Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum! I am almost 9 weeks pregnant and have been struggling very hard with keeping and food and water down! I have seen my OB doctor several times and she has been giving me several different nausea and vomiting medications. Avatar f tn Ive been hospitalized 6 times so far for this disorder. I had the microinfusion pump but it didnt work well for me. Zofran causes a reaction for me. So I have dealt with this with no remedy and its getting to be too much. I had to quit my job. . i cant even enjoy life as i used to. Within last 4 days i have been able to eat a full meal but im right back to old ways now. Who had this disorder and when did u see full relief?
Avatar f tn I had to go to the doctor for medicine (Zofran and Phenergan in my case) over HG to hold anything down. I've been taking one the other or both since about 9 weeks and am now 32+3. I personally couldn't find anything else to help. Try ginger/gingerale/ginger tea, mint, or keeping crackers by your bed for in the morning. I know I got at least a tiny bit of relief from sour things like lemon.
4974520 tn?1366757591 m going to throw up this way. Also, they put me on reglan and took me off zofran due to the back up the zofran was causing. Good luck hun, it isn't the easiest road but I'm hoping by 14wks I'll be in better shape!
Avatar f tn I am 6 weeks and 3 days and I was actually in the hospital the other night due to severe dehydration and Hyperemesis, I was prescribed zofran for the nausea but I have heard about birth defects from taking it. Does anyone else have the Hyperemesis? Is anyone taking zofran?
Avatar f tn I was the same way and diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum mine finally subsided around week 20. I still get nausea bits sometimes and I have an increase in saliva still due to hyperemesis, but I'm sorry to say nothing helped me. I just suffered through it and ended up going into the ER every 2 weeks for hydration and fluids because that was the only thing my body allowed. Good luck dear. I know how it is and I understand completely.
Avatar f tn At 6 weeks, I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG). I am suppose to be elated/ overjoyed at this moment and although I am grateful to bring forth this miracle, this as been the most difficult experience of my life! I have been unable to keep down any foods or liquids for 6.5 weeks. I have been hospitalized for dehydration 3 times. At my worse, I was vomiting 14-33 hours non-stop. I have lost 26 pounds thus far. I've been forced to take FMLA from work, withdraw from school (Ph.
Avatar f tn Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Avatar f tn Have you been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum? I was diagnosed as soon as I got news of baby (It was a big clue that I was cooking something up lol). I am 13w2d and was wondering if my sickness will subside around the 15th week like most normal pregnancies or if it lasts longer (I know there's a chance it could last through the entire pregnancy- pray for me lol).
1308572 tn?1279274623 I have it, and in my experience it's hell. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I was diagnosed with it around 13 weeks when I went to the ER because I wasn't able to eat and hold anything down. Even water didn't want to stay down. Because mine was caught early I wasn't stuck in the hospital long. (I consider myself very lucky when I read others stories) But I still have lots of troubles eating, and am continuing to drop weight.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum and Leukocytosis and this is getting the best of me. Ive tried to stay positive but I am really depressed because all I do is throw up and its even hard for me to swallow my own salvia without having to throw up.
457721 tn?1256640798 But do you guys think its possibly that I have hyperemesis gravidarum? I am waiting to hear back from my doc right now....but would love to know what you other PG ladies think...
Avatar n tn t the mention marajuana which is combating an entirely different complications - hyperemesis gravidarum (hospitization zofran pump kind). Although estrogen dominance(my last post touches on this)can affect thyroid, which is associated with hypermesis gravidarum). I have been smoking pot since I was 8w. sorry for my rambling. I have no one to talk to about this experimental, but very interesting pregnancy. But yeah, I'm a total medicinal pothead.
Avatar f tn This is my 3rd child and again I have Hyperemesis gravidarum. Does anyone else have this? I feel so alone and depressed. Would like someone who can relate and talk to to.
1710121 tn?1326476935 I am 21 years of age and my two previous pregnancies went by with minor to no morning sickness, but I am now pregnant and am facing this monster calle "Hyperemesis Gravidarum" I once took phenegran because I lost 17 pounds within a months time. Then I had to stop because my body created a super bug that would cause me to vomit and get severe headaches any time I took phenegran. My doc appt is not until the 11th and I still vomit at least three times a day.
Avatar f tn t do much for me....HG is horrible hope you find something that works for you....
Avatar f tn They try not to give zofran any more bc for some babies it was causing heart problems. I took it everyday with my first and he is perfectly healthy. I am on it again as a last resort. It helps with the vomiting but I,am still nauseas. I understand how difficult it is. I had to quit my job with my first and now I am hardly working. Every home remedy, every old wives tale nothing worked. For some it gets better around week 14 but like I said it lasted the entire 9 months with my first.
Avatar f tn Hi! Does anyone here have hyperemesis gravidarum or has had it in past pregnancies? I had it for eight months with my daughter and I have it now. I'm 15 weeks and I've Actually felt ok for about three days and don't remember feeling any better with my daughter in my last pregnancy. Does this mean I may actually start to finally feel better? Or should I not get my hopes up... ? =/ I still have been very careful with what I've been eating.
Avatar f tn I'm a ftm due 11/27. I was just diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. After being in the ER 3 times in less than a month for severe dehydration. Has anyone else had this? Any recommendations or tips to get through it? I've already lost 15 pounds and I don't want to lose anymore.
Avatar f tn You more that likely have hyperemesis gravidarum, which is extreme nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. I have it and I'm 18 weeks today, and I'm still sick. Ask your doctor for dissolvable zofran, that seems to have helped me a little bit, take it as soon as you wake up. The only downside is that it will probably give you a headache. Try eating baby food, if it's easy for a baby to digest it, it will be easier for you to keep down.
7753764 tn?1401853590 Oh im sry hun I was able to keep the others down after I got out of hospital adter having iv zofran. It may seem extreme but won't hurt to ask and you sound like a really severe case in fact I've never talked to someone who was worse than it than myself but im pretty sure you are worse than I was and I was really bad :-( ask you doctor about a pic line for iv zofran at home.
Avatar f tn Rehydration and was prescribed Diclectin and diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. Eventually the "morning" sickness subsided some. Hopefully it will for you. Good luck.
Avatar f tn If you get to the point where you cannot keep any fluids down at all, I highly recommend seeing your doctor asap so you can get some medication for nausea. Some women develop Hyperemesis gravidarum which is severe nausea/vomiting during pregnancy. It causes you to become severely dehydrated and rapid weight loss. Like i said, if you cannot hold fluids down AT ALL see ur doc before it gets to the point where u are admitted in the hospital for IV fluids. Take care.
Avatar f tn With you on this one. I'm 13 weeks. I suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum. Its terrible.
8827391 tn?1400247234 You need fluids, i had hyperemesis gravidarum my with my first child and was in the ER 12 times in under 3 months. Make sure you let your OB know too there are meds you can take for it while pregnant they're phenergan and zofran. Hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn I need some advice, I be so sick I even have to force myself to eat only when im on Zofran but I really want to stop taking it and try and mange it without the meds for the sake of my child. I just want to feel normal and be happy.
Avatar f tn Go to the hospital incase you are dehydrated. I had hyperemesis gravidarum with my first pregnancy. It's basically excessive vomiting weight loss dehydration ect. Anyways I was admitted and in thehospital for 2 days bc I was so sick and ddehydrated. I had to be on iv zofran then had to take zofran pills most of pregnancy in order to eat and drink. It won't hurt to get done fluids replaced if they need to do so rehyrate you not good for baby ifyou are ddehydrated.
