However, I'm hesitant to putting extra chemicals and whatnot in my body. Also, they tend to be expensive so I want to get something that actually works. Any suggestions??

I checked the lab test online and seen that I had fasting glucose of 105 and according to their online index table it was out of normal range. I emailed my Doc and he said that reading of 105 did not concern him. But is 105 pre-diabetic? I'm 27, male. 6'0 and 160, not overweight at all, in fact I'm too skinny for being a male.

You can head across to the thyroid forum for some more info on making sure your levels are optimal. Your HA1C is not so high, so I'd guess they'd have started you on metformin. This drug often helps with weight loss. Regardless, you won't gain if you pay close attention to diet. Reduce the carbs, particularly anything processed and refined. Don't eat too much fruit.
Avatar m tn the way my body is behaving nowadays, i can lose weight too easily it scares me. its the gaining weight that i am having problems with now. i used to be able to gain weight if i wanted to but i used to hold back on eating a little sometimes to keep my weight where i wanted it. now i feel like i can eat everything i want and my weight still doesn't go up much. i noticed my appetite isn't quite where it used to be either though so that's probably what's causing it.

Avatar n tn I think the recommendations above have some mistakes in them, at least in my humble opinion. Cashews and other nuts do have lots of fat but are excellent sources of protein and fiber and are recommended for heart health. They are excellent as replacements for eating too much animal protein. Almonds and walnuts are probably better as they have less fat, but cashews are still a great food. Wheat instead of rice?

Avatar f tn however, muscle burns more calories than fat. Losing weight is 80% the diet and 20% exercise. You would want to do full body, bodyweight exercises three times a week. (full body, and bodyweight burns more calories because you are using more muscles. you want to choose 10 exercises to workout with for the workout and keep the reps around 12-15. As for diet, i am not a nutritionist but something you can do is make healthier substitutes for things like cookies.
