I am sorry to hear that you are going through this.. doing a 24 hour urine specimen is for what they consider diabetics.. Although you may not be diabetic, they want to do a 24 hr .urine protein level because high bp can also cause diabetes... If you have protein in your urine, that mean's you are possibly diabetic.. I know this because my husband is, and he has to do 24 hr urine's all the time...

) but those 5 months I got chronic lower back pain during my periods. No pain during pregnancy with him. After I had him, I went back on the pill for about a year and then what do you know, came off it to try for a second baby and the pain came back. MAJORLY. Finally saw a gynaecologist who said he thinks I have Endo and that either the pill, pregnancy or laparoscopic surgery will reduce it. That was 6 months ago. I also miscarried before I saw that doctor at 4.5weeks too.
Does anyone know if melatonin is safe to take during pregnancy? The only real problem I have right now is getting to sleep. Usually I would take a lorocet just before I passed out, but I'm doing so good today. I don't want to take any more than I have too! I've taken melatonin before when I had problems getting to sleep & it worked great with no groggy feeling. Also, I've been noticing, ever since I've cut down on my pills & I go to sleep, sometimes I jump.
is it normal to get a negative pregnancy test 24 hours after embryo transfer?
Some women will experience a condition called sciatica during pregnancy. This often happens when the baby's head presses against the pelvic bones causing the nerves in your lower back and legs to be compressed. Severe pain often results and can occur in the lower back, leg or legs and even buttocks. Some women will also experience numbness or tingling in the legs. For some women the pain is so severe they aren't able to lift their leg or walk without excruciating pain. So what is a woman to do?
Today I had another routine urine test, I am 28 weeks pregnant, my doctor said there were traces of sugar and said that this could indicate diabetes, as I am seeing my consultant at the hospital tomorrow anyway my doctor did not pursue this any further, she did say some women can become diabetic during pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this? If so what were the implications?
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for years. We were so happy to have a positive pregnancy test and now I'm experiecing bleeding.
I've had testing on my kidneys and everything, and they can't find anything wrong. As far as pregnancy goes, I've also had it in my urine during this pregnancy, but not at a high level. I have had to do 24-hour urine collections a couple of times so he could check kidney function but, other than that, no big deal. I'm sure he'll keep an eye on it to be safe, but if your MD isn't concerned, I wouldn't be either. Protein in your urine can mean a couple of things...
anyone familiar or heard, know, experienced taking subutex while pregnant? i am now on 1mg per day and there is limited studies. please help.
I've done 5 hpts in the last week. I'm totally obsessing too. I'm never late and all of them are false. Called the doctor and he said to wait until after the weekend and if still no period, he'll do a blood test.
i cant imagine what this drink is going to do to me. but i was told not to eat or drink anything within the hour before the test during the hour i have to wait, i will have an ultrasound, my rhogam shot and then i will have my blood taken.
Now, about me. I dont know if anyone has this same problem as me. I have missed my period for 2 months now. My last day of period was July 9th. The urine test for pregnancy was positive once. Got the blood test, it was negative. Went to ob specialist, the urine test was neg, the blood test was neg. I was experience cramping, not hungry hungry, I felt some movement. Still no period for a whole month, went back to my doctor, we did some test on hormone levels and glucose.
I had to 'endure' the 24 hour urine test. I ended up going full term and had a vaginal delivery. My Dr. said I was dehydrated, but I cant recall if that was related to the protein or not.. Im not that helpful, but wanted to let you know I went through that, and all ended up a-ok for me.. Good luck.
Im just glad to see im not alone in this.Im going in for a blood test in the morning since i can see that the urine test isnt doing it for me either! Good luck to the rest of you and good to me!
This bleeding lasted about 4 weeks before i finally went to see the doctor. he immediately did a urine pregnancy test but it came up negative and i had a blood test as well but it was also negative. Could my levels have gone down to zero after i had bled it out?. About 1 week later i went and had an internal ultrasound and they said that my uterine lining was very thick and they could see some tissue on the uterine wall that looked like a polyp but they never said for sure that it was a polyp.
What do you mean when you say that a positive blood test doesn't mean a successful pregnancy? My blood test came back positve on Aug. 8 with a HCG level of 302 then I had to go back on Aug. 10 and my HCG was 708. I took another one yesterday but my doc hasn't called me back with the results. So, should I still be worried???? mrsstr- Good luck to you and I hope that your bpt come back positive.
I just read alot of your comments on these pregnancy tests and I think I had a chemical pregnancy. I took a pregnancy test on Sunday- which was positive and 4 since then which have all been negative.. I have a doctor's appointment to confirm what the heck is going on, but reading all of your posts really helped me ease my nerves!! I thought I was going crazy..
If you're not going to use FMU then try to hold in your urine for 4 hours and don't drink anything during that time to dilute the urine. Good luck on the BFP!
i also have a watery discharge during my period. it is clear and odorless. even if there is very little blood on my tampon, it soaks through and leaks through my pad and clothing as well. recently, i have been having less liquid blood and more clots, with a lot of the watery discharge. i have three solid days of going through both a tampon and pad within an hour. i also have severe backache and cramping, and just generally feel ill, which i realize could be just normal period stuff.
He told me that I had expelled the lining of my uterus and that it was a very rare occurrence and that it was very possible that I had an ectopic pregnancy. I had a pregnancy test and ultrasound, which both were negative for pregnancy of any kind and then another two weeks later. He has never been able to explain why this happened to me. Since then, I have had five pregnancies, and produced two live children. Has anyone experienced something of the same?
About3 months ago I went to emerg for upset stomach and cramping , dr did a pregnancy test (urine) came back positive . Then did blood work turned out negative.. He later said it was just a false negative.I'm studying to become a nurse and I know urine tests are not very sensitive, its the blood tests that work more efficiently. I then had my appendix removed. I'm on b/c and take it regularly my periods have been lighter since then but when i do a hpt it says negative.
However, my OB/gyn sent me to have monitoring at the hospital clinic to rule out pre-eclampsia last Friday. I had a 24 hour urine collection to see how much protein was in the urine, (anything over 300 is too high) bloodwork with a full panel and liver workup, and hooked to fetal monitors for almost four hours to make sure the babies heart rates were ok with my blood pressure fluctuating.
i was feeling a lil sick and sleeping all the time now i feel a lil better i bought a home pregnancy test but then i got the brownish stuff so i havent taken it..is there a possibility i could be pregnant???????
These often don't show on a simple 24 hour UA because we have learned how and what not to eat just in daily life. The only test that revield my issues was done at a University as part of a study. Here they had me come in fasting and took blood and urine samples. I was then given a high dose of calcium to see how my body would react to it. Here we learned that my body does not process calcium right and therefore, esp, when I am pregnant and on prenatals, drinking milk etc.
Most data indicate that it will not cause birth defects in the event that it is inadvertently taken during pregnancy, and it will not cause abortion of an established pregnancy. Emergency contraception is most effective when used as soon as possible after unprotected sex, but may be effective up to 120 hours after the fact. Studies indicate that use of emergency contraception prevents up to 75% of expected pregnancies. There are very few people who cannot take emergency contraception.
