Insanity? Jillian Michaels shed in 30? I already do yoga & some pilates. I run when I'm not pregnant also.

Avatar f tn m told helps you maintain a healthy weight during pregnancy she only gained 13 lbs her pregnancy and they were never concerned because she was eating healthy and still doing yoga in bed. I do pregnancy yoga and I have only gained 6lbs my pregnancy and I wasn't the smallest person before pregnancy but moderate weight. All I can say is eat healthy and ask your doctor about pregnancy yoga. Best of luck to you.

I've ordered a yoga dvd as I've been told this could help lose weight but not to much that it harms the baby, tones and stretches the muscles to help with labour. Has anyone tried this before? Would you recommend it? Can you lose weight while pregnant and still have a healthy baby?

I just want to do something that will not only shape me up physically, but also mentally. Also, I am still having pain and spasms in the LP/Bloodpatch area. How long does that area take to heal?
Avatar n tn I got conflicting advice from my doctors here in Italy - some saying no yoga or pilates, others saying do yoga and pilates. My yoga teacher told me that her husband had the same op as I had and does yoga three times a week and has never felt better. I really am confused about this! I'm not overweight, I don't smoke and I walk a lot. I really want to get strong again quickly as I'm desparate for another baby.
Avatar n tn Eat healthy and drink lots of water. Cut out all or most of the yummy junk food we all love so much. As for exercise take it easy. Try walks, swimming water aerobics and even yoga. Its all stuff that can be done during pregnancy and safe! As long as your Dr oks you with any of what I mentioned have fun. With my son I gained 60 lbs. I took the eating for 2 thing seriously. I'm 25+3 with twins and have only gained 2 lbs. ( morning sickness was fun lost 25 lbs... ouch) Keep your head up.
Avatar f tn Being overweight puts a lot of pressure on your joints and may be the cause of your breathing problems during exercise. Perhaps you should look into something low impact like swimming to help you get a bit more fit. Aerobics and yoga might also be an option because they're not so much cardio- so in my experience- they don't make it as hard to breath as say running would or walking up a steep hill. I'd also suggest talking to your doctor. Perhaps you have asthma.
Avatar f tn That's an ideal weight for your height, hun. But if you don't feel like that's enough, you can tone up a bit and focus on the areas that you don't like. Personaly, i do capoeira and it works JUST PERFECT to build slim sexy muscles and enhance your metabolism. Wish you best of luck!
Avatar f tn t take long, walking several miles/day at a brisk pace to notice a difference. Yoga is also excellent for toning/losing weight. Both walking and yoga will tone the whole body. You can check out YouTube for tons of videos on yoga poses. Yoga emphasizes balance, breathing and relaxation. It works a lot on core muscles. Sounds like something for old folks, but it's really not.

1826464 tn?1317630906 I believe fully in therapy and, if needed, medication to address depression. If you do not want to do that, then you should make daily goals for yourself. When you're depressed, it seems too overwhelming to go much past daily goals. As for not stress eating, you need to start an activity that you can do when you are stressed that does not involve food but does calm you down. Yoga, as Rishi said, is helpful for that. You can't always stop and do yoga though.
Avatar m tn I have been taking yoga-lates. it's yoga and pilates. This class is for almost all levels. I have been doing well on it. I am not able to do everything (about 85% completion and more the more I do it). It helps with flexibility and cardio, without totally straining your body. I used to be able to walk three miles in 45 min. now I can't walk a flight of stairs. Changing my diet to more fruits and veggies, and cutting down on fried foods help. Tumeric helps for the inflammation. Good luck.

Avatar f tn I don't eat fast food I eat a lot of fruits and bread like for breakfast I eat scrambled eggs with toast or Cuban bread and I'll have a Bagel mid day. I eat peanut butter granola bars I'm like obsessed with them. I don't exercise I work in a restaurant so by the time I get home I'm just beat and want to rest. The crazy thing is that I do not look like I've gained so much weight.. people think I've only gained like 10 pounds.

Avatar f tn My Midwives are both confident that with healthy eating and moderate exercise overweight women can have healthy pregnancies. Keep an eye out for too much sugar or sodium (try to cut them out completely) and drink TONS of water and your body should adjust and shift weight around. I have heard of larger women losing weight at the beginning and levelling off. Hope this helped. And congratulations on the pregnancy!!!

And the person who recommended meditation and yoga is absolutely spot on, they have been proven to work with some people, as has exercise and dietary changes.

8069122 tn?1407171566 Yes some people should lose weight in a healthy way for pregnancy especially if u r already obese and at risk for certain things like GD or high BP. Im 34 weems and still down by 1 pound bcuz of such a difficult pregnancy but my baby is right on track.

I have to say that it's actually helped out quiet a bit , but I DON'T KNOW IF IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY SUFFERS FROM HEART, LUNG, BRAIN (LIKE CLOTS), OR HIGHBLOOD PRESSURE. THIS IS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN CHECKED OUT BY A DOCTOR ABOUT THEIR HEART, LUNGS, HEAD, ETC AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY ARE OK.
