I have been reading quite a bit about testing windows and accuracy of test results. I had an encounter with a sex worker in Asia. It was protected but with a strange twist. Protected intercourse then condom removed for handjob. Then intercourse again. Only after event did I realise that the same condom was used! Dont know how she got it back on or if it was put on inside out exposing fluids on the condom or if it was broken to let air escape when refitted. From memory it looked intact.
ve read that pumping and dumping is of no use because the alcohol will leave your milk when it leaves your blood stream... LA Leche league still recomends it the last time I checked, not sure which is correct. I also read that the amount that does get into your milk is so tiny that the baby getting drunk or feeling it at all isn't the concern, it's the babies liver that is the concern.
Hi Doctor, I received a oral sex from massage parlor on 25 Feb 2014 and I has did my HIV/STD testing on 17 March, both HIV & STD result came out was good with no reaction & negative. I am kind of worry about the accuracy of this early test. I hope you could advise if this test result is conclusive?
If your test was 3 months after and it was negative no need for more testing
My concern is I thought I was done with all the worrying when I got back on the Internet and read all this stuff about people testing positive after the window period when they used a different test assuming blood. Is oraquick really missing that many infections. I see here about 4-5 people a day have the same concern. I just haven't felt right since this sex act. Just wondering if anybody has had much experience with the oral testing method and knowledgeable of its accuracy.
I went for my second appointment today and everything was perfect, doc wrote my orders for blood work and asked if I wanted the panorama done. I said yes and I started doing research and now I am wondering about accuracy on the result.... anybody been through this? Were your results accurate?
ALT could be elevated for various reasons, such as using alcohol, various injuries, sstrength training, taking tylenol, and others.
ALT is primarily an enzyme in the liver, when there is liver cell damage, it leaks into your blood.
Since you have pain in your liver area, past sexual risk, and elevated ALT, perhaps it would be wise to test again. Why guess. Ask your doctor to get to the bottom of it.

hi- when the tester did my rapid finger prick test, he pricked my finger and rubbed the first squeeze of blood with the alcohol swab then resqueezed my finger to collect the blood sample. my question is, would the wipe of alcohol in any way contaminate the second blood sample they collected for the test?
My concern is because I have not seen the guy using autoclave machine for tattoo machine (gun) itself and tattoo tube (grip).He was using alcohol after he shaved my leg before tattooing and I think that he put some alcohol on machine and tube before he started. He was using brand new bandages to put on my leg latter. I was talking to him before we started and he said that he wash his equipment in water and soap before using every time but he never mentioned autoclave machine.
Just wanted to know about accuracy about hiv rapid testing kit and whether they are FDA approved. Also I was looking for one to buy, but all I found was the one that you take the blood sample and send to the lab and get your results with 3 days. But I am looking for the one that you take the blood sample and get your results with 15 minutes. If anybody knows the link to purchase that particular kit I would really appericate.

Can anyone tell me how long blood is good for in a vial used for testing. My blood was taken 5pm on a monday and wasn't tested until 5pm on wednesday. I am sure they screwed up because I have gotten gingivits and a transient completely flat non ithcy rash on my body and a host of other skin conditions. I also have a sinus infection that hasn't cleared up ;on its own since the exposure and it has been 4 months. My risk was brief unprotected with csw.
After 3 months post exposure the Oraquick home test is as reliable as a lab based blood test if done according to the instructions.
The test has been around since 2004 I believe and recently was approved by the FDA for release to the general public in the continental U.S.
I am aware that Remicade could (perhaps--I may be wrong) increase my likelihood of infection, but my main concern is accuracy of testing. I plan to be tested for HIV 1 and 2 using the Oraquick Rapid Result test, which from my understanding is an effective test. From my understanding, the test works by detecting HIV antibodies which indicate presence of HIV infection.
Because Remicade is an immunosuppressant, could this interfere with the test results?
