I used aldara with great success. However, I have read it has a higher success rate in females than males. Still, I do not know how credible this information exactly is. What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...

dont use aldara. I think ACV even does better than aldara although some people here would disagree with my opinion. You can get mini surgery like electrocauterization, cryotherapy, or use podofin and its variants. These three, afaik, are better than anything else to treat warts.

hi there i have recently been using aldara cream for my anal warts (HPV) I have used it twice so far friday and monday. And today (tuesday) i have been feeling muscle pain, and i guess some kind of fever i feel cold or hot at various times of the day but i can function... but during the weekend i did play soccer and hockey and did sweat a lot and ran a lot.

I have a few questions about using aldara. 1) is it harmful to shave on off days from using aldara? 2) Can shaving make the warts worse? 3) Is sex okay when the cream is not on the skin? Thank you!

I was prescribed aldara cream as the warts I had were very small and unnoticable. They cleared up really soon, in about a week and a bit they were comepletely gone. I did suffer some unpleasant side effects but it was nothing I couldn't handle and it went away in a week or 2. This is the confusing bit. The virus HPV will always be in your system. Viruses are incurable unlike infections. Chlamydia is an infection, therefor it can be cured with antibiotics.

Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.

Hello Doctor, I spent almost $250 with this urologist and in the end all he did was tell me to use Aldara cream (Imiquimod) or liquid nitrogen. He said the warts were not big enough to be burned. Sigh. Anyway, here are my questions: 1) Is this Aldara (Imiquimod) cream good? Do you recommend it? 2) Can I have sex or should I remove my warts first? What can I do to reduce to the max the probability of contagiousness? I don't want to give it to my partners.

I went to the doctor, and they gave me Aldara for HPV. This was in January. Since then, I have had the worst yeast infections, and while one bump is slowly decreasing in size (and has hardened and turned quite red in the process), none of the others are changing size at all, and I am getting more tiny little white bumps within a few inches of the initial three bumps I had. I applied aldara (imiquimod) to the shaft of the penis in an attempt to get rid of what I presumed were penile warts. About a week after use, I developed well localised red and swollen skin on the head of the penis which then ulcertated and has been slow to heal. However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.

I was diagnosed with HPV a while ago (low risk very minor warts appeared). I actually had a few sub-skin; meaning they weren't visible unless you stretched the skin out and almost looked like hair follicles; removed yesterday by my dermatologist using a nitrogen q-tip treatment.
