Ambien klonopin

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien klonopin

ambien

My docctor told me to discontinue klonipin all together and use ambien at night. Is this going to help? What do I do if I have a panic attack.. I also take 20mg of Lexapro. If anyone has any answers I would appreciate it as I am worried and skeptical.
Seriously though, I think you should go back to your doctor and ask for a either an anti-depressant (helps for slight anxiety) or a benzodiazepine (valium, xanax, klonopin). I take Klonopin (clonazepam) for my anxiety, and it works great, but benzo's are addictive for some people and most doctors are very hesitant to prescribe them for that reason, especially for teens. However, I'm not addicted to/dependent on Klonopin...
Everyone keeps telling me you need rehab to get off ambien is this true?? I have been on it for 2 years on and off. I have trying to cut my dose. Can anyone give me the side effects of discontinuation ?
I have been suffering from severe insomnia. cant fall asleep or stay asleep. I been taking xanex, norco & ambien. Now I cant think straight, have no energy no appetite & am starting to get really depressed. Does anyone know if the ambien is making it worse & making me feel drugged or is it the lack of sleep? Any help would be really appreciated.
if u r using 5-10 mg of ambien to sleep at night while detoxing off of klonopin...i would not worry...if u r taking 30-40mg ambien a night..then i would worry...
Yes, I have tried ambien, and ambien CR, and had to discontinue/stop it due to having long laps of forgetfulness. Not good! I tried Lunesta, and it is ok, however, my insurance won't pay for it, and I can't afford it. SO the doc thought this Klonopin would do the trick, but I didn't expect tears. Maybe it is relaxing me enough to release tears for all the high stress I am going thru!!! didn't think of that until reading all of the above. Thank you everyone for your assistance.
At night I can't sleep at all. The Klonopin is to help me relax and sleep. When and IF I start taking the Klonopin I will be taking .05 mg only at night. I have been reading on here and other places that this stuff is highly additive. Has anyone ever taking this drug to sleep at night? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've been suffering 4 years now with central/osa and the only thing that works to help me think and have more energy is asv+klonopin/ambien. this terrible disease has ruined my life and career has anyone found a better treatment? I have twitching/PLMD while I'm falling asleep and klonopin is an anti seizure med and helps regularize breathing I have asthma too and wheeze. anyway please email me if you find a cure!
Rozerem is good because it is not addicting in any way, and works differently than either ambien or klonopin. Ambien can cause just the kind of symptoms you describe, but there is also some underlying anxiety to deal with, probably related to the other health problems, so what you should expect is a good opportunity to talk through your current fears and life situation with someone who can help you understand what is going on below the surface.
I am horribly addicted to ambien. And before anyone says this, I am seeing my dr. tomorrow. But I wanted to see if anyone has had experience overcoming ambien addictions. I have been taking it almost every night for a year. I am treated for depression with wellbutrin and celexia. I think the ambien started to become a problem this summer, when I would take it on days that were particularly bad and I was anxious.
By now, I'm hoping you've conquered getting the Ambien monkey off of your back. I am on day 5 of Ambien withdrawl. The first 72 hours were pretty bad: zero sleep, sweats, severe stomach pain, headache, neckache and backache, diarrhea, nausea. I cold-turkeyed it as I wanted off Ambien ASAP. Was up to nearly 20 mgs a night every night for sleep for two months. Getting zero hours of sleep day after day can make you feel like you're going to die, but remind yourself that it WILL get better.
I have had a couple patients addicted to large amounts of Ambien. There isn't a great amount of guidance out there for handling detox from Ambien; Ambien binds to a subunit of the GABA receptor, similar to benzodiazepines, so I think that a benzo taper would be reasonable.
I have been on ambien for several years, Currently on Ambien CR. 12.5 mgs. I find that I can't sleep thru the night without it, which is scary. I have never doube of 10x's the dose. Just one pill. I know that I have gone to bed dog tired and awoke 2 hours later when I miss an ambien. When I take them they work like a watch. I don't mix them, and I don't take more than prescribed, I cant imagine taking 100mgs a night. WOW!
Thank you all for your responses, and I am starting to ween myself off of Klonopin, as for the Ambien I was just prescribed that, I do take it at night, but still have insomnia. I take it as prescribed every other night of 10 mgs. The doctor did say it's only short term, but I'm just so wiped out in the morning. Is there something else I could take that isn't addicting?
I have been on 2mg of klonopin 4x per day for at least 2 years. I have tapered down to 1mg per day and haven't had any in 3 days. I have been on so many combos of antidepressants and antianxiety meds over the last 6 years I can't even remember them all. Last year in March I decided I was going to taper off of everything. I had ECT at that time and it didn't work so I just decided to gradually rid my body of all the meds.
Since you have stopped taking it, please talk with your doctor about alternative sleep aids. Taking Klonopin and Xanax and Ambien at the same time, even if they are taken hours apart, is not a good idea. Two benzos should almost never be taken together unless under strict guidance from your doctor. There are a number of new drugs on the market for insomnia, discuss with your doctor trying one of those before turning to the more powerful psychotropics.
Hello, 8 weeks ago diagnosed with steroid psychosis. @#!*% is the only way to describe it! Mania and insomnia. Now I am better but my psychiatrist has put me on ambien 10 mg daily with klonopin as needed. I rarely take the klonopin as it appears that each day the "jitters" seem to be leaving me. I feel better as each day passes, yet I am concerned about withdrawing off ambien and if indeed I will be able to sleep on my own.
As for anti-anxiety medications longer lasting benzos such as Klonopin are generally used for more long term use due to having less of a potential of a person building up a tolerance to them. I've taken Klonopin for 10 years safely. As per Ambien you could take it as its prescribed but for a sleep aide that can be used continuously you could ask about Lunesta or Rozerem especially Rozerem as it works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle and has no potential of addiction.
I've been taking 2mg 1x/day and it has made me happier, more sociable, and has even helped me sleep where the 40mg of Ambien has not been able to help me with. I feel alive again. I have not been popping them like candy, but rather I've been experimenting with it because my psychiatrist would rip me a new one if I told her any of this. I know benzos are usually off limits for addicts, but I've been keeping an eye on myself. Should I discuss this with my prescriber?

I have 16 day clean from norco today, But these last couple nights I have not slept to well so I had to take an ambien to sleep. Now I feel like I just blew my 16 days clean.Boy,do I feel like an idoit.Because of the ambien do I have to start all over with my count?
I am *trying* to cut down on my ambien, last night I cut half a tablet off my dose. But I also take the klonopin to sleep too. I've been on the ambien so long it's taken over my life, since I was a teenager and I'm 24 now they've been a daily thing so giving them up is going to be so hard. I also have valium but I'm not allowed to take it because the doc said in the blood tests valium can show as temazepam and oxazepam and it will look like I've obtained drugs elsewhere.
Hi Well i took a whole 0.5 mg klonopin this morning and a 1/2 one at noon and i am feeling faint dizzy week legs,i cant seen to hear right,im wondering if ikts because i ws used to taking 1/2 pilll every 4 hours and then i put a hole one in my system and took the half to soon and the pharmissit saID I i might be slighty overdosed so im freaking..
At first I thought I had caught the flu with severe nausea, diarrhea, and extreme muscle aches. I treated those symptoms with the occasional vicodin, and the lack of sleep with Ambien, not realizing that these meds are just temporarily reducing my symptoms. I am hurt that my doctor would put me on something so addictive, but I must take some blame for blindly following advise without looking things up. Are some people able to manage their own taper successfully.
Because I just quit my Lamictal, Klonopin, and ambien cold turkey, I am 15 weeks but have to go to a high risk pregnancy dr. on the 23rd for a level 2 ultrasound so make sure that me stopping my medication didn't cause any nueral tube defects, or heart problems.... I am freaking out myself... I've had 3 ultrasounds so far and baby is fine, but it's still not big enough to tell..... Call your prescribing Dr. and tell them you need to be weened off the medication slowly.....
Now, I'm on Klonopin (which I hate, but will deal with that monster when I defeat this one) because of a genetic Anxiety Disorder and take one 1mg pill in the morning and, if needed, at the MOST 1/4 pill at night around 5 or 6. I was looking up a few things about Trazadone and really didn't like what I read about the two being taken. Now, what I've read is being taken at the same time.....
I started taking ambien, klonopin with bipap st or asv and it seemed to help a lot but today I still feel exhausted after many hours of sleep and don't have energy.
Hey All, I was wondering if anyone was on Lorazepam for anxiety/panic and then switched the Klonopin. I heard it works wonders for most people, but some reason, my psychiatrist wont give me anything but Ativan. The Ativan does nada for me :( She must think im lieing or something, who knows.
I use Klonopin at night for muscle spasms, to relax in general and to help with sleep. It has a long half-life unlike xanax which has a short half-life somewhere in the range of 11 hours according to a quick reference to wikipedia(take that info with a grain of salt) hours. Klonopin's half -life is supposedley 19-60 hours if used on a continual basis. I was prescribed Klonopin due to muscle spasms not reduced by baclofen. Xanax and Klonipin are both benzodiazipenes. Both are habit-forming.
