Zyprexa withdrawal nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Zyprexa withdrawal nausea

zyprexa

Avatar m tn I thought my symptoms were from withdrawal but he said that I shouldn't experience withdrawal from Zyprexa, especially since the new drug, Seroquel, was in the same class. So I was told I had an inner ear problem for the last four months and have been suffering through these symptoms. I finally got fed up, and after seeing many other doctors who couldn't find anything wrong with my ears, I am convinced it is from the Zyprexa.
Avatar n tn your problems with intense nausea and vomiting following withdrawal from zyprexa. I am only on my eleventh day of withdrawal from zyprexa, and like you described, I am suffering severe nausea. I'm very lucky that I haven't actually vomited, but I'm not eating much. I had an anti-emetic called metaclopramide in my medicine cabinet, so I tried that, but it didn't work.

Avatar m tn My pdoc also doesn't believe a person can have withdrawals from Zyprexa. Things have improved a little, but the diarrhea and nausea seem to be worsening. The anxiety is slowly getting better. The lack of sleep has me alarmed, as I only can sleep for about 3-4 hours before waking up. It's been like this for 12 days. I've read enough accounts of other people who went through Zyprexa withdrawal that I know it's real.
Avatar m tn My psychiatrist has tried me on ambien, lunesta, Ive' even used 2 lunesta and I DO NOT GET SLEEPY! I've done research on sleep disorders, zyprexa withdrawal, etc. and a lot of information states that zyprexa withdrawal can cause insomnia. However, is this the same as not feeling sleepy? Its been a month and I haven't been tired and whats even wierder is that i wasn't tired when i got back on the zyprexa after stopping it for 4 days. I am wondering if i am ever going to be sleepy tired again.
Avatar n tn My son is experiencing 7.5 mg zyprexa withdrawel I believe. He has been in bed on and off for 4 days with headache and very sick to stomach. How long with this go on????? What can help the stomach???? He has only been on this med for 3 months. I would hate to see what someone on this for years would go through!
Avatar n tn I have been of Zyprexa cold turkey after puting on 30 pounds, so it has been five days I am still suffering from nausea and headaches and loss of appetite. The worst was the first 3 days where I was sweathing uncontrolably in my sleep, I was drenched in sweath over and over again during the night, after that it stopped. Now my family doctor wants me to go on topomax which will help with my mania.I just don't want to go back on zyprexa ever.
Avatar n tn My girlfriend is two weeks into Zyprexa withdrawl and along with the constant nausea is experiencing bouts of pretty severe abdominal pain. She says it feels like a muscle cramp inside her stomach. Has anyone else experienced anything similar while detoxing from the Zypexa? She also belches almost constantly. If anyone could offer information on this I would really appreciate it.
1623698 tn?1299164834 Within days I was extremely dizzy and nauseous and I concluded that it was withdrawal from Zyprexa so the Psychiatrist said to go back on it. Two months later, when I was feeling better, we tried it again but the same thing happened. By this time I was being told that I had an inner ear problem or it was caused by the new med. I was then given Saphris and continued to be dizzy and nauseous. After two weeks of that I was taken off that class of drugs and given Remeron.
Avatar n tn vertigo, headache, nausea, and general weakness. iOn this third day, off Effexor and on Wellbutrin, I have crying jags and unexpected significant irritability. My pharmacist and doctor's nurse do not have an answer so I turn to those who have used these drugs. 1) Does Wellbutrin have known interactions with other drugs.
1030383 tn?1338464385 I'm withdrawing from Zyprexa, Abilify, Ativan and sertraline. It's been three weeks and I've had terrible nausea, stomach pain, fatigue, and generally not feeling good. How long will this last? And, any ideas on how to deal with mania since I can't just "knock myself out" like usual? I need to get enough sleep to stay out of the hospital!
Avatar m tn I am on day 4 of withdrawal from hydrocodone. Is there anything OTC that I can take to help me sleep? Would Zyprexa help at all? I had been taking 20 per day for about 10 years. Over the past 2-3 weeks, I have been tapering them back, down to about 10 per day. I have taken 0 over the past four days. I haven't slept in several days. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Avatar f tn My various GPs were happy that I was taking it as little as possible but even when I went to them with diarrhea nausea, restless legs and arms, night sweats, extreme exhaustion and a horrible heaviness, none of them mentioned that it could be tramal withdrawal. I would often improve during the day after taking tramal in the morning and would be at my best later in the day. I finally worked it out myself (no surprise to most of you, I'm sure).
5093508 tn?1390547531 It is possible that she feels that when taken, Zyprexa will dull the anxiety enough to help with the Valium withdrawal but here in the US, this is not a typical benzo taper. Why not ask her outright why she is prescribing this drug? Express your concerns and the contra-indications (heart health, stroke, renal health, diabetes, etc.) & see what her reasoning is? Also, is she tapering you off both Zoplicone and Valium at once? Some Drs. would want to do one at a time.
5790942 tn?1374337921 I know I have to quit before my addiction gets much more serious. My psyciatrist gave me 10mg olanzapine (zyprexa) for the withdrawal, but I have not quit cold turkey yet. (got the perscription yesterday) What can I expect from my withdrawals? Has anyone taken this withdrawal medication? Any home remedies or helpful quitting ideas?
Avatar n tn , got sick, ended up in the hospital and then saw the doctor next day. He put me back up to 3 mg. xanax every day and 10 mg. zyprexa zydis. So, I've been taking that then since last summer. I finally got off all the medication, the zyprexa I got off in January completely and the xanax I finished my last dose on April 13th. I reduced sometimes every week a half mg. and then someone told me to reduce by 1/4 mg. I never even had panic disorder to begin with...my doctor misdiagnosed me.
Avatar m tn Hi I would like to know if after three years of taking low doses of sertraline 25 mg and 2.5 mg of Zyprexa the nausea, gagging reflex with NO throw up and dizziness I feel can be due to the discontinuation of the meds. I was told to stop cold turkey since it was such a low dose that I was taking I was prescribed due to a depresion and chronic anxiety conduct.
Avatar n tn placed me on Abilify and my heart palpitation was so severe that I had to go back on Zyprexa. I am taking 1.5 mg of kolonopin for anxiety and 2.5 mg of zyprexa now.Tried to cut out the medication completely but my simptoms returned so I can't do without any medication. Are there any other medication in the market that is similar to Zyprexa that would not effect my liver enzyme? Used Efexor but had heart palpitation.
Avatar n tn The first day or so, not too much trama, however, by day 3 the nausea, head-spinning, tingling sensations, dizziness and just plain feeling sick-in-the-head and out-of-it feelings took over. Since I am new to this kind of med transition, can you tell me if what I am physically feeling is pretty usual when changing medications. I just don't want to lift my head up, it's like the hangover from down below, that won't go away or lessen.
607502 tn?1288251140 Im getting parasthesia (brain zaps), nausea and manic like no toomorrow - ive taken zyprexa 2 hours ago and no sleep and the 10mg of valium every day is just taking the edge off. 75mg now down from 225..
Avatar n tn A month ago during a regular visit, he informed her that he feels that she is bipolar and prescribes Zyprexa. The dosage was for one 5mg pill a day for a week and then two of the same each day. The experience was horrible. Vomiting, (involuntary..she had a history of bulemia which she had overcome nearly 10 years ago), nausea, a rapid and noticeable weight gain, always tired, very sleepy, etc. Her doctor kept at her to take this stuff but she finally took herself off of it.
Avatar n tn I sought the help of an alternative doctor who gave me natural supplements as I was withdrawing from the pych meds. Withdrawal was not fun...it was probably one of the most painful things I ever had to do in my life but I'm so glad I did it. I have been free from Geodon for one year and completely drug free for five months. I decided to trust in myself, do my own research, and heal myself.
Avatar f tn I think it's always a good idea to contact a doctor when starting a detox. There are rx meds for nausea and elevated b/p. You could get a taper plan or go cold turkey;it's up to you. I do think sometimes an antidepressant is helpful and I don't think they work as well when there's chronic addiction. Ask the doctor about it. You can post here as often as you wish! There's support everywhere!
Avatar n tn For 10 years no problems, and then out of the blue, I started the original symptoms of the meningitis with fever, chills (my wife came home to find me under all the blankets in the house), nausea, headaches, and my wife says she remembers me having a stiff neck--hence, viral spinal meningitis.
318307 tn?1193934917 days 2 and 3 were complete misery and included several of my usual psychological symptoms. i experienced pretty bad diarreah, nausea, and headaches, and also severe mood swings (crying for no reason other than an overwhelming feeling of sadness, very energenic mania-like feelings that almost convinced me that i might be manic-depressive - though i doubt this is true, outbursts of rage/very easily provoked, etc.
Avatar n tn I woke up and jumped out of my bed terrified at what I was feeling. Terrible headache, nausea, crazy thoughts and visual hallucinations. Waves of energy ran through my body almost like I was on fire on the inside. I was completely physically agitated and could not sit down or eat. I had to pace or walk or run just to get the nervousness to be bearable. I actually ran circles around my house and one day I ran down my street in a sprint right out of bed, almost naked.
Avatar n tn He's also experience constant diarrhea (last 6 months), nausea, vomiting, chest pains that move up into his jaw, tingling fingers, a lots of fun other things. Nothing has been found to be wrong with his heart and he has an appointment with a gastoendonologist in two weeks to have a flexsig done. Last week his GP put him on Paxel. Since starting it, we have heard from two friends about the awful things this drug can do to you when you go off from it.
