Avatar n tn 1) reach a level where the rate of alcohol elimination (and its effect on the respiratory system) far outpaces the time required (so to speak) for brain damage to occur at any particular BAC level (also realize that at high BAC levels, elimination is non-linear due to the action of enzymes not usually involved in the process with elimination rates around -.
Avatar m tn all seemed to show that everything was fine with the exception of elevated heart rate and somewhat low blood pressure. Blood tests showed slightly high creatnine levels in kidneys and a bit of a vitamin D deficiency (I'm taking vitamin D supplements, but that hasn't helped with symptoms). Neurologist: MRI of brain and cervical spine showed the osteophytes I mentioned above and also a very small pineal gland cyst (neuro said there's no way that would be causing these symptoms).
Avatar n tn That is straight from the La Leche League website. I highly doubt a reputable organization would put that on their website if it wasn't true.
967168 tn?1477584489 still no info on why this recommendation on my cardiac cath and no alcohol; however I did find this - Limit alcohol intake.
Avatar f tn When I drink I get a runny nose does this mean I have a alcohol intolerance and also is it bad if I continue drinking?
Avatar m tn Hi, sorry to hear about your heart symptoms. What you are describing is very vague so there could definitely be a variety of different things that could be causing what you are describing, anxiety being one of them. Obviously I'd recommend to get checked out by a cardiologist first and foremost if you're concerned to eliminate some things. But, what you are describing sounds exactly like something I started experiencing a few years ago.
967168 tn?1477584489 This is a totally uneducate guess. I believe normal EF is around 60%. You reports states your EF at 40% so that's low. Alcohol dialates the blood vessels, I think. Perhaps they're concerned that your BP would drop to a point we you might pass out?
Avatar n tn No mystery here. Alcohol has that effect on many. My daughter got married yesterday and I celebrated quite a lot. I woke up at 3 AM very tachy. I took my beta blocker early and drank a few glasses of water. It was much better this morning. Today I did notice more PVCs than I've been having, but I also forgot to take my fish oil today. We'll see if it was acting up because of the alcohol or if they've returned.
Avatar m tn One beer or a glass of wine will cause my heart rate to increase considerably. Alcohol acts as a vasodilator, causing blood vessels to dilate and blood flow to increase.

Avatar f tn Both can help guide through the elimination diet. I had to be on the elimination diet for six weeks versus the typical two weeks before starting the challenge phase of the diet because of how sick I was in the beginning. One other thing, get your blood work done to test your nutrition panel: CBC with differentials, CMP and TSH. Make sure they test your vitamin D. Your vitamin D levels actually do play a significant role in how severe your GERD is.
Avatar m tn She drinks occasionally, but all the hospital did was check for alcoholism as in do an ECG of her heart rate which was really fast during the incident, some blood tests, and urine tests, which all came out normal. She was diagnosed with alcoholism and the doctor did not run any other tests like a CT scan or anything for the abdomen. So my questions are, was the "jumpiness" a minor form of seizure or could she just have been moving around because of the pain?
Avatar m tn What you need to keep in mind, though (especially we young people overreacting on adrenaline) is that both alcohol and beta blockers reduce blood pressure (hence our heart rate seems to increase with drinking to compensate) and we can get dizzy due to low blood pressure (in addition to the alcohol;). I took my 15 mgs of Pranolol today and I'm going out for a beer today. It's never been a problem before. Ask your doctor though, just to be completely sure.
Avatar m tn Usually it is good to let them do their thing and then when they are finished ask questions. They may start with a MRI. Depending on that they may do blood work to rule out other illnesses, do VEP, SSEP, BAER, and possibly a Lumbar Puncture. Usually they follow you over time with me it was every six months. Neurologist like to see changes over time. There are no tests which rule MS in or out. It is mostly ruling out all other possibilities. Neurologists Specialize and few specialize in MS.
2044839 tn?1331255841 A heart rate over 100 per minute is considered abnormal, however many people seem to have high heart rates for their entire lives without harmful effects. Generally the higher heart rate is compensatory, and is the result of feedback that suggests the blood is not getting a sufficient supply of oxygen. The feedback comes primarily from two biosensors located in the left and right carotid arteries. Artheroschelotic deposits and resistance in the vascular system can be a contributing factor.
159619 tn?1707018272 Thus if you begin taking a medication with a half-life of 24 hours, on the fifth day the rate of intake of the drug will approximately equal the rate of elimination. If the half-life is 12 hours, you'll reach that state at the beginning of the third day.
Avatar n tn i m still having drowsness increasing with walking not by position, when i observe my heart rate i found there is fluctiuation between 55 and 85 within few second .
Avatar m tn My questions is does anyone know how to speed up the elimination of ETG? Does sauna/sweating/drinking lots of water etc help the process? A friend of mine had 3 12 ounce beers on Sunday night, and takes an ETG test next Thursday. That puts him well beyond the 5 days but I read on a website that certain people are hyper producers of ETG and can produced 200 times what some people produce.
Avatar n tn m wondering, could it be the Chiari or perhaps the elimination diet? Is this a reaction from an overall alcohol intolerance? I used to be able to drink heavily without a problem but now I'm in bed all day with nausea, a headache and feeling spaced out.
