They say its a class B which means there arent any studies whether its safe or not. 16wks and have a sinus infection and I'm wondering has anyone taken a Z-pack for antibiotics and had any complications?

I am on birth control and while taking Z-Pack I had sex. I was wondering if there was any chances that you can get pregnant while being on birth control and taking that kind of medicine? Thanks for your help!

when I was pregnant they had to give me a z-pack because I had bronchitis. and I was like 6 months pregnant. so I hope this helps a little bit.

I was trying to tough it out but my upper respiratory infection has moved down into my chest and with my asthma, the doctor is really worried about it turning into pneumonia and just put me on the "Z-Pack" (Azithromycin)antibiotics. I'm in my 12th week right now, and really worried about taking them. But the doctor says if my breathing goes bad or I get pneumonia that's much worse for the baby...so I just took my first dose tonight.

I was just put on amoxicillin for a dental infection. Both amoxicillin and the medication in your z-pack (I'm assuming that is what you are taking?) are both Pregnancy Category B and considered safe during pregnancy. I even specifically asked my Pharmacist and she assured me it is safe. Much better to treat the infection before it gets out of hand and you have to use a stronger (and possibly less safe) medication to address it.

Why is it that taking oral antibiotics (leviquin, biaxin and now Z pack) seem to give me spells of palpitations--rapid/pounding heart beat? This is listed as a side effect, but I'd like to know if there's a chemical explanation. I am a 49 year-old female runner w/ normal resting hr of about 50-55. depends on which IUD....if it's the copper one, no effect. and even if it's the one that releases hormones the effect should be minimal because not only does the IUD use hormones to prevent pregnancy but the placement of the IUD itself can actually affect ovulation and the chances of pregnancy.. but the truth about risk of pregnancy due to taking antibiotics concurrently is iffy.

I have been on Azithromycin (Z-pack) for 2 days and have a blood test schedule for Monday, so day 3 of a Z-pack? Do you know if the antibiotics could mask or alter the test in a good/bad/neutral way?

I am 34 weeks pregnant and am very concerned about all these antibiotics (about 4) i took during my pregnancy, 3 were zithromycin z pack and one was metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis in my third trimester. I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia two weeks ago. I was given Z Pack. I took it. It seemed to work for a couple of days then the symptoms returned. Doctor gave me another Z Pack. Same thing. It worked for a couple of days and then the mychoplasma returned. Question 1: Why did Z pack not get rid of it? Question 2: I'm on Doxycycline now. Will that get rid of it? I'm terrified to even get out of bed for fear that I will relapse again. I want my life back. Please help.

I have been taking birth control for the last 5 years and recently switched to a new pill for the last two months. I had a throat infection and was given a z pack to take for five days, I took this about the second week into my pack. Well during this month of be I took two pills very late due to a busy schedule and forgot, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex during this month as well. Well a week after I took the z pack I had spotting for about a week that was moderately heavy.

I was diagnosed as positive for chlamydia but negative for gonorrhea on 7/17, did six days of doxicyclene starting 7/17, then a single dose of both azithromycin and metrodinazole around 7/23.) Around November 7th, I developed what I assumed to be a run of the mill sinus infection. I had a lot going on with an ill family member, and didn't do my usual home treatment. I began a round of the z-pack early this week for a bacterial infection (I have been sick for a month now; the dr. thinks it started as a cold and then I picked up a secondary infection), and just finished it up yesterday. It will help you fall asleep when the coughing and sore throat keep you up but I took robitussin for my cough (dr recommended me take it) and ended up having to take a z-pak antibiotics to get rid of the sore throat and still trying to get over the cough

Went to the doctor yesterday because I lost my voice and my throat was closing up. Got prescribed a z pack and am already feeling better this morning.
