I'm 23 weeks and cannot go without mine (zofran) for more than a day.. I talked to more than 1 Dr. And they both said it is harmless.. Like another blancaboo said they would not give it to us if they thought it to be harmful.
I am taking zofran and it's perfectly safe and a class b drug. The ads on tv are just lawyers trying to get money for a case they can't prove. The birth defects they state are the most common among all babies born no matter a family history or not. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it. If you are that afraid though, look up the study of 600,000 pregnant women in denmark in 2013 that proved it was safe.
Yeah I was prescribed zofran but didn't take it! The nurses I work with said it can cause birth defects like cleft lip and stuff.. They've heard of it happening and I just didn't want to risk it.
Eeek see this one I'm scared to take :-( I was prescribed it at 20 weeks and I've yet to take any because I've heard it causes birth defects and from the above post I'm soooo glad I never took it....
I seen that on TV that it's causing birth defects I HAVNT taken any CUZ I've never had morning sickness but I would deal with it n other ways b4 using that med if I had to. I'm sure we all want healthy babies and would deal with anything to make sure of that. Glad U stopped taken it!
Research is inconclusive on zofran. No proof that it does or does not hurt a baby. It was created as a way to help chemo therapy patients to treat nausea. That's not good enough for me.after doing research although no medical study has found an increase rate of birth defects does not mean there aren't any.
I tried taking zofran, but my body rejected it. I would just throw it up or feel sicker after taking it.
s already bad enough that they have those Zofran commercials about birth defects. Someone went as far as to call my cell phone on Friday about a Zofran lawsuit! I flipped my lid, how dare they call me for that how do they even know what medications have been prescribed to me?? All tests and scans show that my baby is healthy but they really upset me.
I have a perfectly healthy 20mo i Took zofran from week 4 till week 30.
Defects are noted of the recommended max dose has been breached.
No more than 32 mg in a 24 hour period.
There has been studies proving the benefits outweigh the negatives and lawsuits that have been debunked proving that it's safe and doesn't cause birth defects.
Zofran had a recall on it and cause birth affects to your baby. Please don't take it. You can also google zofran during pregnancy it's bad for you.
I have seen on the news lately about some lawsuits about zofran. Apparently there has been a connection with birth defects and the use of that medication. I am 9 weeks and so nauseous but i refuse to take it. My doc told to me take 1 unisom and 50 mg vitamin B6 at night to help with it and it has helped some. I can actually eat now. I would just talk to your doctor and see what othe options he can suggest so you can have some relief. Good luck!
I have been seeing a lot of bad commercials about this and birth defects....
I'm now 12w3d and I've been having really bad morning sickness to the point I have to go to the hospital 3times a week just for fluids and I've been taking the prescription zofran since I was 9 weeks. I recently saw that zofran is being sued for causing birth defects.. I've asked my doctor about it and she just says that there is no evidence yet.. I'm trading the pill form and getting thru iv.. I'm a ftm and I just don't know what to do right now.
Everything is harmful while your pregnant ive had people tell me i shouldnt drive while pregnant because theres a chance i can get in a wreck lol people everywhere have opinions about whats right and wrong for you and your baby but i took zofran and my daughter is beautiful and healthy... This pregnancy i was prescribed promethazine so maybe you could ask you dr about that i took my zofran over promethazine because it made me go straight to sleep...
I had extreme morning sickness for 3 months and zofran didn't work... I was on peppermint tea and pretzels for almost that whole time... it's a good idea to go to the ER tho too cause you don't want the nausea to effect your baby's growth... good luck!
So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?
