118225 tn?1278654940 Hello, Cat allergen, the allergy causing material from cats, is not cat hair, but rather a protein present in the dander and saliva of cats. These allergens become airborne as microscopic particles, which when inhaled into the nose or lungs can produce allergic symptoms. Allergy desensitization shots or immunotherapy are an obvious and very effective way to work around a cat allergy. Immunotherapy will gradually make a person more and more resistant to the allergens.

If you suspect dust mite allergy, get allergy proof covers for your pillows, mattress and box springs and wash your bedding weekly in hot water. Fianally, keep all pets out of your bedroom. My favorite allergy treatment is the nasal rinse. I absolutely love it.
Avatar f tn It's summer - it's a big time for allergies. Even if you've never experienced allergies before, they can develop at any time. Or are you exposed to something new? Are you living in a house with mold? Working in a building with mold? Allergy-proof your house as much as you can - vacuum regularly, get new hypoallergenic pillows (old pillows hold a LOT of dust and all kinds of nasties) and get allergy covers for them.

Avatar n tn Hello, What you seem to be having is called dust mite allergy. These are microscopic organisms, which are related to spiders, live in many homes. Too small to see with the naked eye, dust mites thrive in warm, humid environments — eating dead skin cells and nesting in dust-collecting bedding, fabric, carpet and furnishings. Treatment includes avoidance of allergen. To reduce dust mites in your home, remove drapes, feather pillows, upholstered furniture, non-washable comforters and soft toys.

15695260 tn?1549593113 So I have seasonal and year round allergies. Basically, I'm allergic to everything. I always sleep with my windows closed, though I am fortunate to have AC. I have allergy covers on my pillows, and probably should on my mattress, but don't. I take off my shoes at the door so I don't track anything through my house, like pollen. I dust and vacuum at least weekly, if not more (I have one of those robot vacuums). This helps eliminate any pollen or whatever in the house, too.

Avatar n tn Hello, You seem to be having pollen hay fever or allergic rhinitis. Most pollens are windborne; they can often blow indoors (typically through open windows and doors) and trigger allergic symptoms such as allergic rhinitis (hay fever) within your home, not just outdoors. Wind-pollinated trees, grasses, and weeds produce pollen during various times of the year. Many people who are allergic to pollen may show allergy or cross reactivity to dust mites or molds also.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms it looks that you have hay fever or allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis is a collection of symptoms, predominantly in the nose and eyes, caused by airborne particles of dust, dander, or plant pollens in people who are allergic to these substances. As you are having the symptoms mostly at night the one thing that needs to be probed is dust mite allergy which is common in mattresses and pillows.

Avatar f tn Could you put a crib mattress or air mattress on the floor in your room and tell him that if he wakes up in the night, he can quietly come in and sleep on the air mattress on the floor in your room? Or just let him sleep on the air mattress on the floor in your room for now and then have him transition to his room, with the option of coming into your room if he wakes up, in a few months? It may help all of you to get some sleep while at least getting him out of your bed.
