Blood alcohol burn off rate

Common Questions and Answers about Blood alcohol burn off rate

alcohol

Avatar n tn Hard to say for sure. You generally burn off an ounce of alcohol per hour. Take the ounces of wine, about 8% alcohol or so... get the number of ounces of alcohol and multiply to get the hours to metabolize it... but then you will have some breakdown products for a few hours as well that will look suspicious. The best bet is to go back in time and don't drink the wine.
Avatar n tn Alcohol can affect blood pressure - it can also upset the digestive process and cause heart burn - which can make it feel like the heart is racing. If it's only after he has a few too many - tell him to drink less; masking the symptoms with medications won't help in the long run.
Avatar n tn I washed the area with soap and water and alcohol (not fun). To top things off, the following morning I had a friction (like a rug) burn on my testicals for her stubble. Avatar n tn Hi, I had an ablation many years ago but I have been getting arrhythmia weekly/monthly on and off, more frequently now. I am 64, had high blood pressure but nicely resolved with low-dosage Norvasc. I take Flecainide which resolves it in a couple of hours. I have these observations and wonder if they suggest the cause and/or preventative measures. a) The arrythmia always starts when I am asleep, often after a dream or nightmare. b) They are always correlated with frequent urination.

Avatar m tn It seems that one cup of coffee or one beer can now make my heart rate hit scary levels. My blood work is all normal. Though my blood pressure is a bit high at 135/75ish. I've never had issues with rapid heart rate before. I'm 32 and a former competitive athlete. ( Bodybuilder ) I should mention that in early September I had my fiance take me to hospital, as my heart rate was so high I thought I was having a heart attack.
Avatar f tn You should keep the area clean and dry. Do not apply any alcohol or any more cream to the burn. It will heal better left dry and uncovered. Do not pull off any scabs, they will drop off when the skin underneath has healed. If you are concerned that it may be infected, then see your doctor. The best way to treat a small burn is by apply lots of cold water to the skin when it first happens.

Avatar n tn I cleaned the wound with alcohol immdieately after wiping the blood off with soaked tissue and then rinsing my hands with alcohol. This was in part to check for and stinging (checking for any open wounds) and to clean the rest of the blood off. I then check later that night after a work out with lime juice in case the alcohol didn't work. My wound wasn't bleeding at the time and I didn't feel any noticeable stinging when I cleaned it when it happened and later that night.
Avatar f tn Create a calorie deficit through your diet. Eating fewer calories than you use makes your body use the fat storage in your belly to provide energy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a calorie deficit of 500 to 1,000 calories daily for 1 to 2 pounds in weight loss. To lose belly fat fast, aim for at least a calorie reduction of a 1,000 calories daily. Read nutritional labels to choose healthy food products.

Avatar n tn No mystery here. Alcohol has that effect on many. My daughter got married yesterday and I celebrated quite a lot. I woke up at 3 AM very tachy. I took my beta blocker early and drank a few glasses of water. It was much better this morning. Today I did notice more PVCs than I've been having, but I also forgot to take my fish oil today. We'll see if it was acting up because of the alcohol or if they've returned.

1102792 tn?1285925260 ve realised that most of my probs are caused by heavy alcohol and cigs consumption, my heart doesnt seem to be able to take the pressure of beating very fast which i believe is caused by acetlydehyde an alcohol metabolite, and narrowed arteries, due to heavy smoking, also i am very sensitive to salt, infact reducing salt in my diet has more effect on my bp than all the drugs i am taking combined, when i cut down salt in my diet my bp drpped from an average of 130/80 (wihtout alcohol consumtion)
Avatar m tn s more common than you think. Alcohol dilates your blood vessels and lowers blood pressure, and sometimes it can be too low, not allowing enough oxygen to get to the brain. I think you was probably on the border of alcohol poisoning which can kill, and you was certainly wise to drink water as dehydration is an added issue to alcohol. That would have given your body a better chance of keeping your blood pressure up. What probably added to the incident was the lack of food.
Avatar m tn She drinks occasionally, but all the hospital did was check for alcoholism as in do an ECG of her heart rate which was really fast during the incident, some blood tests, and urine tests, which all came out normal. She was diagnosed with alcoholism and the doctor did not run any other tests like a CT scan or anything for the abdomen. So my questions are, was the "jumpiness" a minor form of seizure or could she just have been moving around because of the pain?
