Avatar m tn You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods.Steam inhalation can be used instead of nasal holding. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever. Eye drop versions of cromolyn sodium and antihistamines are available for itchy, bloodshot eyes. If the symptoms are intense then you can go in for immunotherapy.
Avatar m tn It typically suggests allergic rhinitis which is exaggerated or precipitated during cold season or timing. This condition is sometimes associated with asthma. The triggering factors like dust, fog, pollens etc. can cause the precipitation of these symptoms. From your history it is clear that you are allergic to dust.
Avatar n tn I regularly get cold-like symptoms which seem to morph into more allergy like symptoms. I get this often during the winter and sometimes 3 or 4 times per winter. It goes like this: - Starts off with a scratch in the back of my throat and feeling run down - Fairly quickly I am bed ridden with a terrible fever, fatigue, body aches, dizziness and a bad headache. Paracetemol is usually all I need to take the edge off every few hours, but I still bed ridden, and have no energy to do usual tasks.

Avatar m tn After she washed the cat I took anti-allergic meds for a some days, after that I stopped the medication and all my symptoms were gone until a week or so ago, my throat it sore, after doing some research online I found out that you can get asthma if you have an allergic reaction to cats, I don't think I have most of the asthma symptoms, but sometimes I feel lack of breath (barely noticeable), nasal congestion and I have a strange feeling every time I breath like if I was breathing cold air.

Avatar f tn I apologize in advance for this long question but i feel like i should really add all my details. Thanks for your time!! I have been having this cold allergy since maybe 4th grade. I used to get sent home everytime I got them because the "nurse" would say that it might be contagious. The doctor described it as a "CHRONIC ALLERGY" and never actually paid much attention to it saying it was nothing big,she recommended claritin.

Avatar f tn A couple doctors tell me maybe I have chronic siunitis, arthritis, allergy to cold, or problems from prior injury--I fell down stairs when I was a toddler. On top of that, the ENT doctor said my jaw alignment is off. My right side is off when chewing and she says may be the cause to ear pain in my right ear. This came to light when I took a flight recently and the pressure built up in that right ear something fierce.
Avatar f tn My hands always feel cold after i take allergy medication. Does this happen to anyone else? And why does it do that?
Avatar m tn Two colds in an otherwise healthy, non-smoker, young man in a several month period should ordinarily not be cause for concern, especially in the absence of fever or fatigue or, I gather any other symptoms. Although, green mucous is uncommon with the common cold, you might have had bronchitis or sinusitis with the cold. That the first illness eventually did completely resolve suggests two separate illnesses.
