Is anyone else having horrible nausea to the point that you don't want to eat anything? I've had this problem for awhile but it just seems to be getting worse.
One website I read said that compazine is better for opiod related nausea and phenergan is better for gastroenteritis and inflammation related nausea and vertigo. That description sounded more like what TX causes, maybe. The pherergan is also an antihistamine. A pharmacist told me they are very similar yet a website I was reading said they are very different.
If anyone has an opinion, I'd like to hear it.
Agree, same here, esophagus & stomach irritated. Had severe nausea, sometimes vomited with no nausea & little warning, also experienced vertigo. Took zofran during wks 9-19 which helped but caused other issues. Illness worse with 2nd preg. This is last baby. I can't go through it again. I don't know how people with hyperemesis can cope. They must be super strong emotionally.

So I have been kind of feeling like I have been walking on a cloud all day today, kind of the norm for a Monday...I was sitting at my desk and all of a sudden I got so dizzy, I thought I was going to fall out of my chair...has this happened to any of you before? I did a search and saw a lot of people talking about getting dizzy when they stood up or when they were doing things,but I was just sitting here, very weird...
During my carbo/taxotere treatments I got Zofran and decadron IV, more decadron and Emend in pill form for three days, and Zofran in pill form for as long as I needed it. I still suffered lots and lots of nausea.
Now during my carbo/gemzar treatments I get Aloxi and decadron IV, take Zofran (8 mg) and Promethazine (Phenergan) for four days after each tx. This combo seems to work for me.
I was recently sent to the ER by my ob for rehydration since I wasn't able to keep ANYTHING down for the past week. I was prescribed zofran but it honestly doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm 9wks. My prev pregnancy I had bad nausea but not nearly this bad vomitting. Anyone experiencing the same???
Where are the pains exactly? I'm having intense stomach pains from the top of my naval to the top of my stomach and they are refrerring it to GERD (Acid Reflux Disease). I'd go see your GI and see if they can do an upper endoscopy on you. I'm going in on the 3rd to for one to see if I have GERD or a peptic ulcer. Drink a lot of water and a very bland diet (toast with peanut butter).
ve tried a few different types of medication but they stopped worrying after a couple of days, including Zofran. Today I purchased Seabands and I don't feel the extreme nausea.
Hi thanks for the explanation. I did have severe vertigo last year and saw an ENT that said my vertigo was not an inner ear issue he suggested then it was neurological in nature but further investigation is yet to determine where my vertigo stems from.
I'm often lightheaded. But I also feel like when I'm standing doing something I feel like things are moving around me. Strange I know but it doens't happen often enough to really bother me yet.
I have been using phenergan/promethazine it's an antihistamine for nausea and itching, it made me sleepy until I got used to it. It works well for me on the nausea and I guess the itching as well as I haven't had to much of a problem with that yet.
Three hours later I was on my bed vomiting for 14 hours. I had Vertigo from hell! I could not move my head or the room would spin violently. Finally I asked my husband to call an ambulance- I couldn’t take anymore. I remember screaming when they pulled me from the bed and on to the stretcher. They gave me Zofran in the IV and it did nothing to stop the vomiting. In the ER the doctor had no idea what was wrong.
