I did not know TylenolPm was tylenol + benadryl, thanks for that information. Maybe I can kill to birds with one stone, sleep easy and no itching!!
Thanks again all!!
I have some serious trouble sleeping I did before i was pregnant and was taking Ambien, but I am afraid to take that while being pregnant, am I able to take TylenolPM to help me out?
i was told that regular tylenol was okay, but i don't know about tylenol pm. oh, how i miss tylenol pm!!! it would provide me with some of my best nights sleep!! i can't believe you are almost there girl!! 38 weeks!! sorry you're not sleeping. is it comfort issues or being unable to turn your brain off?
I've taken tylenol PM a few times to help with sleep. When life gets busy I tend run at full steam and when it gets late and I'm in no way ready for sleep yet I know I need to be up in 6 hours or so I'll take a couple to help me wind down and get to sleep. As an opiate addict I've spent too many nights wide awake and tried to work the next day.
It was in my system for maybe an hour and I ate a full meal but then I got upset and took a lot of tylenolpm...not sure how many but I think five to twenty with juice. I realized after what I had done and threw up as many as I could...about five. I drank water and went to sleep. I slept most of the next day but ate and today I went to school..I was drowsy and had stomach pain but it went away and all afternoon and evening I've been fine...
Has anyone taken Tylenolpm during pregnancy? Or acetaminophen/ diphenhydramine. My doc said its ok but im just so nervous i haven't taken any medicine while pregnant and don't like to but i just can't sleep at all and im misserable.
The only safe thing is acetaminophen, not mixed with anything else. The TylenolPM contains a drug that would put you to sleep, and the baby as well. It could have harmed your baby. Meds like that affect fetuses in other ways than it affects us. It could have slown her heart. I'd take a trip up to L&D just to be sure she's okay and her heart isn't slow.
Next time try just Tylenol alone, exra strength is fine.
Yup it is perfectly safe, tylenolPM is just tylenol and benedryl, both are safe during pregnancy. Make sure you are only taking it if you absolutely need it though. Try taking a relaxing bath and drinking some sleepy time tea, that might help or at least it is worth a try.
I have been advice by my obgyn that is ok to take tylenol, what about tylenolpm??? i know it contains some type of medicine to help you relax and go to sleep...
ve been taking 2 TylenolPMs nightly for the last week, I'm 14 weeks and having such trouble falling asleep at night. Should I try something else? I'm worried about the effects on the baby if any.
But you can take Tylenol cold, but no dm or pm stuff to help you sleep. Peppermint helps with sinuses and lavender helps with headaches. But if your fever is above 101, go to the er!
But why bother with the Tylenol/acetaminophen? Long term use affects the liver. The ingredient in tylenolPM that makes you drowsy is Diphenhydramine or benadryl. I would just get that, 25-50 mg per night.
