Go get yourself some medicine I had bronchitis 8 weeks ago and after 3 antibiotics, 1 breathing treatment, & 2 inhalers we thought I was fine but I have been really sick for a week now and went to the ER today because I was dehydrated and thought my kids had given me the flu, turns out I have pneumonia.
I have been on Azithromycin (Z-pack) for 2 days and have a blood test schedule for Monday, so day 3 of a Z-pack?
Do you know if the antibiotics could mask or alter the test in a good/bad/neutral way?
I was sick with a cold and bronchitis and had been taking a Z-Pack. I am on birth control and while taking Z-Pack I had sex. I was wondering if there was any chances that you can get pregnant while being on birth control and taking that kind of medicine? Thanks for your help!
s uti got worse so monday morning i called the doctor and asked if they could prescribe 2grams azithromycin (until we could get an appt with specialist the both of us) the doctor agreed and prescribed 2g Z-Max extended release oral suspension.
i started the z-pac (after being sick for 3 weeks) 6 days ago. i finished it as prescribed, it was a 5 day pac. wednesday morning, the first day after completed the z-pac, i was running a fever and still coughing and runny nose, and then throwing up. i hurt all over, like a have the flu. it is day 2 after finishing, and i am still achy and coughing and runny nose. i had to call off work yesterday because of how awful i felt. what can i do? is this normal?
2 days late but read antibiotics can delay your period. Anyone taking antibiotics ever have a delayed period?
He’s dealt with chronic diarrhea for as long as I’ve known him and that’s been 16 years. The only antibiotics he was given was a Z-PAC back in early November bc our primary suspected mild pneumonia (which was odd) bc he had no symptoms.
I think our primary was nervous because of his lymphocyte number and his wbc being 17. I assume they suspected an inflammatory issue, but all the inflammation bloodwork came back fine. I can get those number when my husband is able to sign into his portal.
YES!! antibiotics will definitely give you yeast infections.. the only antibiotic i can take is azithromycin (z-pac) im allergic to all the others.. ask your doctor what would be best for you to use to help clear it up!
I am 34 weeks pregnant and am very concerned about all these antibiotics (about 4) i took during my pregnancy, 3 were zithromycin z pack and one was metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis in my third trimester. For all these antibiotics, i received strong reassurance that they are safe to take to treat my common occuring respiratory infections. I am concerned. Is there anyone here who took many antbx during pregnancy and had a healthy child? AMEN...
Why is it that taking oral antibiotics (leviquin, biaxin and now Z pack) seem to give me spells of palpitations--rapid/pounding heart beat? This is listed as a side effect, but I'd like to know if there's a chemical explanation. I am a 49 year-old female runner w/ normal resting hr of about 50-55. I have a history of PAC's and PVC's but nothing serious.
I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia two weeks ago. I was given Z Pack. I took it. It seemed to work for a couple of days then the symptoms returned. Doctor gave me another Z Pack. Same thing. It worked for a couple of days and then the mychoplasma returned.
Question 1: Why did Z pack not get rid of it?
Question 2: I'm on Doxycycline now. Will that get rid of it?
I'm terrified to even get out of bed for fear that I will relapse again. I want my life back. Please help.
Antibiotics won't screw up your labs. They do not affect the thyroid levels at all, however if you are very ill the thyroid levels may be off slightly as your immune system tries to heal itself. They won't be dramatically off though. If you are having anti-bodies done (and you should!) these may be slightly elevated if you are fighting a bad virus.
I know you say the endo appt is tomorrow but ideally it should be tested when you feel better. If you can't wait then so be it.
t understand why you each got 2 antibiotics + Z pac, since Z pac alone will knock out most infections; nor do I understand prednisone for strep throat.....pred is a steroid.. Something doesn't sound right.
I began a round of the z-pack early this week for a bacterial infection (I have been sick for a month now; the dr. thinks it started as a cold and then I picked up a secondary infection), and just finished it up yesterday. I had started to feel better on the 3rd day of taking the antibiotics, but then yesterday on the day of the last dosage and even more so today (the 1st day off) I feel terrible again, with a lot of mucous, coughing, sinus issues. Can I go to the dr.
last year, i was treated for a upper res. infection...cleared up with antibiotics (z-pac)...4/5 days after last dose of z-pac diagnosed with folliculitis.
two weeks ago, same thing happened as above
question is, why am i getting folliculitis, afterwards? Is it the antibiotic?
It should be known the first time it happened, they gave me erythromycin. I have not gone to my GP the second time around.
just a little nervous what i read about folliculitis...like std's, diabetes...etc, ...
Around November 7th, I developed what I assumed to be a run of the mill sinus infection. I had a lot going on with an ill family member, and didn't do my usual home treatment. It stuck around until around Thanksgiving. During that time, I was on a 7-day course of penicillin (root canal) and went through a bought of some stomach bug. The penicillin didn't do anything to help my sinus symptoms.
The symptoms of the sinus infection are gone, but there are a few annoyances still lingering.
I took her to the clinic to get tested and they ruled out BV even thought her family doctor assumed it was that. They insist that she has chlamydia and she gave it to me. They gave her a Z pack as well. Im just worried because i took my z pack on tuesday and im still having discharge. I drank a beer or 2 with my z pack later in the evening because i didn't know i could take alcohol with them. Now i'm wondering if the z pack didn't fully work on me.
