Got told I have Tonsilitis by my doctor 2 days ago, I've got white spots on the back of my throat, Fever, Sweating, sore throat/ears.
She prescribed me some antibiotics, which seem to have worked maybe a little since then, not too much improvement though. I wouldn't be too worried about this, although i feel mucus in the back of my throat a lot, I spit it out every now and then and 90% of the time it will have blood in it.
About 3 days ago I got a real bad sore throat and its getting better, but for the last two days I wake up and I cough once and my mucus is thick with blood in it. It only happens in the morning and then i am fine the rest of the day. I am a smoker and about 3 years ago I had an infected lung.... which was easily fixed with antibiotics.... what can be causing this? I have no other signs of a cold and i am getting regular headache but i have had that my whole life ...
The reason I was being persistent at coughing up mucus was because I felt like there was a bit of mucus in the back of my throat that was being stubborn. I could feel it hanging there and it was on the left side. I tried coughing up mucus as hard as I could even to the point where my gag reflex was making me nearly throw up. Then suddenly the mysterious red glob came flying out projectile style and I caught it on my hand.
But this morning when i spitted the mucus out, i noticed it contains blood. Yesterday, my throat felt sore, but this morning it has relieved. I have been going to my doctor about my problem of spitting mucus every 20 minutes especially after eating but after taking injection and the drugs he gives me, the problem never ease. I have lot hope about the curing my spitting mucus a lot. Do you know what my problem may be? Thanks.
I had no white spots no yellow spots in my throat. Just extremely red and swollen in my throat. I had the sore throat and general malaise for a couple days. I thought I was getting better, but then nasal congestion came, stuffy nose, runny nose. Then came a really bad cough that would wake me up in the night. It would be a tickle that would trigger it. I had green thick sticky mucus. Then about a couple of days ago, I had that tickle cough, but like a coughing attack episode.
Off and on I notice streaks of blood in the mucus in my throat. I have allergies and always have post nasal drip. The mucus is clear, not discolored so I don't think it's an infection. I don't smoke or drink. Can allergies cause blood in your mucus? I don't have the money to go to an ENT and my reg doctor told me he doesn't know. Oh, also, when I notice the blood, I haven't had a bloody nose or picked my nose or anything.
s just flecks of blood it could be that your sinuses are irritated and/or very dry, Blowing your nose too hard can rupture the tiny blood vessels in your nose, drips down your throat and it gets coughed up with the stagnant mucus in the morning. Try a humidifier in your bedroom if your climate is dry, or use Ocean Spray during the day, wait a few minutes then blow your nose gently.
If you're coughing up more than a half cup of blood see your doctor asap.
also, i have been very stressed out lately and i always eat late before i go to bed. Recently a lot of mucus has been running in the back of my throat,especially when i am taking that natural remedy called bragg organic apple cider vinegar.In April i went to see a Doctor she said i had throat infection but that was a brief diagnose. i took antibotics,nothing seems to work. Do you guys have any idea???? please!!

my lymph nodes swell up from time to time because i clear my throat so much , basically this makes my throat sore, but it goes back down once the soreness in my throat clears. i only clear my throat to check the blood and if i drink enough fluids i dont see any. i dont have a fever, cold, flu, muscle pain, or any of that. i did have a shortness of breath but that's been gone since i stopped smoking. also the hoarseness in my voice has disappeared since i stopped smoking too.
Post-nasal drip (PND) occurs when excessive mucus is produced by the sinuses. The excess mucus accumulates in the throat or back of the nose. It can be caused by rhinitis, sinusitis, or laryngopharyngeal acid reflux. It can be enhanced or sometimes even caused by allergies.
Pls check out with an ENT specialist if you are having chronic rhinitis or sinusitis. If you have chronic sinusitis then it can lead to continuous production of mucus and less drainage leading to post nasal drip.
t bother me in any way and i have no obvious symptoms of any disease but a problem i always had was in the morning, i always get a bit of sore throat that disappears after i drink some water and spit out the mucus buildup in my throat and i think this is post nasal dripping. Even during the day, i sometimes feel a buildup of mucus and a need to spit it out. I was wondering if post nasal dripping can cause the bumps in the back of throat or is it something else such as oral HPV.
Just need help! I don't know if I'm crazy or possibly expecting. Earlier this week I started having a terrible stuffed up nose.. Worse than I've had in quite a while. Next came a sore throat. No fever all week but constant nose and throat pain. I think a week ago I wiped a couple times and there was a mucus blood type thing but that has been it. I normally start the 2nd-7th of the month.

After experiencing chest pains, a somewhat accelerated heartbeat, a sore throat, and mucus, I visited my doctor and she gave me all the heart tests (EKG, d-dimer) and both were negative (so no heart problems here). She didn't really know what was wrong, but I later discovered that it could be a acid reflux problem. She recommended I take Zantac (75 mg).
I have the same exact problem with a lump in my throat and excessive mucus in my throat for 6 months also. I have been to doctor after doctor and had every test done. Today I went to a 3rd ENT, and he put a camera in my nose down into my throat and actually saw the abundance of mucus along with swelling. All the other doctors told me it was GERD and it was just a sensation. I knew I wasn't nuts.
There is always a lot of mucus in the back of my throat and I almost feel the need to get rid of it with my tongue. Is it normal to always have loads of mucus back there? Or is it possibly caused by sinus problems or allergies or some other post nasal drip? And is it possible that mucus is the cause of my sore throat?
I'm finding it very difficult to break this habit, but I guess that if i knew that it would stop my throat from feeling sore I would have a real reason to stop.
Mine has lasted for over 2 months now, I clear my throat all the time, my throat is sore from so much clearing. I have a Doctors Appt. next week. Mine also does not wake me up at night, I love to go to sleep, because that is the only time it doesnt bother me. I see you posted in April, any improvement for you yet? Any adivce?
