Can someone please explain the differences between skin tags and HPV in regards to physical symptoms. About 4 months ago, after shaving my pubic region, I noticed what looked like a skin tag in the pubic hair area. It actually appeared to be a very thin piece of skin that was attached to the pubic area. It was very short, and extremely thin. Very hard to notice. I didn't think anything of it, it's now gone, but I noticed another recently on the right side of my testicles.
If for example, your are diagnosed with a melanoma skin lesion and the doc says to apply the aldara 1x/day every other day for 3 months. During this time, if your skin reacts violently in that area and perhaps beyond where the original lesion was, then your immune system is in over drive and will successfully clear the cancer in the area of the reaction. If there is no reaction, then there was nothing to attack.
The doctor called it vulvar dysplasia, and he prescribed aldara cream 3 times a week because he said that since there are so many a laser would be very painful and that we should try to remove some with aldara first. I have a few questions about using aldara. 1) is it harmful to shave on off days from using aldara? 2) Can shaving make the warts worse? 3) Is sex okay when the cream is not on the skin?

I've recently had colposcopy biopsies. The Lab reports came back high grade squamous cells, Vain III. I really dont understand it, but evidently the bad cells are thru 3 layers of the vaginal wall. My dr prescribed Aldara vaginally, twice a week for 12 weeks. I've had my 4th treatment, and I'm not having fun. Within 24 hours after teatment I am crying in pain, muscle aches, joint pain, my skin over my whole body hurts. I also have vaginal itching, burning, but its not that bad.

I had/have them in and around my ***, and everwhere up top. Aldara didnt work for me bacuase I waited to long to treat. I will be trying aldara again as soon as i heal up alittle. Its going to be an uphill battle with me as well. I know you probably hear this a bunch but get healthier, even if you're healthy. boost that immune system! stop smoking, drinking, smoking weed!
About a week after use, I developed well localised red and swollen skin on the head of the penis which then ulcertated and has been slow to heal. I have not been herpes positive before and dont think I have had recent contact with any herpes positive partners. The skin on the head of the penis likely was in contact with the area where the aldara was applied and would have been in contact with it for some hours at night. Anyone know if this is a common reaction for aldara.
My question is do you think that this could be an STD or some sort of irritation from the sex or natural occurance? Also I had Molluscum Contagiosum (misspelled prob) once and treated it with aldara and since I saw these areas of concern this morning I applied it to the areas just in case since I had some cream left over. Am I just over inspecting possibly? I wouldn't think that any STD would show this soon but thought I would ask regardless.
They are very small but many clustered with a few random ones on the lower part of my penis that popped up as recently as this week. I have been using Aldara for about 4 weeks with little skin reaction at all (not even redness). I have a two part question.
1. In your experience have you noticed Aldara be less effective depending on what part of the genital region it is applied? PI indicated 33% total clearance in males. I don't seem to be reacting to it at all.

Im a 19 year old male and i was diagnosed with Molluscum Contagiosum about 5 months ago on my genitals. I used Aldara cream which got rid of most of them and im basically clear of them however now on the shaft of my penis there is a spot where the skin is very raw looking. i put polysporin on it to help it heal. I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was normal after having Molluscum.

I have recently been using Aldara cream to try and eliminate my genital warts (HPV). Although the warts minimised in size after three months my doctor told me to stop using aldara because of the ineffectiveness and incredible sores and lesions that i endured whilst treatment. He reccomended me to a dermatologist for the treatment of the HPV.
m under treatment and uses Aldara as prescribed. I usually have protected sex and I thought I was exposed to this STI due to recent obsession on anal rimming. Just wanted to clarify the chance of one getting anal/genital warts through unprotected rimming??? How does the types of viruses that results anal warts get transmitted??? is it only through skin to skin contact or can there be a chance of getting these types transmitted through oral sex practises like sucking and rimming????
d have a higher risk of getting an STD if the area is not covered by a condom. Aldara makes the skin raw and in my opinion will likely make it more susceptible to transdermal infection. My opinion is also that you should just stop Aldara treatment and try electrocautery or even natural remedies (which have worked for me)

3 weeks without aldara and it still hurts? Sounds absurd to me. Skin irritation should heal within 1 week or max. 2. Maybe you have another STD infection that you werent aware of, and please remember not all STDs show symptoms (sometimes chlamydia or GO dont show symptom if you have a mild infection). You should get tested for all STDs, including herpes/syfilis/GO/chlamydia, basically everything.
1, does the cream cause a bit of itch even when it's been washed off or just when it's on?
2. i noticed what lookes like a "cut" near the perinem .around the anal opening..sort of like a small sore..
is that a side effect of the cream?
I had mild skin irritation while I was on it, but a week after I had stopped the Aldara I developed a rash around my anus near where I had been using Aldara and I’m worried it’s herpes. It was a red rash. It itched, felt irritated, and the skin was shiny. I would compare it to mild sunburn. I never saw breaks in the skin: no blisters, ulcers, or scabs. There were, however, tiny, red, separated dots in the rash around the hair follicles I think. I didn’t have any fever, aches, or tingling.
I have used aldara for awhile.. (i'm female)for me its only made my skin more sensitive and once it gave me a blister which made me bleed. Maybe you shoulod just call and ask your doc about whats going on..I only thought aldara caused local skin reactions.
