i have been taking lortab 10/500 & ambien for about 7 years. i am currently taking hydrocodone compound 15mg(5day), klonopin& alazopram, phentermine(3day), and when i fill a script for ambien i will take up to 7 late afternoon. i will also take the ambien and klonopin throughout the day if i am out of pain meds. i dont know were to start, i have hit rock bottom. i try to stop taking one then start abusing another.

if u r using 5-10 mg of ambien to sleep at night while detoxing off of klonopin...i would not worry...if u r taking 30-40mg ambien a night..then i would worry...

And what is the difference between the sleeping aid that is in Ambien and klonopin? Is Ambien more relative to what is in, say, Tylenol PM OTC? I am trying to find the least harmful sleeping aid. I take ativan now - 1 mg. to sleep. Is Ambien safer? My history is similar ot yours but I am on Norco - continually aiming to cut back and feel like I have been through w/d of one form or another 20 times in the last 90 days.

i was going to ask the EXACT same question last night l0l. i searched for previous topics and found none related this closely. last night i took 1 ambien and i'm also taking 5 mg klonopin for the last 3 days.

Yes, I have tried ambien, and ambien CR, and had to discontinue/stop it due to having long laps of forgetfulness. Not good! I tried Lunesta, and it is ok, however, my insurance won't pay for it, and I can't afford it. SO the doc thought this Klonopin would do the trick, but I didn't expect tears. Maybe it is relaxing me enough to release tears for all the high stress I am going thru!!! didn't think of that until reading all of the above.

t want to mess with any drugs that might be making the symptoms worse (i.e Klonopin or Ambien). I also don't want to become dependent on the Klonopin and ambien either. My question is when will this madness stop? I so depressed about all this. I just want my old life back (it was fine 5 months ago). Will I need all three of these to feel normal or will the Celexa do the trick in a few weeks? Please help.

Since you have stopped taking it, please talk with your doctor about alternative sleep aids. Taking Klonopin and Xanax and Ambien at the same time, even if they are taken hours apart, is not a good idea. Two benzos should almost never be taken together unless under strict guidance from your doctor. There are a number of new drugs on the market for insomnia, discuss with your doctor trying one of those before turning to the more powerful psychotropics.

I feel fatigued and tired at work and find it difficult to stay focussed. My Dr. gave me Ambien to sleep now, I drank a half of pill last night and still found it difficult to sleep. I just think and think all night long. I'm afraid of taking a whole pill and waking up natious or something. I've never taken Ambien before. My ob/gyn had me drop the klonopin cold turkey and wanted me to take ambien at night. I went to see my internist, and she is now weening me from klonopin and lexapro, and putting me on prozac. t get adequate sleep the worse its getting. I take ambien and klonopin 1mg twice daily. Has anyone got any suggestions? I would appreciate anyone's comments or further questions. Take KLONOPIN as prescribed and your wellbutrin as prescribed. Do not take xanax or ambien that is overmedicating and overkill.

I am horribly addicted to ambien. And before anyone says this, I am seeing my dr. tomorrow. But I wanted to see if anyone has had experience overcoming ambien addictions. My shrink put me on Paxil (antidepressant) and Ambien (sleep pill) and Klonopin (anxiety). I was weaned off Ambien after 6 mos. but kept on Paxil and Klonopin (as needed). These really helped me through. But be careful on Paxil , because it is very hard to wean off. Talk to your psychiatrist and see what's best for you. Any antidepressant will have side effects.

Yes, there are different dosages for Xanax and ambien. Ambien is a once at night medication, Xanax is usually one pill three times a day as needed. I don't have experience with klonopin or Zoloft, your MD will know.

After Ambien and Lunesta quit cold on me (due to the hormone change), I have been taking 1 ambien and 150 mg. of Trazadone for 3 nights now. I started with one Ambien and 50 mg. of Trazadone, then second night, I couldn't sleep so my regular doctor said to adjust dosage to 1 Ambien and 100 mg.. Third night I had to use 1 ambien and 150 mg. of Trazadone according to doctor's prescription of 1 to 3 tablets of Trazadone.

r u sure it is the ambien? it could be a mixture? all 3 drugs aggravate depression and out of the 3 ambien is categorized as the least addictive of the three drugs u r taking.....i would talk to my doctor and find another alternative for sleep....taking these every night could get u into trouble..have u tried the natural sleep aids like melatonin, valerian, etc?

There is a hesitance to give out the benzos, for the very reason that you described. I know several people who are prescribed Xanax, runs out of it in two weeks but manages to find it on the streets.. I am surprised that your doc wouldn't give you Ambien, but will give you large doses of Klonopin; that just sounds strange to me. I mean, if the Klonopin isn't helping you sleep, but the Ambien does, they should just cut you a script.

Well I've been taking clonazepam 1mg for about 18 months now, almost everyday (well every now and then for a couple months, but usually everyday) - and I also took ambien 20mg for about 3 years. t stand the weight gain and sluggishness anymore. Soooo, I saw a sleep doc and he has me on a combo of Ambien and Librium (I asked for Librium because I used to have an issue with Xanax and I heard Librium is the safest benzo), but I gotta tell ya, this stuff does nothing for me. I am on 10 mgs of it at night, along with 10 mgs of Ambien and the Ambien works a little, but the Librium I don't think does anything for me.

I take klonopin, also, plus zoloft and vistiril, ultram for pain, and sertraline for sleep, ambien as needed (i havent need to take the ambien yet). You may want to talk to your doctor about possibly raising your dose of klonopin and/or adding vistiril, as doing so might ease your nervousness.

Xanax and Ambien both are generally meant for short term use only. As for anti-anxiety medications longer lasting benzos such as Klonopin are generally used for more long term use due to having less of a potential of a person building up a tolerance to them. That will give you time to detox and to start some kind of aftercare!!! A therapist, AA/NA meetings, Celebrate Recovery etc.... I'm on Day three of a quick taper off Tramadol with the help of my Phsyc. She gave me Pristq for depression, etc...., chlonodin, and klonopin and Ambien CR for sleep. I'm getting through the days fairly well, just SUPER groggy which I'm thinking will subside as I continue and only plan on using the chlonodin, klonopin and ambien through like 10-20 days of withdrawal symptoms.
