zofran

Avatar m tn Hi, yes nausea is a symptom as vertigo and dizziness are too, sometimes the vertigo may be subtle and u may not feel dizzy, but u feel the nausea....I had it many times b4 my surgery...and many times I would vomit and I did not feel sick or dizzy...it was a very odd sensation...but, it is chiari.
Avatar n tn s terrible. Nothing gives you relief? Are you dizzy as well or is it all just the nausea? Vertigo can cause nausea and there are chronic issues like meneire's disease. But chronic nausea for 10 years--- wow. Do you take medication for it to control it like Zofran? Does it help?
4419530 tn?1368475773 Are you taking zofran? Those are some of the same things i was going through. Tylenol you can take for fever. Im 10w6d and yes this has been nothing but hell. I take my vitamins before bed with crackers and water. It helped.
Avatar f tn Agree, same here, esophagus & stomach irritated. Had severe nausea, sometimes vomited with no nausea & little warning, also experienced vertigo. Took zofran during wks 9-19 which helped but caused other issues. Illness worse with 2nd preg. This is last baby. I can't go through it again. I don't know how people with hyperemesis can cope. They must be super strong emotionally.
Avatar f tn Hmmm, not totally sure. There are several different types of Vertigo and here is a link to the type I experience: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/vertigo/DS00534 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benign_paroxysmal_positional_vertigo It can happen unexpectedly, even when you are sitting down, IF the angle of your head changes (and/or changes too quickly). Today being a holiday, I hope you are able to reach your doc tomorrow.
Avatar f tn I used Zofran and compazine in the past (not on tx) Zofran If it's okay for him to take had no sides and worked the best for me, i've heard others say the same thing.
Avatar m tn So, i have been suffering with vertigo, dizziness, fuzziness, fullness of ears, ringing, nausea, GI problems, i had a sinus infection, and double ear infection, i was on antibiotics, and now im on meclizine, and zofran, which none seem to work. I notice that i have been suffering from severe anxiety attacks since the upbringing of all this with my ears. Im unable to get into an ENT until Feb. 26th, even though i was hospitalized for a week for the anxiety being so bad.
5362981 tn?1366909987 called on call dr said to get him in the next day he was seen the next day and was told (and had already figured) that he had vertigo d/t the infection in his ears and that both ears were still infected was given another antibiotic last Thursday which he has not been able to take d/t needing to take with food and barely eating or not eating at all. the apt on Monday he was given Zofran and was told only to use PRN if he vomited again and to use Benadryl for the dizziness.
Avatar n tn Where are the pains exactly? I'm having intense stomach pains from the top of my naval to the top of my stomach and they are refrerring it to GERD (Acid Reflux Disease). I'd go see your GI and see if they can do an upper endoscopy on you. I'm going in on the 3rd to for one to see if I have GERD or a peptic ulcer. Drink a lot of water and a very bland diet (toast with peanut butter).
862235 tn?1336060295 The symptoms increased in severity until last Friday, when she was really at her worst. We obtained a prescription of Ondansetron (Zofran) that helped with the nausea. Come Sunday she was in sad shape again and I took her to the hospital. They gave her an IV of saline and Ondansetron and sent her home. Monday she was feeling no nausea but was barely able to walk because of the inner ear disorder and the associated vertigo.
Avatar n tn Three hours later I was on my bed vomiting for 14 hours. I had Vertigo from hell! I could not move my head or the room would spin violently. Finally I asked my husband to call an ambulance- I couldn’t take anymore. I remember screaming when they pulled me from the bed and on to the stretcher. They gave me Zofran in the IV and it did nothing to stop the vomiting. In the ER the doctor had no idea what was wrong.
1201433 tn?1328997637 I just want to say it is like night and day since they gave me a script for some , started today, I was up all last night vomiting, do not suffer ask your doctor for some!!

8367118 tn?1442605420 Maybe look into promethazine?
14346590 tn?1451854557 So has anyone taken zofran while pregnant? I try to stay away from all medicine except my vitamins but the other night I ate something and I'm guessing my baby really didn't like it because I've been kind of sick since then but the other night the nausea was unbearable so I took one.
Avatar f tn Any reviews on zofran ? Im 20 weeks and ive been taking it once a day almost my whole pregnancy to help me keep down food. But now im hearing bad things about it. I havent had an ultra sound yet so im worried about it?
Avatar f tn I'm now 12w3d and I've been having really bad morning sickness to the point I have to go to the hospital 3times a week just for fluids and I've been taking the prescription zofran since I was 9 weeks. I recently saw that zofran is being sued for causing birth defects.. I've asked my doctor about it and she just says that there is no evidence yet.. I'm trading the pill form and getting thru iv.. I'm a ftm and I just don't know what to do right now.
Avatar f tn How many mommies here had to take zofran? Is it really safe I am taking it now to help me on my sickness but worries still in my mind. Share your thought about this med.
Avatar f tn I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?
Avatar f tn Dmpnonna, I weighed 120 before pregnancy. Minus 40 pounds. I got down to 79 pounds. I went into preterm labor bc my body just simply could not support the weight of my baby. At 22 weeks my baby would not have survived. I was told by so many doctors "you have your baby now, he WILL die" zofran saved his life. If it wasn't for zofran I would weigh 107 now and I wouldn't still be carrying our sweet little boy at 30 weeks. Sometimes drugs are necessary.
Avatar f tn I've lost 7 pounds since I've been pregnant due to the morning sickness and appetite loss, so my doctor prescribed me Zofran but I really don't want to take it. I'm sure y'all seen the commercials and I looked it up and it does cause those things. What should I do?
11529448 tn?1419052525 So my doctor prescribed me some nausea medicine called zofran and I was watching a commercial on tv and it was talking about how babies are being born with birth defects after using the nausea medicine zofran. So should I stop taking it and find other ways to deal with the nausea ? or should I continue to use it if my doctor recommended it.
Avatar f tn My friend took it with her pregnancies and delivered healthy babies, but i know there are massive lawsuits against zofran. I would say consult with your Dr and approach with caution.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???
Avatar f tn I was taking Zofran my first pregnancy from 4 wks right when I had found out to 6-7 months and my daughter was perfectly healthy. So far this pregnancy I have been on it since 7 wks and still taking it at 22 wks and my baby boy is growing big and healthy. It is bs that they called you, I would of went off.
Avatar f tn Its so bad they prescribed me zofran. Ive been taking it ever since I entered my 2nd trimester.Ive been told there is lawsuits with this medicine as it causes birth defects. Any advice?
