zofran

Avatar m tn Hi, yes nausea is a symptom as vertigo and dizziness are too, sometimes the vertigo may be subtle and u may not feel dizzy, but u feel the nausea....I had it many times b4 my surgery...and many times I would vomit and I did not feel sick or dizzy...it was a very odd sensation...but, it is chiari.
Avatar n tn s terrible. Nothing gives you relief? Are you dizzy as well or is it all just the nausea? Vertigo can cause nausea and there are chronic issues like meneire's disease. But chronic nausea for 10 years--- wow. Do you take medication for it to control it like Zofran? Does it help?
4419530 tn?1368475773 I wasnt able to keep anything down either even water and they gave me zofran and it helped a lot it just desolves in ur mouth so its not like taking anything.
Avatar f tn Agree, same here, esophagus & stomach irritated. Had severe nausea, sometimes vomited with no nausea & little warning, also experienced vertigo. Took zofran during wks 9-19 which helped but caused other issues. Illness worse with 2nd preg. This is last baby. I can't go through it again. I don't know how people with hyperemesis can cope. They must be super strong emotionally.
Avatar f tn About 8 weeks into treatment, when I was having a lot of trouble with nausea and bloating and just about everything else was going wrong, and I was eating only Greek yogurt and eggnog, I got exceptionally dizzy one eve. I felt like I was drunk out of my mind on a lurching ship in high seas. I kept listing to the side and could not stand up. I had to lay down. It finally passed and I could get up. I still do not know why it happened and I have never had it before or since.
Avatar f tn One website I read said that compazine is better for opiod related nausea and phenergan is better for gastroenteritis and inflammation related nausea and vertigo. That description sounded more like what TX causes, maybe. The pherergan is also an antihistamine. A pharmacist told me they are very similar yet a website I was reading said they are very different. If anyone has an opinion, I'd like to hear it.
Avatar m tn So, i have been suffering with vertigo, dizziness, fuzziness, fullness of ears, ringing, nausea, GI problems, i had a sinus infection, and double ear infection, i was on antibiotics, and now im on meclizine, and zofran, which none seem to work. I notice that i have been suffering from severe anxiety attacks since the upbringing of all this with my ears. Im unable to get into an ENT until Feb. 26th, even though i was hospitalized for a week for the anxiety being so bad.
5362981 tn?1366909987 went back to the dr today d/t signs of mild dehydration was given prevacid and told he had hyperactive bowel sounds but to keep with the pedialite and Zofran and antibiotic as can. he has an appt with an ent but not for another 2 weeks. i'm at a loss for what to do for my poor child he's not a "chubby" baby so by no means so he have the extra weight to lose. any advice on what could be going on or how else to help him would be great!!!
1282565 tn?1271444844 I would sometimes experiance other symptoms such as heart palpitations, flashes of light, severe fatigue out of nowhere like when your dehydrated, shaking, dry mouth then mouth watering, insomnia, migranes, vertigo when laying down, and this strange thing where my gag reflex would just clench like when you throw up but not actually throwing up. I also had several fainting episodes that the ER couldnt explain. VERY FRUSTRATING AND SCARY.
Avatar f tn If that does not work, then you probably need a prescription for Zofran which blocks the nausea and vomiting (which is caused by the drugs). Many of us used Zofran. It works very well for most of us. I took 8 mg every 8 hours for a few months. Don't let this go. It will snowball. If the phenergan does not work, then ask for Zofran. Zofran does not make you sleepy. Phenergan does. Phenergan is cheaper, but Zofran works better (in my opinion). It is used to treat the nausea from Chemo.
Avatar n tn Where are the pains exactly? I'm having intense stomach pains from the top of my naval to the top of my stomach and they are refrerring it to GERD (Acid Reflux Disease). I'd go see your GI and see if they can do an upper endoscopy on you. I'm going in on the 3rd to for one to see if I have GERD or a peptic ulcer. Drink a lot of water and a very bland diet (toast with peanut butter).
862235 tn?1336060295 As some of you know, my wife started triple TX about 3 weeks ago. IF, RBV, Incivek. At about the 1 week mark she started experiencing dizziness, a popping in the ears (mostly the left side) and nausea. The symptoms increased in severity until last Friday, when she was really at her worst. We obtained a prescription of Ondansetron (Zofran) that helped with the nausea. Come Sunday she was in sad shape again and I took her to the hospital.
Avatar f tn All it did was put me to sleep, then when I woke up I just felt drunk and groggy and was still sick as a dog. I loved zofran though, I wouldn't have been able to eat at all or even drink if I hadn't of had it.
Avatar f tn This is just a informational post for any mommies who may be taking Zofran and also for mommies who took Zofran and gave birth to a baby with any defects.
Avatar f tn Me top and nothing works not crackers juice mints the zofran I'm sick as heck but soon it shall pass
Avatar n tn That is what caused the Vertigo which affected my balance. They gave me Valium and Promethazine and finally the vomiting and Vertigo stopped. I was admitted and spent 8 days in the hospital. I had an infectious disease doctor, and a neurologist. My tongue, throat, lips and face on my left side were covered in blisters. I got out of bed and fell - so they alarmed my bed. After about the third day the neurologist would ask me to smile and close my eye.
Avatar m tn Now, a VA doctors comes out to my house and tells me that he now thinks that I have Vertigo and Movement Vertigo which is causing my Anxiety situation. Can I be treated for vertigo and Tinnitus after all these years with success or is it too later for me now that 30 yrs have gone by without treatment of any kind? What can the neurologist and hearing doctors do for me now at this late stage in life and time?
Avatar f tn I have been taking Zofran and Reglan since week 7 and am now 23 weeks... The risk associated with dehydration and malnutrition due to HG is far greater than the potential side effects of Zofran and Reglan. My little guy is perfectly healthy up to this point. To each their own though.
2147300 tn?1369689688 yes some bad days but with this forum and the drrugs recommended by it help. Doc had no prob with zofran and highly encouraged this support forum. Cean, I took 4 mg last night before inc and it helped. I did have a constipation problem this morning that did no good for my golf swing and am curious if the zofran has anything to do with this. Will see doc about AD and mention conflicts with PI. I am not a pill guy on a regular basis but have drawer full of them.
10874336 tn?1415760929 Also the person who commented on the increase of cleft palates after being treated with zofran, studies have showed an increase in cleft palates in women who have taken zofran AND women who took none but had HG. This shows more that the chances of cleft palate is due to a diet deficiency rather than the drug.
Avatar f tn How many of you ladies are still taking zofran? My morning sickness is terrible. I'm 15 weeks and I throw up at least 5 times a day unless I take zofran and I've tried everything else and nothing works. But I know my doctor like personally and she assured me that it was safe and if it were her she would take it. I've lost about 30 pounds and only gained back 7 so she's worried about my weight. And I've lost it because of nausea. So how many Andre still taking it?
Avatar f tn Yea i took it with my daughter and shes amazing and healthy it really did help alot too.
Avatar f tn zofran is safe :). there are 2 nausea medicines that are considered safe for pregnancy, and zofran sounds like the better choice for you (since phenergan makes you sleepy, and that's the other option, i think it would freak you out!). every medicine is going to carry warnings, and there will be people who SWEAR that this medicine caused this or that...but that's the internet for you. it is considered safe, and your OB only prescribed it because they felt it was safe....
12380259 tn?1424964291 m 12 weeks with my second and have taken zofran with both pregnancies. Other meds and natural remedies did not work and i have had iv hydration twice with this pregnancy.
7753764 tn?1401853590 ve been taking Zofran the dissolvable tablet every morning and every evening and had only occasionally been throwing up well this morning I woke up with a horrible headache which is sadly one of the side effects of Zofran but it beats throwing up 6 times a day well now even the pill isn't helping. I have thrown up everything I've eaten today and all I've eaten is a bowl of cereal. Anyone else experience this?
Avatar f tn I am 14 weeks pregnant and my morning sickness has suddenly increased very bad I called thr dr today and the nurse gave me a prescription for zofran so far it's helped me and it says there are no side effects to me and my baby but some thing I was reading online says about causing cleft palates has anyone else taken this and is your baby perfectly fine?
Avatar f tn Yes zofran is great. Took in beginning of pregnancy and now again towards the end..
Avatar f tn Hello. I had to take it with my first pregnancy and it was amazing. I had awful morning sickness and it was the only thing that helped. I didn't experience any side effects.
