onion, garlic, or bell pepper. It gives me severe cramping and all I pass is blood all day/night long. I put myself on a bland diet and for the last 2 days I seem to be doing better. I'm still passing blood & mucus along with cramping, just not as much but I constantly feel like I have to have a movement.
I recently went for a drive with a friend and the problem was his car brings back smoke inside. the next morning i work up with think mucus in my mouth with a lot of blood. i feel feel like i have malaria and i also feel cold at times. I took some colds and flu medication but i still feel see the blood. Am i in danger? Generally i have a lot of allergies to tobacco and any pollutants.
I was on 30 GEN-Amoxicillin (500mg)for 10 days and where the blood ceased. Once I finished the medication the blood in the mucus returned. My mouth every morning is dry and when I clear my throat the mucus comes up followed by blood. Now is January caught a cold, same pattern mucus & blood the only thing different today rather this evening is I brought up mucus followed by blood, the reason I say different is because the blood would only occur in the morning.
This can cause you to cough up a white sticky substance called phlegm or mucus. A nasal wash helps remove mucus from the nose and sinuses. This can temporarily reduce the postnasal drip and lessen irritation. A prescription nasal steroid spray decreases nasal swelling and mucus production. This may prevent the postnasal drip and irritation. To get the most out of a nasal steroid spray use it after doing a nasal wash. A nasal steroid spray does not provide immediate relief of symptoms.
I have read several messages from people with similar symptoms such as mine - cough mainly in AM with mucus, again in the evening. I plan to try some of the suggestions such as taking an antihistamine/decongestant and a remedy for GERD (although I do not have symptoms of that particular problem). I have been hacking for about 3 months, have been to the doctor who has given me antibiotics along with cough medicines. Seems to help a bit but then I'm hacking again.
I spend the first half hour of the day spitting clear mucus and blowing my nose and then several times during the day. I could not find what it triggers it: cold air, eating, drinking, exercising... Nothing appears to cure or ease it. I take a small dose of blood pressure medication (verapamil), but even if I quit taking it for several days (I should not!) nothing changes. I had chest X rays, Cat scans and pulmunary functions tests. All it's OK.
At times it is very frustrating as people think I am sick with a cold. I do find when I limit my intake of dairy products, cold drinks, and chocolate, I do not have as much accumulation of mucus. Also, I am trying to drink more water. However, I still am stuck with symptoms and try my best to have relaxing moments which seem to help.
well now im gonna move towards a bacterial infection of some sort, salmonella, C-diff(clostridium difficile), or E.Coli... however there are other causes of this...what color of the mucus? it could be IBS or some sort of IBD(crohns ulceratice colitis)... another possibility is diverticulitis(an infection of the diverticula of the intestines) if i would you i would see a doctor to ensure nothing serious is going on.... how often does the mucus appear...on every BM? any blood in stool?
Since then, I have been noticing a lot of white/clear mucus in my stool. When I wipe, the only thing I can see in the toilet paper is white mucus. I don’t feel particularly ill or anything, but this has been happening everyday for more than a week or two. What could this be a sign of? Note: Four members of my family (we are six) have had gastritis and ulcers. Could this be a probability?

She meant have pnemonia which can be very bad for asthmatics and not something to fool around with (especially if she is just getting over the flu or cold). Let us know how she is feeling.
Back in June, I had a cold or a virus or something, and one of the symptoms was an anal leakage - an oily orange sort of mucus, and the only thing I've found online that sounds similar is steatorrhea. Sometimes it happened while I was using the bathroom, and sometimes it happened at other times, so for two or three days I started wearing a small menstrual pad for it since I couldn't feel anything when it happened.
I do nasal rinses and have try to eliminate as many allergens as possible. I have no fragrance in my house, clean often etc........ I live in Minnesota and we have yet to get to the "spring time" allergies. Luckily I'm not allergic to mold so the wet ground after the snow melting doesn't bother me. I've continued to be stuffed up and have sinus pressure. I also have big clots of blood that come out of my nose when I blow it. I'm used to a little blood, but this is a lot.

I don't know if its coming from my nose or my throat but this has never happened before and I am every concerned. I do not know if this is serious or just some kind of infection. Please help.
