Yes, in MOST cases it works, and most cases works wonders, it is the generic for Zofran, I have been off and on Zofran most my life due to GI disorders which cause severe nausea/vomiting and Zofran, or it's generic, has been a godsend for that AND for my morning sickness in both my first pregnancy and my current one.

ve been to the er like 5 times due to not being able to keep anything not even water down they admitted me to the hospital and kept me in over night to control me im fine once im in the hospital with the iv fluids plugged in and getting zofran for nausea but the day after I leave its all back to normal ..

And the zofran ODT, dissolves on contact with tongue that way no matter how sick I was I still got the meds in my system and was able to eat little bits at time

Hi girls! I have HG and I want the say it is very hard right now I know! I began getting sick at 5 weeks and was put on zofran it didn't help I stayed taking another medication along with it I still ended up in the hospital 5 times. I was then put on a zofran pump at 15 weeks was on that until 25 weeks. I was taken off and was much better but I am now 34 weeks and I'm still having to take one odt zofran a day! But I tell you this so you know you are not the only one!

I wouldn't take it. I was prescribed it in the beginning of my pregnancy not knowing about what it can do to my baby. I took one and while I'm sitting there after it kicked im thinking wow this really helped when one of those commercials came on about it causing cleft pallet heart defect and so on. I never took another one. I'd rather deal with the sickness than worry about something being wrong with baby girl.

s be clear about form of promethazine as it comes in a liquid mainly for cough medicine promethazine w/codeine (promethazine w/codeine syrup is highly abused in our country) plain promethazine syrp, promethazine vc syrp and pill form. Zofran comes in a liquid as well, dissolvable tablets (AKA odt), and regular tablets. I would ask my doc for zofran, my friend took it for her full 9 months, she had morning sickness her entire pregnancy 24/7.

I think 80% of woman go through that. I couldn't eat or drink anything either and lost 15 pounds. What worked for me was eating a piece of a corn muffin when I woke up or during the day.. it helped ALOT it was the only thing I could keep down. Also apples you can ask you're doctor for odt zofran.. its for nausea its a tab that dissolves in you're mouth and they have all diff flavors. That helped me a bit.. but it didn't get rid of the problem completely. Also no sodas or juice..

Because you never know can or cannot gave possible negitive side effects. Everything in this world has possible negative side effects. And in most cases like zofran they are very rare and doesnt have any real medical evidence to back it up.

I started having nausea/vomiting/diarrhea after a trip visiting family in March of 09. It lasted until May then went away. This year it came back again only worse it seems. The nusea is continuous. I was given Zofran ODT to help with that but it doesn't last through the two doses I am supposed to take. I was also given Nexium to see if it would help with any kind of acid reflux or ulcer. I haven't really noticed a change with that.

t feel like accessing my port, he just threw a presciption of ODT zofran at me and discharged me! I went to another hospital where they saved my life! I guess I had a line infection and a clot, so the surgeon was able to get my port out and clear the clot and saved my life! The first hospital treated me as if there was nothing wrong! Unfortunately the medical system is far from perfect and it can take nearly a lifetime for a proper diagnosis sometimes.

I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.

I took zofran for the first 20 weeks of pregnancy it was that or become dehydrated and starve bevel with that I didn't each much but puked a lot less. Feel better!! Strangely enough my OB recommended drinking little sips of coca cola (not diet) it actually did help!

It is perfectly fine to take while pregnant I took it threw out my first pregnancy and I'm currently taking it now threw my second pregnancy :)

This is my second pregnancy , my first was so awful I wasn't keeping anything down not even meds and I lost 20lbs the first trimester from my MS. I'm hoping this one goes smoothly . I'm only 4 weeks along but I'm. Starting to get nasousous and feeling like I'm about to throw up at all times so my dr . Put me on Zofran (which she did the first pregnancy put I couldn't keep it down so I barely took it) did you guys ever take it ? Does it really work .

They can't actually prove it was specifically the zofran that caused the birth defects.

Oh im sry hun I was able to keep the others down after I got out of hospital adter having iv zofran. It may seem extreme but won't hurt to ask and you sound like a really severe case in fact I've never talked to someone who was worse than it than myself but im pretty sure you are worse than I was and I was really bad :-( ask you doctor about a pic line for iv zofran at home.

Every single commercial you see regarding a drug hits the rare side effects at the very end. Zofran is used in labor routinely and safely. I had to have it in both of my deliveries due to nausea and vomiting (seems I am a total wimp and that is part of my pain reaction). Listen to any drug add and they, at the very end, list a couple of things that according to the package inserts on these drugs is are very low but legally they have to mention them in order to broadcast an ad.

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???
