Common Questions and Answers about Abscess keeps coming back

abscess

Hi, The abscess in your breast should be lanced and drained. But if your infection keeps coming back after incision and drainage, a wide excision of the infected area may help. Has your doctor made a culture of the infecting organism? If not, then it should be done so that a proper antibiotic treatment can be focused on the offending organism. It is also possible that your infection keeps coming back because you have some other illness which could affect your immune system, such as diabetes.
I have a big bump under my arm and it keep coming back. It comes back in the same shape and place under my arm and today it popped because of the way my arm was positioned, and some stuff that was not thick like pus but had the consistency of like syrup. And I squeezed it a little more then I seen blood so I stopped and now I have a tissue under my arm and theres brown stuff on it like old blood. And I also put vaseline in it and that didn't help.
If the infections happen to come back again and keep coming back then i would advise you to take Keflex to stop the infections as soon as it starts the first little signs of infections (it helped me alot with stopping the infections). Recently on the 4th of December i had a successful operation done and it is now all cleared up.
He drained it and injected antibiotics and gave me a prescription for cleocin 150mg, i started the meds straight away, but my swelling keeps coming back while i sleep. The first day it was just my upper lip and a small part of my cheek, now it's my lip, my whole cheek, my nose and eye which is also black now. I've tried ice packs warm salt water and none of this seems to affect the swelling at all.
Now today it feels as if the infection is coming back my tooth hurting and I have a fever again. What do you recommend?
I wish I could tell you all that everything resulted as planned. Abby has developed an abscess and they once again had to sedate him and take care of that. Doctors do not feel comfortable sending him home and will call me with an update tomorrow, Tuesday. He is stable and doing fine, they said. But then again they always say the same thing, and then call and tell me he is not healing. I wonder what the heck is going on with my cat. Why can't he heal already?

Abscesses happen, and once they happen, you can be prone to them again. Where are you getting them? Have you taken antibiotics? If the abscess keeps coming back in the same spot, it could be that it is never really going away and may need a different treatment. Let me know.
I have pain that persist on my right side below the ribcage the pain radiates to the middle of my back and the center of my chest. Like a burning sensation. I avoid eating as much as possible to help the pain not be so intense. I notice when I do eat I have alot of belching along with intense pain. The pressure builds and builds and is relieved by belching, but the pain is still there and persist. The pain has been so bad that many times it wakes me at night.

Last night I went to the ER for a dressing change that involves unpacking and repacking 2 newly drained abscess areas. As I arrived, the pain became sharp and shooting and I was not able to sit; no position was comfortable. We went through the normal check-in process with standard questions, BP check and an ID band and was taken back to an exam room. Once into a hospital gown and a sheet, I laid down on the table with my head elevated and my knees bent.
These kind of infected lumps are usually treated with antibiotics. But if it keeps coming back, surgical removal of the infected area may be necessary. I don't think you should be worrying too much, because it doesn't sound at all like a breast cancer symptom, but you should see your doctor ASAP so that this painful lump can be adequately treated. Best wishes...
I was referred to a breast specialist because the abscess kept coming back. The specialist told me I had granulomatous mastitis. I'm just so frustrated with my doctor because she doesn't want to do anything about my pain. I keep telling her how much pain I have but she ignores me by telling me to be patient and this might resolve on its own in about a year.
I had it years ago too and it was nothing. Strange that it keeps coming back. Going to ENT specialist next Wednesday. Does anybody have any ideas? If so, what is the common procedure to get rid of?
They seemed to have helped for a short while but the C Diff keeps coming back. He thinks he has it again. He is not able to work because he is so sick. He is in a lot of pain and tired all the time. He uses the washroom about 15 times a day. He is taking Florastore but still no improvement. He has seen multiple doctors and they really don't seem to have any answers for him.

I am 16, I had a root canal when I was 10 but an abscess grew there when I was 14. They had to take out that tooth and was gonna place dental implants in but my othro sugggested that I pull up my wisdom teeth from the back to close the space from where the teeth was removed. thanks for your reply!
They do not hurt or anything else but my skin on the side of my thigh and on my lower back gets sensitive. They keep coming back in the same place. My doctor prescribed be Bactroban which seems to work because in about 5 days or so the bumps turn purple and just fall of in the shower with no form of ulcers or open skin present, the skin under it is healed, by best description of how the skin under it looks is how it looks like when a scab had just fallen of somewhere you got cut or something.
Everytime I come off the antibiotic i get mucous membrames in my urine and a burning sensation in the urinary tract. My urine culture keeps coming up negative. I took a urine cytology(Fixed urine) which cleared me of bladder cancer and infection. i took an ultrasound of my bladder that showed I was clean. no back pain,no blood, my urologist says it that it is nothing; however, when i go off the antibiotic my urine gets cloudy in two days with stinging/transient discharge down the urethra.
Yesterday I went to the surgeon about the abscess on my bum (I prefer lower back, but realistically speaking I suppose it is my bum), he said I had to be admitted into hospital immediately to have the abscess opened up and drained. I got the abscess from an intra-muscular injection while I was in hospital. Being back in hospital was no joke, I felt a bit hysterical, but luckily I was in theatre before I knew it.
I've had two surgeries on it in the hospital over the years and nothing keeps it from coming back. I've tried antibacterial soaps, tea tree oils which is said to kill Staph, continuous bathing, Echinacea, vitamins, healthy diet. "Nothing" helps. So much for the ingrown hair theory! I really don't think that is it at all at this point.
Went to her recommended ENT and he performed surgery and removed small throat cyst and viral wart. Still feeling persists. I had an MRI but results aren't back yet. Gastro doctor will do an duodenoscopy this Tuesday to rule out reflux and I am having my uvula shortened because right now it looks like it is touching the back of my throat. I have been perfectly healthy till now (55), and coming from Canada I find the medical system difficult to navigate.
it is possible that your infection keeps coming back because you have some other systemic illness which adversely affects your immune system, such as diabetes. In this case, the systemic illness has to be controlled before the infection will heal properly.
Since that time, I have had 6 surgeries and even had a duct removed and this keeps coming back. Many doctors look at you as if you are a big baby but the fact is this hurts a lot. I still have swelling up to 6 times a year. Sometimes I can drain it at home with a small needle. The one I have now will require aspiration again. My pain is not only on my breast but under my armpit as well. My question to you is,how are you suppose to find a reliable doctor who knows what they are doing?
jpg I don't know what this is, but it keeps coming back and it's beginning to worry me. Every time I consider whether or not I am going to consummate a relationship with a woman, I tense up, realizing that I may well be giving her a life altering disease, and never call her again. All of the clinics in my town tell me that they can't really tell me what I have. They say that not even the Herpes tests they give are truly conclusive and definitive.
