Avatar m tn You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods.Steam inhalation can be used instead of nasal holding. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever. Eye drop versions of cromolyn sodium and antihistamines are available for itchy, bloodshot eyes. If the symptoms are intense then you can go in for immunotherapy.
Avatar n tn I regularly get cold-like symptoms which seem to morph into more allergy like symptoms. I get this often during the winter and sometimes 3 or 4 times per winter. It goes like this: - Starts off with a scratch in the back of my throat and feeling run down - Fairly quickly I am bed ridden with a terrible fever, fatigue, body aches, dizziness and a bad headache. Paracetemol is usually all I need to take the edge off every few hours, but I still bed ridden, and have no energy to do usual tasks.
Avatar m tn It typically suggests allergic rhinitis which is exaggerated or precipitated during cold season or timing. This condition is sometimes associated with asthma. The triggering factors like dust, fog, pollens etc. can cause the precipitation of these symptoms. From your history it is clear that you are allergic to dust.

Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn After she washed the cat I took anti-allergic meds for a some days, after that I stopped the medication and all my symptoms were gone until a week or so ago, my throat it sore, after doing some research online I found out that you can get asthma if you have an allergic reaction to cats, I don't think I have most of the asthma symptoms, but sometimes I feel lack of breath (barely noticeable), nasal congestion and I have a strange feeling every time I breath like if I was breathing cold air.
Avatar n tn It seems like i start feeling better with morning sickness and something else hits! Im not sure if i have allergies or a really bad cold . Ive tried allergy meds and cold meds and nothing helps ! Puffs tissues with vicks and lotion are my best friend right now.
Avatar f tn I apologize in advance for this long question but i feel like i should really add all my details. Thanks for your time!! I have been having this cold allergy since maybe 4th grade. I used to get sent home everytime I got them because the "nurse" would say that it might be contagious. The doctor described it as a "CHRONIC ALLERGY" and never actually paid much attention to it saying it was nothing big,she recommended claritin.
Avatar f tn If you get a very high fever take Tylenol as directed on the bottle. An anti-allergy medicine may help your ear ache if necessary.
Avatar f tn A couple doctors tell me maybe I have chronic siunitis, arthritis, allergy to cold, or problems from prior injury--I fell down stairs when I was a toddler. On top of that, the ENT doctor said my jaw alignment is off. My right side is off when chewing and she says may be the cause to ear pain in my right ear. This came to light when I took a flight recently and the pressure built up in that right ear something fierce.
Avatar f tn My hands always feel cold after i take allergy medication. Does this happen to anyone else? And why does it do that?
211605 tn?1219455746 How can I tell if my son has a cold or if its allergies?? My son starting coughing yesterday and today his nose is really runny and he still has his cough. My husband has severe allergies and sinus problems so we were thinking that since it runs in his family it could be that. But I don't know because today he has been really fussing and congested. He hasn't had a fever at all. I have been sucking his little nose out with the little snot sucker but it is constantly running.
Avatar m tn Two colds in an otherwise healthy, non-smoker, young man in a several month period should ordinarily not be cause for concern, especially in the absence of fever or fatigue or, I gather any other symptoms. Although, green mucous is uncommon with the common cold, you might have had bronchitis or sinusitis with the cold. That the first illness eventually did completely resolve suggests two separate illnesses.
Avatar m tn Stopping dairy may cure you.
Avatar n tn Hello, Since you are showing these symptoms after entering the swimming pool or river or ocean or rain water,so it might be that you are allergic to chlorine or any of the contents of swimming pool.It has been reported that swimming pool water increases the predisposition to allergies and hay fever in swimmers. You might also be allergic to the cold water of the ocean or to the inorganic and organic contents of the river and ocean water.
Avatar m tn Cold is not usually associated with all you listed out. Though it comes with cold or winter season often or with somebody that responds to change of temperature readily. All the things you said shows more of allergy, it now depends on if you have a family history of such or is just occuring to you.
Avatar m tn My allergy symptoms seem to go hand in hand with cold symptoms. You can develope allergies I believe at anytime in life. So maybe if there is a pollen or someother allergen in the area.
