Zoloft for kids

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft for kids

zoloft

Avatar f tn I was taking pristiqe for depression and anxiety I'm 6 wks today and as soon as I found out I was pregnant the Dr. Made me switch over to Zoloft for depression. I've heard nothing but horrible things about Zoloft. Is there anyone that has takin it during their pregnancy? What is your opinion and experience?
Avatar f tn Well, there is one thing that stands out -- your kids going to college shouldn't be a stressor for you. Might be for them, but not for you. That's something you always knew would happen, it's the normal course of life, and if that's upsetting you, it's either part of everything else that's going on or you have financial problems or maybe there is something else going on that indicates a separation or anxiety problem.
1771101 tn?1314103509 I have been taking zoloft for about 3 months and the medication takes about a month to kick in after that it really helped me I was feeling very well even tok away my depression. Since then I've unfortunately have had another setback because I suffer from health anxiety. But I would have been a wreck before and now I still feel anxious but it hasn't hit me as hard and I think it's because of the zoloft..
Avatar f tn I actually stopped taking Zoloft, which I had been on for years, when I found out I was pregnant. It is one of the safest SSRI's that you can take while pregnant, but it is still in that family of medications that can cause heart and lung birth defects. I would still trust what your doctor says. But just maybe do some reasearch on SSRI medications so you can be informed. If I am remembering correctly the first trimester is the most hazardous time to take these medications while pregnant.
Avatar f tn Assuming so with his prescription for Zoloft. Has he been taking the Zoloft long? It typically takes about 6 to 8 weeks to work. This must be heartbreaking for a parent. Is something going on? Is dad in the picture? Disengaging in school, ignorning personal grooming are signs of depression. If they are new especially.
Avatar m tn As mammo said, there are alternatives to Zoloft. Sometimes it is just a little trial and error...what can work for one person may not be a good match for others...keep us posted!
5255779 tn?1414034937 There have been commercials for zoloft causing birth defects. I stopped taking mine immediately when me and my boyfriend decided to try for a baby. Now im 20 weeks and 2 days.
Avatar m tn i have been on zoloft for a little over a year, i just stopped taking it, because i found out that im pregnant, im feeling dazed and and im emotional and feel nauseaus on and off through the day and im moody, i was wondering how long it take to get zoloft completley out of your system and the way that im feeling now, is it the zoloft or just being pregnant?
Avatar f tn Has anyone taking Zoloft and the baby has a birth defted they say it won't hurt the baby but I Sean on TV where it can
Avatar m tn This is going to be kind of stupid to ask because I'm sure nearly all of you have been prescribed zoloft for depression, if you've been prescribed it before... but how did zoloft work for your anxiety? They prescribed me some during my hospital stay for my anxiety. I'm already less jittery but feeling anxious a bit still but I know that will take a week or so to take full effect.
Avatar f tn I am a stay at home mom of three children. I have been taking Zoloft for 11 years at 100 mg. I have so much going on in my life now and feel absolutely out of control. I had tried to decrease the zoloft a couple of months ago and had severe diziness and anxiety was back. I am so scared to increase to decrease the anxiety I'm having. Does anyone suggest a great anxiety medication that weening off of zoloft wont make me crazy! This whold anxiety thing is so hard to deal with.
Avatar n tn I have been taking zoloft 10mg or sometimes 20mg. I would like to stop taking zoloft cold turkey. Is this a good idea? I've gained so much weight. Does zoloft make you gain weight?
Avatar n tn My daughter (15 years old) has been recently prescribed 50mg Zoloft for mild depression. I am very scared that this is not the right way to deal with the problems that she has and in particular scared of side effects and withdrawal dramas eventually. Do you have any suggestions how I could help her deal with depression without the medication and is Zoloft very dangerous to start with?
Avatar f tn Zoloft saved my life!!! The first couple weeks in it I felt weird on and off, but noticed if I didn't think about it, I felt better. I started on 25 though, but I'm sensitive to meds. Take it!!! You will be amazed how much better you feel. Hugs!
19264658 tn?1474861861 well the psychiatrist saw me for 3 minutes, gave me a Zoloft prescription and then told me I was not crazy enough to be there and released me.. I had no choice but to leave.. and I went straight into a better hospital but they told me I had an anxiety disorder and gave me a prescription for ativan 0.5. Which I only took half of a pill and completely knocked me out, so I refuse to take it.
Avatar f tn The primary doctor said i have virual virus do to allergies, so i saw my doctor who precribed me the Zoloft he said not take zoloft for two weeks until i get better from this virual virus then try the zoloft again if you have reaction to it stop the zoloft then wait a week and try different medicine called citalpram 20mm. i am so sacred to taking any medicine because i am so sentitive to medicine anyway.
Avatar n tn Zoloft made my hair really fall out. I am totally off of meds and have been for 5 months. I feel the need to start my meds again but am terrified of the hair loss. My mohter is almost completely bald on top. She has never taken anxiety or depression meds but has needed them for years because she is totally stresses and jsut a miserably unhappy person. I wonder if the stress has beent he cause of her hair loss. I feel like I am my mom made over without the meds.
Avatar n tn It may help with the depression that often accompanies the withdrawals...
Avatar n tn I took Zoloft for 4 years at 200Mgs a day and it never had that effect on me. I still loved, played, felt emotion, and all the other normal things that a normal person would feel. I also liked the fact that it made me a bit more social. If any antidepressant is having that effect on you then I would advise not taking it. Maybe I did become more self involved while on Zoloft, but it beat the hell out of wanting to put a shank in my neck. It was a good drug. Sure wished it still worked for me.
2198057 tn?1338531205 I am currently trying to look for a job, look after 3 kids, am a single mom, kids ages 11, 18, 21 and so grateful for this site as I feel quite alone in all this.
Avatar m tn On Zoloft 25 mg for 3 weeks. Initial terrible insomnia is getting better but still very tired. Sleeping 12-14 ours daily. Is this normal? Will it go away? Taking med in the morning and going back to sleep till 1-2 pm now. Will taking it at night help with the daytime fatigue or will it make insomnia worse? Will the fatigue make depression and anxiety worse if I cannot cope when school starts? Is Zoloft right for me? Should I be patient and wait longer?
1880256 tn?1322569908 I've been taking 100mg of Zoloft for 8 months now. Could that dose give me stomachaches and gassy stomach? Plus I've started taking vitaminc too.
Avatar f tn As I said Zoloft was a wonderful drug for me and worked great for my panic attacks and anxiety to where they were completely gone for years, and it may not work for you at all. You just need to try and see what happens that is the best you can do!!
Avatar m tn My OCD is centered around irrational thinking and it took Wellbutrin about 4 weeks before it really started to kick in for me so I'm guessing that Zoloft will be the same.
