Yes, in MOST cases it works, and most cases works wonders, it is the generic for Zofran, I have been off and on Zofran most my life due to GI disorders which cause severe nausea/vomiting and Zofran, or it's generic, has been a godsend for that AND for my morning sickness in both my first pregnancy and my current one.
Everything is harmful while your pregnant ive had people tell me i shouldnt drive while pregnant because theres a chance i can get in a wreck lol people everywhere have opinions about whats right and wrong for you and your baby but i took zofran and my daughter is beautiful and healthy... This pregnancy i was prescribed promethazine so maybe you could ask you dr about that i took my zofran over promethazine because it made me go straight to sleep...
Hi girls! I have HG and I want the say it is very hard right now I know! I began getting sick at 5 weeks and was put on zofran it didn't help I stayed taking another medication along with it I still ended up in the hospital 5 times. I was then put on a zofran pump at 15 weeks was on that until 25 weeks. I was taken off and was much better but I am now 34 weeks and I'm still having to take one odt zofran a day! But I tell you this so you know you are not the only one!
s be clear about form of promethazine as it comes in a liquid mainly for cough medicine promethazine w/codeine (promethazine w/codeine syrup is highly abused in our country) plain promethazine syrp, promethazine vc syrp and pill form. Zofran comes in a liquid as well, dissolvable tablets (AKA odt), and regular tablets. I would ask my doc for zofran, my friend took it for her full 9 months, she had morning sickness her entire pregnancy 24/7.
They put me on zofran, reglan and another. Reglan made me depressed and zofran was the only one that worked. And being hospitalized because you're so dehydrated that you're having contractions you'll take what you can get. Whenever someone says don't take this or don't take that all their doing is striking fear into already pregnant and hormonal women when it is unnecessary. If I were to get pregnant again after this one and have morning sickness would I take zofran again...
I started having nausea/vomiting/diarrhea after a trip visiting family in March of 09. It lasted until May then went away. This year it came back again only worse it seems. The nusea is continuous. I was given Zofran ODT to help with that but it doesn't last through the two doses I am supposed to take. I was also given Nexium to see if it would help with any kind of acid reflux or ulcer. I haven't really noticed a change with that.
I've also been taking it since I was 7 weeks and I'm 38 and still take it.
I'm six weeks along and this is my first pregnancy. I've been extremely nauseous I can barely eat. I gag every single time. I also have really bad heartburn. I took some tums but it is not helping and I tried to get a hold of my doctor but they won't contact me back. I need help please.
t feel like accessing my port, he just threw a presciption of ODT zofran at me and discharged me! I went to another hospital where they saved my life! I guess I had a line infection and a clot, so the surgeon was able to get my port out and clear the clot and saved my life! The first hospital treated me as if there was nothing wrong!
Unfortunately the medical system is far from perfect and it can take nearly a lifetime for a proper diagnosis sometimes.
I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
After vomiting for a few days I went to my GP for a check up he gives me a pregnancy test which comes back negative then gives me a blood test and after a few days I go back and he tells me I have tested positive for HepA. He explains everything to me and after hearing their is no magic pill to make it all go away I go home and rest up. For the past 3 weeks I have been vomiting and feeling nauseous. Can't seem to keep anything down and it has really taken a toll.
I had miscarriages my past 2 pregnancies. I can't prove it was zofran related but I think so. Both occurred about a week after a started taking it. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I refused the zofran and so far baby is perfect.
I haven't heard of any risks and my doctor is pretty straight forward!
Is zofran safe to rake during pregnancy? I've read some stories and some say it's not and can cause heart defects is this true?
It is perfectly fine to take while pregnant I took it threw out my first pregnancy and I'm currently taking it now threw my second pregnancy :)
This is my second pregnancy , my first was so awful I wasn't keeping anything down not even meds and I lost 20lbs the first trimester from my MS. I'm hoping this one goes smoothly . I'm only 4 weeks along but I'm. Starting to get nasousous and feeling like I'm about to throw up at all times so my dr . Put me on Zofran (which she did the first pregnancy put I couldn't keep it down so I barely took it) did you guys ever take it ? Does it really work .
